Very drizzly here this morning. No plans for today.
We had a lovely day out yesterday. The weather was glorious, the boys enjoyed the motor cycle museum and us girls had fun shopping. The craft shop was great, a very friendly and helpful owner so I came home with fabric and a few other bits and bobs. We had lunch in a lovely restaurant on the cliff top with great views out to sea and of the Isle of Wight. Came home feeling tired but it was very enjoyable.

Good morning, everyone.
It's raining here - as forecast - so I'm glad I did some gardening yesterday.
Enfys - was it Sammy Millers the boys went to? The shops seem to have sprung up there and I keep intending to go and have a look round - my DS2 lives just round the corner.
Nanto - it sounds as though your GD and her partner are settling down in their new home very well. I bet they were glad of the extra help, too. I'd never thought of standing our bench on bricks - where ours is sometimes floods in the winter if we have a lot of heavy rain.
Qwerty - isn't it always the way - you go out for something specific and can't find what you want, but you go out just for a mooch round and come back with aching plastic. I hope it stayed fine for the Festival of Lights - I bet GD1 loved it.
Oma - I hope your arm is ok today. I was wondering if you're going to get a little holiday - or even 3 weeks holiday.
Nanto - enjoy your shopping.
We've got friends coming for dinner tonight - an early celebration for OH's birthday next week - so I've got to do some housework. Boo hoo! I made the casserole last night, so feeling quite smug about that. I've just got to do pasta and some extra veggies and job done! I'm doing a smoked salmon salad for starters and fruit salad and an apple pie for pudding. The apple pie is in the freezer, so only needs defrosting and reheating. I feel a bit mean not making OH a birthday cake, but I'll see how the time goes. The monthly dog food order won't arrive until about 5 pm, so I need to have everything else ready to give me time to get that into the freezer - it's a bit of a juggling act.

Enfys sounds a good day did you enjoy your lunch ,did you get ice cream
Went out yesterday and picked the Apples off my little tree ,I picked 14 perfect apples and they taste lovely , skin a little tough but sweet flesh so I'm well pleased with my first crop
Of to Martins this morning 40 mins drive away we might go to local pub for lunch see what we all feel like , They usually do a snack for us all but would like to treat them to lunch for a change .
Must call in shops on the way home and buy a ball for the little grandson of next door , he threw his football in the garden yesterday and Storm thought it was a game and burst it , Neighbour said not to bother but I will feel better getting him a new one .

Oma - I think your oven is trying to tell you something - it's time for a holiday!
I did the casserole in the slow cooker - left it on low all night. Well done on your apple crop.
Enjoy your trip to Martin's. I bet your neighbour's GS will be delighted to have a new ball, but you can't blame Storm he must have thought it was his birthday. The only place I can find for GDs' football is on top of the fridge and Eva keeps looking at it longingly - it's only a matter of time before she gets it!!!
Glad your arm's not too bad. Mine was a bit tender for a day or two, but nothing much."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

Good morning everyone, and HAPPY SATURDAY!
Dinner sounds lovely Daisy!
I'm glad your arm isn't too sore Oma.
We came 3rd in the quiz last night. The winning team had many more members than ours, so we didn't do badly
We donate our winnings to the golf club charity (local hospice this year) It only works out at a couple of pounds each anyway, it is the kudos of winning we want, not the cash!
Baby GS due here soon. He will be here while his big sister has her birthday party. We will take him back this afternoon, and the family Pizza Night will be later
I must go to the library for mums audio books this morning, and the neswsagents for GDs helium balloon. It is a tradition that I give each GC one for their birthday.βA grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.β β Unknown

Daisy, yes it was Sammy Millers, well worth a look round. Also, I can recommend mind The Cliffhanger at Highcliffe. Lovely food and great views, if you are over that way. Lovely seating outside, so you could easily take Eva and have a nice walk along the cliff.

Very dull here, raining a bit, wanted to put some more plants out. Bad start to the day I started putting blueberries in my cup of tea instead of my cereal. Managed to retrieve them, tasted okay. JL are coming to fit my new curtains on Tuesday, I feel I will need them soon with the evenings drawing in.
Nothing planned for today, you all sound very busy people
I envy you Enfys having a meal looking towards the sea. Hampshire is a very good location, you are not far from London, closer to Cornwall, our favourite holiday resort and are able to reach the coast easily.
Have a great weekend everyone whatever you are doing. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

The day started off dry, cold and very windy.
Wind has calmed down now,but it is raining.
Had dinner out in town, called in Asda on way home,so bought 2 ready meals for tomorrow.
I'll do anything so i don't have to cook.
We got yorkshire puddings with chicken and veg in, they aren't too bad, we know we can eat them.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

I always used to go to the butcher seven miles away however I havenβt been feeling that perky recently and have been getting supermarket meat. A lot cheaper but I do have to say not as good quality by any means. The latest chicken food scare made me decide to go back to the butcher (it is only five weeks since I have been there) as he knows exactly where his meat comes from, I wouldnβt be surprised if he knew the name of each animal!!
I spent Β£51 on eight sausages and two cracked pepper burgers (both made in the shop), two chicken supremes - enormous chicken legs, two pounds of minced steak, two large lamb shanks marinaded in a lovely smelling mint mixture which will do for two meals, pork for a casserole half of the casserole I will freeze, and a lovely piece of beef again will feed for two days. 4 of the Sausages, burgers, chicken and three quarters of mince in freezer. So with what I have already in the freezer and store cupboard I will not have to go again for a couple of weeks unless I contract lazy-itis again. We rarely eat ready meals except the odd Chinese, Indian or pizza. Chilli tonight, roast beef tomorrow, sausage and mash Monday when I will also make a lasagne for later in the week. I am out a lot this week so husband will cook but I will have to get the stuff from the freezer as he NEVER remembers!
husband will not, EVER, have ready made yorkies and is very judgemental when we go out for a pub roast lunch. He gets quite snotty about ready made ones and even yorkie mixes. Can be a bit embarrassing. I leave him to get on with it.......
If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together

Late as always but a busy day, catching up with chores and out for tea at DD just got back.
Oma don't tell me having the flu job hurts, I couldn't remember and we are due ours next week π
Nan2 it's lovely when your young ones are so proud of there home, good luck to them in it π
I didnt stir till 10 am we had a late night at the festival not much happening in the shopping centre but on the outskirts of the centre where all ours civic building are it was amazing.
I did 3 things in my 68 years of living in this city I have never done before, we got a river taxi down the River Aire and it was pitch black water always looks a little more scary then ,but we went down to our local Armouries museum where there is lots of entertaining on an evening it's the dock land for barges, restaurants casino etc , a lot of stuff was a bit arty for me some cryptic things I didn't understand π€
The second was going into the crypt at our local Town Hall, very interesting lots of dark warrens very warm and stuffy .
Thirdly went into St Anne's our catholic Cathedral not being catholic I had never been in but we were invited to light a candle and have a look round, the only off putting thing was it's where Jimmy Saville had his funeral service, such a divine beautiful cathedral so peaceful and ornate had to be of service to such an evil man very sad .
There were free buses touring round a bit like a hop on hop off we went for the 10.30 pm bus to take is to our car park but it didn't turn up nothing new there , caught the last one at 11 pm, we sat on the bus halfway there and the driver told us it terminated there, we were along way off the car park and it was very dark and not a place you wamted to be at that time. The driver said he couldn't go any further as he had done his allocated hours, he must have felt sorry for us as he saw us walk away he pulled up and said he could take us so far which was great ππ» so we got hom e after midnight and I've been coming round ever since π
