Good morning, everyone. I'll catch up on yesterday later. The sun is shining and I want to go and get some plants and get them planted before the weeds spot the bare soil and take over!!!

Good morning everyone.
Nice autumn graphic Nan2
Sunny here too Daisy.
I hope you have a nice lunch Enfys.
Usual Thursday stuff here, Mums shopping etc. annoyingly I can't take her audio books today. The library is always closed on Thursdays, so I have to make sure I collect them on Wednesday or before. The mobile bus was off the road yesterday, so I couldn't collect the books I knew were waiting for mum. Most frustrating. I don't get time to go to hers on Fridays as it is so busy for me, so will have to pop in over the weekend with them.
Enjoy your day everyone.

Morning ladies ,
Enfys enjoy your lunch ,
Daisy I'm sure weeds do a scan of the garden and say come on lads there's a free spot we haven't got too yet
Gem typical when you don't have time you cant get something you want and have to go back another time , hope your Mum has books to fall back on till you get the others ,
Been for some shopping and I'm going to try and have a Nana nap after lunch , didn't get to bed till nearly 5am and we going out for tea with friends at 6 so need to be awake or I will fall asleep at the table
Enjoy Qwerty don't eat all the cakes xxx
Qwerty, have a lovely day.
Enfys, enjoy your lunch.
It's been the usual kind of Thursday for me. Been to parents, cleaned bathroom and bedrooms. Done the washing and put it out.
All they have to today is bring in said washing, and get something to eat.
I'm going to get dinner prepared.(We have ours at what most of you call lunch time.)
Mashed potatoes, chicken in breadcrumbs, chicken gravy but haven't decided what veg yet.
Sun is shining and it's very warm.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.
Have a lovely day in Bakewell Qwerty, sun out here I hope it will be in Bakewell.
I need to get my burning thing out to deal with the weeks in the paving but it rained overnight so they might be too damp. Just got back from Aqu, very strenuous lesson. Have picked up loads of apples, might get started peeling some, I can freeze them uncooked. Going to a B&Buy tomorrow so will take some there.
What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare
I will be picking up apples at my mums this afternoon Plant. She was complaining to me about them on the phone this morning!
DD3 is coming over later and staying the nigjt. She was up in the night being sick and cant face new airbnb.guests they have coming tonight. Its a very small house. OH and I will try to keep our distance! !

Yesterday and this morning have been all go. The plumber arrived here yesterday morning just after 8 and he has fixed the bathroom sink, then I had lots of callers with birthday cards , it seemed like non stop. Yesterday evening GS (aged 7) rang me for a chat which was lovely then DS,DIL and eldest GC turned up , it was late before they went and by then I was ready for bed.
This morning was the second attempt at having my flu vaccine , then I did some shopping with my birthday money. I brought make up , trousers and a jumper and a Yankee Candle , as well as odds and ends for a few days away in York next weekend. We then had some lunch in town, I'm shattered now, it doesn't take much to tire me out .
How is everyone
Qwerty hope you are having a good time in Bakewell
Been out for tea with Brian's nurse and the receptionist from our local unit who have become very good friends to us , we have had a lovely few hours and nice food my cheeks ache with smiling and laughing
Evening ladies well I have been a tart today going to Bakewell 😜 Weather has been lovely it's not as big as I remembered it last time but nevertheless had a lovely pub lunch a bit of shopping it's bizarre what you buy on a day out, I have been looking for a smaller pie plate now there is only 2 of us couldn't get one anywhere, but got one there of course it's pie and tart town so that could be possibly why, 3 note holders made with pegs one each for g/c with their names on , a Bakewell tart and some linseeds from H&B 🤔 a nice walk along the river and sat outside with a couple of lattes , the journey home was a bit of a nightmare in Sheffield guess Nan2 will know about that, the sat nav didn't bring us back the way we came they never do. A nice break though and no gremlins in the new car !
Well done to Charlie you are allowed to be proud WG
Hope you all had a decent day including those managing elderly parents
Daisy how was Beautiful good I expect 🙂
Enjoy your meal Oma and hope you enjoyed lunch Enfys
Flipping busy day for you Mimi 🙁
If I missed anyone off my list it's because I'm hungry and OH is making bacon sandwiches !!

"I don't believe it "
Its September 28th and our neighbours across the road from us have got their outdoor Christmas lights up and running, as I speak, or should I say , type this, there are flashing images of snowflakes being projected on the walls of their's and their poor upstairs neighbours flat . The snowflakes can been seen twirling all over the walls and windows. There are fairy lights on the bird feeder and along the old wire garden fence. Dangling from the windows are spiral Christmas trees . They must have put up all this while we were in town and we didn't notice till it got dark. This flat is directly opposite ours and all I can say is thank God for our blinds at our windows otherwise we would be able to see twirling snowflakes all night long.
Now I love Christmas decorations as much as the next person....but in September....really ?

Mimi - I'm lost for words!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WG - it's compulsory to have a little boast when our gorgeous GCs are so clever. A big 'well done' to Charlie. I hope he gets good news on 13 October - he is a very bright young man - I love his campaign slogan. I'm sure all his GRU Graunties join me in sending his our congratulations.
Gem - how frustrating about your mum's audio books.
Plant - you've had a busy day!
Mimi - it's a non-stop social whirl for you!!
Oma - how good that you've made such excellent friends from the local unit.
Qwerty - how funny that Bakewell seemed smaller than you'd remembered - I hope the tarts haven't shrunk as well. It does you good to have a day out.
I'll write about Beautiful separately! We've had a nice sunny, warm day today, but it had rained heavily last night and everywhere was sodden. Anyway, we decided to go plant hunting. No, sadly, not the Himalayas, or far flung placed in China - just a couple of local garden centres. I was shocked at how expensive some quite commonplace plants were, and neither of the two garden centres we tried had got JI No 3 which we wanted for some big tubs that need redoing.
So we went to the little plant centre where I got most of the plants for the front garden and bought 3 each of two varieties of euonymus, 3 hellebores and a red-stemmed corunus for the back garden, and a very bushy-looking geum for the front. By the time we got home it was nearly 3 pm, and somehow we had missed out on lunch, so I had a quick snack and then got on with planting. The soil really was wet and heavy and it took ages - and I've still got the cornus and geum to plant tomorrow or on the next dry day.
btw, Mimi - large sections of our biggest garden centre were closed off - so they could set up the Christmas displays - and then they have a special opening, which I think you have to buy tickets for!
