Good morning....I confess I am still in bed!! Just having a second cuppa before my shower, then I have plans to clear out the kitchen cupboards. Feel the need to keep busy, Oma you would be proud of me ๐Ÿ˜€.

Weather looks OK. What I can see is nice blue sky and no rain, so looking good for Daisy in her garden. Have a good day everyone x

I am not long up Enfys, still drinking tea. I had thought I would do some gardening tidying up but the grass is so wet to walk on. See how I feel when I am dressed. the sun is just starting to show so might tempt me out.

        Good morning everyone.

        Pass the matchsticks!!
After a long and full day with GS1 yesterday (he was with me by 8.30am) He decided, late afternoon that in fact he didn't want a sleepover!! DD and SIL were going to Leeds for a much looked forward to and needed belated anniversary meal, and we had 4 friends coming for a takeaway. Anyway eventually it was agreed he would stay. I read him 2 stories, then the friends arrived. We went down so he could say hello. 2 of them he knew, 2 he didn't. He was friendly bright and chatty. Once he was back in bed and had his 3rd story he was reluctant to be left, and wanted to go home. After him coming down once, me going up 2 or 3 times, he was asleep by 9.30. I'm afraid I could only get him to even get back into bed by promising I would phone mummy and ask her to come for him after their meal! I said it would be very late, so he was to go to sleep.
1.45 am - one awake grandson! I took him to the loo and he was OK at first, then really started to cry because mummy and daddy hadn't come for him! I said mummy had phoned, but as it was cold and raining and he was so fast asleep we decided it was best to leave him where he was warm and dry. He wasn't impressed with this. I had to lay with him until he fell asleep. An hour later he was awake again, so once again I had to lie with him until he was deeply asleep. Added to this, he is an early waker!!
He won't be coming for a sleepover in the foreseeable future. I will look after him there if they want a night out. We are the only grandparents who have him. (although he does have sleepovers at DD2's occasionally) His dads family are all in Scotland, and his local Grandpa will babysit there, but GS doesn't know him or his wife well enough to stay overnight at their house.

We are collecting my mum later after doing her shopping, then, with mum and GS going back to theirs, I'm looking forward to putting my feet up tonight!!

I will read and reply to other's post later!
        Have a good day.

Gem sorry you had such a rough time , I am lucky I know, that the twins always settle otherwise can you imagine the chaos, g/d went out like a lark last night but itโ€™s quite upsetting for you too when they donโ€™t settle ๐Ÿ˜ข

Out with ours for lunch tomorrow and Friday will collapse in a heap ๐Ÿ˜

Qwerty, we have had my GD to stay overnight several time a year, since she was 6 weeks old. She has never been any trouble. Even when poorly, she hasn't asked for mummy. This is all new to me

Gem our DD went through a spell like this, she was all excited to have sleep overs only to find that within an hour we had to go back and fetch her home as she was inconsolable . She did eventually start staying our night with friends but I was beginning to think she would be attached to me forever. She is the only one of our DC who has chosen not only to leave home but to move away completely .

How is everyone this morning ?

I did sort out my bedside cabinet yesterday and the amount of old receipts I came across was unbelievable , what was I thinking keeping them. Also a few old birthday cards were lurking in the bottom drawer so they went out. I am not always happy throwing birthday cards away ( they go in the paper recycling ) , do I keep them or not ? before we moved we had lots of paper work to sort through and we came across years worth of birthday cards, Christmas etc that I had kept and all of them were thrown away with the promise that I would never hoard such things again but I do feel guilty when it comes to just throwing cards away that my family have given me.

I have been very good toady as I have just finished cleaning the windows , this is not a regular accurance I can assure you .
              Have a lovely day ladies

Glorious day here! Been out and picked up all the apples from lawn in readiness for OH mowing grass! Think that may be a long job as grass has really grown since we've been away! Now going out to attack ivy growing on garage wall.
Carpets getting cleaned on Monday. So lounge is another step nearer habitation.
MRI scan on Friday morning. Hopefully there'll be some indication of what's causing headaches.
Off to make the most of this sunshine! Hope everyone is having a good day.

