Oma I hope the football goes well.

Gem congratulations to S. I’m glad she got a tasteful prize.

Last night. I broke a piece of back tooth so a phone call to the dentist on Monday I’ve got a lot on next week so I hope they can fit me in at a convenient time,if at all

Enjoy your puppy cuddles Daisy.I don’t suppose Eva can meet him yet if he hasn’t had all his jabs ?

I’m curled up on the sofa by the wood burner under a blanket, my youngest gs kindly shared his tummy bug with me ! All my plans for today shelved.

Clover, hope the cake is cooking okay, I bet your house smells of Christmas.

Sorry to hear you are feeling poorly Avo, hope it clears up quickly.

Brian intends to enjoy his Christmas Oma, quite right too.

Back from Tesco, almost £200 poorer. As I said to OH, £6 of that was my mum's. She just looked at me
Just pottering this afternoon, out for a meal at 7pm.

I'm glad your new neighbours are nice Enfys, it's always a slight concern isn't it?
Very sensible getting your Christmas decs down from the loft Oma
Oh dear Avo, that's no fun Feel better soon.
Well done on the cake Clover. Ingredients for 2 cakes were amongst the Tesco shopping, so that is a step closer!
I hope your broken tooth isn't painful. I broke a big piece of tooth when we were in London a couple of weeks ago . As it isn't at all painful, I keep forgetting to make an appointment!
Plant, good for you with the Christmas shopping!

Oh dear Avo.I hope you feel better soon. You’re doing the right thing by taking it easy.

Plant the house certainly did smell all warm and Christmassy. The cake looks okay, nice flat top, Just hope it tastes alright on the day.I didn’t add alcohol as we don’t like it.Also no nuts as GS is allergic and I will be taking some to DD’s when we go for New Year.Sounds a bit dull but loads of fruit and spices so fingers crossed

              Enjoy your evening everyone.

Clover, i don't put alcohol in cakes. Hubby would like it but i don't.
In fact i don't like alcohol in any food.

I have just done a Sainsbury on line shop for delivery when we get home. I cannot remember what I have in the freezer for dinner that day.

Enfys - how lovely that your new neighbours sound as lovely as the ones who've just left. I used to feel embarrassed if people came to the door and I was still in my dressing gown, but I don't now. They just have to accept that we're owls, not larks, and getting dressed before lunch is as good as it gets! When your OH is recovering from his op in January perhaps he'll be able to use his videos, films and photographs for something to keep him busy and entertained.

Plant - well done on finishing your Christmas shopping. I must start mine soon, I suppose.

Oma - how did J's match go today? Enjoy your day tomorrow. When are you going to put your decorations up? Yes, we've now met Cooper and photos are on my 'Puppy' thread in Pets - he's so cute!

Clover - I love that smell of Christmas cake cooking, especially when it's cold outside like today and it's all warm and cosy inside. I hope your tooth's ok. I'm like Gem - if it doesn't hurt I tend not to worry, but I did get a clean bill of health from the dentist on Thursday!

Gem - it's shocking how the supermarket bill can mount up - but, as you say, £6 of it was for your mother!

Avo - poor you. Keep warm and cosy. I hope you feel better very soon.

Zizi - Perhaps you should be going out for a meal the day you get home to keep that holiday feeling going a bit longer.

We've had a pretty lazy day today. We went to see Cooper (DS2's new puppy) at lunch-time, came back and lit the woodburner and relaxed for the rest of the afternoon. I did rouse myself to finish off tidying up after last night's visitors and also changed the bed, but it's nice to have a bit of 'down' time!

                    Night, night everyone.

No frost this morning. It's cloudy so it kept the frost away.

Going to order the last 2 Christmas presents today, now we know what we are getting.

Gem, my supermarket bill adds up like that when i do an online grocery shop.

Off to have a look at Daisy's photos of the puppy.

Good morning Nan2 and everyone else.

                        Very frosty here!
We had a good catch up with friends last night. We always listen to their tales of woe (as well as nice stuff!) as a blended family which contains 3 teenagers and a 10 year old, there are often fireworks! I don't envy them. It can be hard enough to like your own teenagers at times, never mind anyone else's.

I am going to see my mum this afternoon, Apart from that, just a day at home, catching up with things.

                        Happy Sunday everyone!

Good morning everyone. That's a nice, cheerful graphic, Nanto. It's sunny here but there's been a heavy frost over night.

Never mind the supermarket bill - I've just got the invoice for our dog food order (plus some for the puppy) but it's not far off Gem's supermarket marathon!

Gem - well done to your friends working so hard to make their blended family successful. I'm sure they're grateful to have you and S to let off steam to.

Just a bit of catching up for me today - after we've taken Eva out for a good run - she loves this dry, cold weather!

Avo - I hope you're feeling better this morning. xx

Gem when husband and I got together the boys were (mine x 1 and his x 1) 9 years old and the eldest (his) 10 years old. As the time went on it was the ten year old that gave me the most trouble. Screaming rows, horrible behaviour etc. Now it is all very peaceful (although as you know I do not see my natural son anymore) and last year the eldest telephoned in tears (then aged 43) apologising as he had been telling someone about his teenage years and realised how awful he had been!

                                it can be exceptionally difficult......
