Good morning ladies, i don't think it's as cold as it has been, but it's raining heavily.
Off to in laws in ½ an hour.Feel as if i have done a shift already.
Been getting things prepared for dinner. Just something with chips today.
Hubby asked if i would make a pie tomorrow.
What he calls a desperate Dan pie, so been preparing stuff for that.
Ingredients in the slow cooker,so just pastry to make in the morning.
Probably be enough to make 3 pies.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Good morning.
Nan2, you are a busy bee, it's good to make a good start on the day as you and Oma do. Not sure I will ever manage it though
Oma, good to hear you all had a great night. We often forget to take photos on family and friends nights. Too busy enjoying yourself, a good sign!
Cinema for us today. Off to Vue for Super Mondays half price tickets, with our code!
I have a little Christmas shopping to do while we are out. My aim is to always be finished by December, it is almost here!
Have a good Monday everyone.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Very quiet week for me, bowls this afternoon and then nothing on the calendar until Friday. DS came round yesterday to show off his new car, took me for a ride, Dil was in Birmingham visiting their son at Birmingham University and the Christmas Market. I gave him his birthday and Christmas present, a cabin case as they are off to Rome for a few days on Sat. He was very surprised and very pleased with it. Little present under the tree for him.
I hope you all have a good day. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Hope the migraine stays away now Oma! I don’t know if I told you, when Monarch went bust we had three flights booked with them, two paid by credit card and one by debit totalling over £500 - well Santander has reimbursed us with the lot. So feeling very pleased. Homemade fish soup for lunch mmmmmm.Grandmothers are just antique little girls - author unknown

DH had his first trip out this morning, only to Tesco’s with me but he enjoyed it and he was able to drive. Things are getting back to normal.
Baking for me this afternoon, he fancies fruit cake and I think I’ll do some scones as well.
Funny old day weatherwise, started off chillymbit sunny now it’s rainy and sunny. Not so cold though."Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." - Dr Seuss

Enfys that’s great that OH enjoyed his trip.Baking sounds just the job for a gloomy afternoon
Oma those migraines are real s..s aren’t they. My hairdresser suffers from them and her doctor has given her a preventative medication that seems to be working for her and she is so relieved. Do you take them at all?
Pearl it’s lovely to hear from you. We miss your chat
Hope all is well with you and your family
We’ve just had a brisk walk to post a letter.still a cold wind and spotting with rain.

Clover I do have them but you have to take them at the first sign of a migraine and sometimes I know when I feel sick or have funny vision to take them ,
Trouble with me is I often wake up with them and its too late to take the tablets ,
What I do do though is if I have anything important the next day I take one before bed just in case so it keeps them at bay
Good to hear from you Pearl
Enfys so pleased hubby is getting back to normal and feels well enough to drive , are you ok ?
Avo that's great news getting money back , a nice surprise
Mimi go back to bed and start again hahaha maybe PC is coming out in sympathy with you hhahaIm not fat just 6ft too small

Enfys, that is good news, he must enjoy being able to get out again.
Sorry to hear you had a bad migraine Oma, hope you get a good night tonight.
Didn't get to bowls, it is inside by the way. DD and Sil had a new cooker fitted, a £4,000 Range Cooker with induction hob. Back three rings of cooker not working and when it was installed by the electrician an old electric box connection was disturbed and was sparking. Electrician is a friend and once he had located the fault he turned everything off and called the Electricity Board and as everyone else was at work I had to miss my bowls to be here to let them in. I must say they were very quick to deal with it. Electrician came back to see if they had turned everything on again, he was concerned about the freezers and they hadn't so he went around checking. So I couldn't go out and had no internet. I did get some cards written and was here to take collection of a new phone GD had ordered. DD and SIL now have to get the new cooker sorted with the company, how can they send out a new cooker that isn't working properly. Fortunately I am on a different circuit so wasn't affected apart from Sky and Internet.

Shame about your migraine Oma, I can sympathise. I sometimes wake up with the start of one and as you say, it’s too late to take any medication. Hope you’re feeling better now.
I'm feeling fine, thank you. Every day gets better. Off to see Cardiologist tomorrow then hopefully he can set the ball rolling for the op in January. Fingers crossed.
Plant, DH plays short mat bowls and he can’t wait to get back to playing again.

Hope the Cardiologist is pleased with your OH then the op. can go ahead. so pleased you are feeling more relaxed Enfys.
I have played short mat bowls for a long time Enfys, we have three mats in the village hall. We have about 14 members, need some new blood. they tried to get an evening group going but it fizzled out. Some members play outside in the summer, still short mat. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare
