Good morning Nanto , and everyone. Wrap up warm, Nanto - I bet it's cold out there.

My OH is out for the day - a wood turning club event - they have a professional turner demonstrating, fish and chips for lunch and a generally relaxed day. I'm going to take Eva out before I do anything else. Another friend who uses the same paddock for their dog rang me yesterday to ask when I was going because his little Westie has had some serious surgery following a road accident and he obviously didn't want Eva bouncing around, so I said I'd go early then he's got the rest of the day and can choose the best time for his poorly doggy. Then it's back to a huge pile of ironing , snd a few loads of washing, and possibly the GDs for a couple of hours.

      Have a good day ladies.

Good morning Nanto and everyone. I love the graphic and only wish it was crisp and cold like that here. It’s dark and wet and the forecast is grim.
No definite plans for today, well nothing fun anyway.Just the usual day-to-day chores.
If you or loved ones are feeling poorly I hope you feel better soon.
        Have a happy day.

            Good morning everyone.

Enjoy your shopping with GD Nan2.
Don't do too much ironing Daisy!
I hope the weather improves where you are Clover,
Happy special Anniversary Qwerty. I know it is a sad day too, but try to keep the happy thoughts at the fore.
I hope Zizi is enjoying the start of her holiday, and Nana too.
Thinking of Aggie, recovering from her op, in her new home, but at least with the internet back!

There was a brief patch of sun earlier, but now it has gone! It is not raining or frosty though.
OH is going to help a friend put up some shelves this morning. I don't know how some of our friends would function without OH helping them out!!
The same friend and her OH are coming for a meal to us tonight. This morning I will clean up , lay the dining room table and prepare some mashed potatoes. OH is doing her pork dish so she will do that later. We have Tesco Finest Sicilian lemon tart, so no need to make pudding

I am waiting to hear from DD2 this morning as to how GS2 is and if the rest of them are OK. I hope so.

            Have a good day everyone.

I am doing 2 washloads of towels, as it is sunny and a bit windy. Cat sitters towels as well as ours, so they had built up!

Baby GS is fine, wasn't sick any more and slept through the night.

This sums up today, its so dark it could be evening

But are we downhearted... no we are not.

Yesterday I went to the Drs to get the results of my blood tests, they all came back normal .No sign of diabetes , cholesterol levels were ok , so were my iron levels. Kidney and liver function were as would be expected of a woman of my age ( he said that. no need to rub it in was there ) . The only problem is my blood pressure is still slightly high so I have to go to a 'smart clinic' next month and if the readings are the same he is going to pop me on medication . This could be why I am fleeing so dizzy all the time.

We have been busy this morning tiding up and now I am going to attempt to do some online Christmas shopping . I have tried for the last few days but I keep getting side tracked, popping on here is an example !

Qwerty I know its a sad day for you but my thoughts are with you .

Honestly Oma , Screwfix, I don't know how you can contain yourself with the excitement of it all
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Mimi, great news that all those tests came back OK!
If you have to go on medication so be it. I have been on BP meds since I was 46. A few years later, I was fairly fit and had lost some weight and I asked if I could come off them, GP said we would trial it when I had lost 10 pounds more.Well I lost a couple of stones and went back. I had 2 weeks with meds on alternate days, 2 weeks with none then back to GP. My BP had gone up. I walked miles most days in those days, and was a lot slimmer (and younger) than I am now. She just said it is one of those things, some people are prone to this no matter what they do. I have had no side effects as far as I know after taking this drug for all those years. As a wise friend of mine said 'Better take a little tablet than have a stroke or heart attack'

I hope your little GD is feeling better soon Qwerty.

Mimi, pleased the results came back ok, apart from the blood pressure.
                          Been cold here,but sunny.
Gem, pleaased the little one is feeling better.

Gem - we can't help worrying about everyone at this time of the year when there are some really horrible bugs about - I do hope you're ok Plant. xxx

Mimi - That's good news about your blood test results. I've been on BP tablets for years (I can't remember how long!) and - touch wood - I've never had any side effects and I'm still on the same dose, and my BP is still ok - given my great age, of course! Doctors really know how to make you feel good about getting old, don't they! Mimi - that is certainly a dull, miserable day. I was thinking this morning we've got another month of days getting shorter and darker! November is not my favourite month.

Qwerty - it was nice of you to speak to Clare's OH today. Poor man, it must be so hard for him, and I'm sure he appreciates how much you miss her too. I hope little GD is ok - you feel so sorry for them when they're poorly. xx

Oma - Saturday morning at Screwfix - what could be better - you lucky girl.

Clover - I hope you are enjoying your 'quiet' day - we all need them sometimes and when the weather's bad it's nice to stay indoors all snug and warm.

OH is back from his day out, and has brought me a couple of leaflets from the professional turner who was demonstrating, with some nice ideas for using colour and other finishes with pyrography. At the moment, I'm lucky if I even find time to walk down to the summerhouse where I keep all my stuff. After I walked Eva I came home, had some lunch and a bit of a sit down - updating the operating systems on my phone and iPad! and then tackled the dreaded ironing. I'm delighted, overjoyed and thrilled to say - it's all done! But there are 2 loads of washing waiting in the wings and they will end up needing the flat hissy thing as well. There's no end to it!

Qwerty it’s a really hard day for your dear friend’s OH.as well as you of course.
Gem I’m glad the little one’s sickness seems to be a one off.
We went to get the paper this morning and it rained on and off. It was so dark this afternoon that we had to put the light on at a quarter past 3.