He's making hay while the sun shines.

Mimi, i used to save every card we got,but now i save them for a year, and then they get thrown out.

Boiler man was hear till 1.30 just couldn't find the fault why its leaking ,
He finally rang a friend who he works with he came out and they now think there is something wrong with the flue and its condensation from the heating rolling back down and leaking out as the back of the boiler where the flue is was wet ,
Coming back on Friday to renew all the flue pipe work . wanted to come tomorrow but we at the Hospital , asked how long it would take but they have no idea ,so another wasted day
Im not fat just 6ft too small

WeeGranny, hope the MRI scan gives you some answers.
Oma, hopefully the boiler will be sorted on Friday.

What a glorious day it's been. I could cope with winter if it was always like this!!

Enfys - I would be the same - keeping busy. It's a good way of dealing with things. xxx

Gem - poor you - what a night with GS1, especially with you having visitors as well. As you say, looking after him at his house for the next overnighter might be a better idea, although I'm sure he will soon be wanting another sleepover at yours. I sounds as though things weren't any easier with your Mum - you really needed that Merlot in the Granny's Rest.

Mimi - what you need is a smaller bedside cabinet!! Doesn't it make you feel good, though, when you've done a job like that!!

WG - glad you made the most of the sunshine. What will you do with all those apples?

Nanto - you have been a busy girl today - but it sounds as though it was very satisfying.

Oma - what a nuisance with the boiler. I do hope the flue is the problem and it gets sorted on Friday. Hope everything goes well at the hospital tomorrow.

I've had a useful day too. Despite being shattered after my usual Tough Tuesday, I started to help OH with clearing his hidden woodpile, but then we realised we needed to get some tender plants into the greenhouse, which we couldn't do until the greenhouse was cleared out and cleaned. So I got rid of all the tomato plants (hoping the last few green ones ripen), emptied everything out and cleaned the staging etc, washed the glass inside and out, and me (but only on the outside). I always get soaked as soon as I get a hosepipe in my hands. We didn't stop all day, except for a quick lunch, until 4.30 when we decided it was time to call a halt, and took Eva out for a run in the paddock. She had a good run round - much needed after last night's training session. Too tired to cook, so we just had a salmon and sardine salad, so I'm feeling extra virtuous - all that physical work in the garden, and a healthy tea!

Dry at the moment, but i think rain is forecast for later.

After a beautiful day yesterday, it was just like summer here, itโ€™s now dull and drizzly. So pleased I spend some time in the garden and made the most of the sunshine.

Not sure what weโ€™re doing today, but will probably pop out at some point. Have a good day yโ€™all. ๐Ÿ™‚

Good morning Nanto and everyone. What a lovely bright, cheerful graphic. It sounds like a busy day with your in-laws, but i bet that slow cooker meal will smell yummy when you get home.

It's dry but dull here this morning, but the garden is very wet. It doesn't dry up very well at this time of year. OH is going to a wood turning buddy's today to play in his mancave. I'm going to treat myself to a 'me' day, although I don't know yet what I'm going to do with it.

I hope you all have a good day, ladies.

                                Good morning all.

Good for you having dinner organised already Nan2! I am determined to use our slow cooker this year.
No wonder you were too tired to cook after that busy day Daisy!
I hope the boiler problem is sorted out soon, Oma.
WG, you will be glad to get the MRI over, and possibly some answers. Migraines seem to plague a lot of people, don't they
Mimi, my bedside drawers contain a lot the things which need throwing out too!

Today I am having GD. SIL will drop her off this morning and DD will collect her late afternoon. She can't stay for tea as she has a sleepover with a friend who has just left her school and she is keen to see again. Double booked at 8 years old
I think we are going to the cinema and out to lunch, and also spending time here, but I will see what she wants to do once she arrives.
There was a chance that I was going over to collect her this morning, and dropping off the baby at nursery. DD had to be in town very early for some charity thing, and SIL had to work from home waiting in for a new freezer delivery. Theirs broke and they had to throw all their food away
Luckily the freezer came early this morning, so SIL can go into work, and deliver the children
