Oma - yes, I always feel sad too. I know nature oversupplies most creatures and not all will live a full life cycle - think how many eggs other birds steal from nests, or how many baby chicks get eaten by predators - but it still makes me sad. I suppose road kill wouldn't happen if we didn't all drive round in big metal boxes at 70 mph. I can just imagine Storm trying to show his new bone chew off to the neighbour's cats.

It's been a beautiful day here - got 3 loads of washing dried outside and had a lovely walk with Eva, but it's going chilly now.

Well today has been busy. My day off - err yes! So up at 6.45am, juice, check emails, Facebook, here. Did daily puzzle. Popped to high street to get mushrooms for tonight’s casserole, some bits from Superdrug, Halloween presents for kids, fresh bread and Halloween biscuits for little people and put them in the usual bags with sweeties and pocket money envelopes. Oh and als got £30 Next vouchers for sons birthday (he is also getting a bottle of bubbles). Finally came home. Cleaned kitchen, wrapped Christmas presents for Wales. Made gift tags, organised decorator to come for Wednesday, husband came home and we signed the letter for the ombudsman re THAT kitchen firm. I have already submitted everything but they had some questions. Also made a casserole for dinner (chicken) which is now in the oven - smells nice if I say so myself.

I am now having a wine and soda. Tomorrow will be a quiet morning reading the paper etc. Then off to see children and also get some colour cards for the sitting room paint. Relax in the evening wartching strictly and he will watch the screeching thing while I go on catch up, Sunday we will go up to the Olympic park to shop and stay overnight before the very last Time To Shine. Tuesday I am off (allegedly) but as the decorator is coming Wednesday I hve a lot of things to do, things I should have done ages ago but have been too lazy.

Qwerty, my oldest friends will be celebrating 45 years, like you, at the end of the month. I know why they got married at that time of year. Their son was born 3 days later

What a busy day off Zizi! We have had chicken casserole too! I made it while GS had his nap.

I too hate to see all the dead birds and animals by the roadside when we drive through the countryside.

I'm glad you had good weather Daisy, it was quite drizzly here .
GS2 and I went to the village this morning to buy GS1's birthday balloon, for tomorrow. Batman, as that's the cake DD has made for him. I also bought a Peppa Pig one for GS2. it was so hard to resist him saying Peppa Pig, when he saw the design on the stand!
I have mentioned on the Granny's Rest thread about SIL going to the wrong place for GS2 tonight

Good morning, Ladies. It's blustery here - to say the least! I really must try and get the pot of canna lilies off the front door step and into the greenhouse.

Nanto - I'm glad you've got plans for your 50th! Qwerty - you never know, your OH might suggest the Seychelles or something like that! We really found it hard to decide. We didn't really want a party, we thought about a holiday somewhere nice, but neither of us could quite make a decision, and what we realised eventually that we just wanted to spend the day with our children and grandchildren. We booked lunch at a nice beachside hotel and had a perfect day, even taking DS1's dog! It helped that it was a lovely day in July - I'm not so sure that October/November would be quite so attractive. LOL

Zizi - you're always a busy bee - so I can't imagine there are jobs you've been too lazy to do! Your GCs are very lucky to get such lovely treats!!

Nanto - don't get too excited - B&Q AND Homebase all in one day. Thank goodness for Dunelm Mill!!!

Gem - is it GS1's birthday today?

GS1s 5th birthday today Daisy, you are right! We are heading to Pusdey for his 11am birthday party at Rainbow Factory (Has your GD1 been there Qwerty?)
Not sure what the rest of today holds.

                        Happy Saturday everyone!

                          Good morning.
Blowing a literal gale here as forecast though will dash out between deluges to get a paper.OH would be lost without his Saturday read.
The rest of the day I think we'll be confined to barracks. I'm planning to make a fruit cake to take with us to DD's next week and some sort of pudding for dessert tonight. We usually have fruit or yogurt but I feel like a treat
Hope you have a nice day whatever your weather.

Very blustery here with occasional heavy showers. I am off to my family history group soon, then not much on for the rest of the day. Enjoy your Saturday, ladies

Morning ladies , feeling rough this morning , didn't get to bed till 6 then up at 8.30 ,
Had a bit of a accident last night , walked into the corner edge of our glass coffee table and banged my bad knee really hard , so hard and painful I actually cried ,
It's throbbed all night even with pain killers and heat pack on ,
I'm ok but a bit lethargic at the minute .
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Oh Oma, I felt that bump, its always the bad one isn't it. You must be feeling very sorry for yourself.

I have been cooking apples all the morning and have turned some into crumbles and the rest will go into a pie. A friend took away a box of apples yesterday so I am beginning to think I am getting in control, most of the large ones are down so I am not too worried about wasting lovely brambly cooking apples. Family have gone to Kent to see a pregnant Retriever, they are hoping to get a bitch from the litter after Christmas.
