I always seem to be pulling up the ranks last thing, if I get on here too early I would still be sat in my jamas at lunchtime.

A busy day had an estate agent come to value the house was here talking 2 hrs 😌 pleasantly surprised although we are looking to downsize, the price they have given us means we can up the cost of another property whilst down sizing does that makes sense ? Another chap coming tomorrow watch this person value it at much less lol

OH went for eyes testing yesterday to find he has the start of cataracts he's bought glasses which darken if it's too bright the optician seems to think it will slow the process down, hopefully for many years to come .

Qwerty, you can only move to Spain if you buy a villa big enough for us all to come to stay!! It must seem more real now you have your valuation. Exciting times though.

I was to have reflexology this morning, However I am busy so the thought of fitting it in was doing the opposite of relaxing me LOL. Fortunately when I contacted her yesterday my reflexologist was able to change it to Friday, which is my free day this week.
I have to collect baby GS from nursery at lunch time, take him back to his house, go out again at 3 to collect his sister from school and back to their house again. Give them tea and look after them until SIL gets home from work. (DD is in Cannes with work this week) Then get home as quickly as I can as we have DD3 and her OH, plus A and J (whose wedding we went to in August) all coming for a meal and games. OH is cooking the main meal - pork in mushroom and mustard sauce . I will prepare the mashed potatoes and get the veg ready and clean the house this morning. You can see there was no time for lying around having reflexology

Qwerty my OH also has the start of cataracts.At least they can be treated If and when it becomes necessary.
I'm off for a blood test this morning then we are going in to town to pick up OH's new glasses.
Very windy here with rain threatening.Not a good day to be out and about but we have no choice.

OH is heading for the golf course. She says the 2 members she and her friend are playing against have such good handicaps that it should be over quickly. Then they will be back in the clubhouse for a cuppa!

Well its dark and dull and very windy today ,
B has gone to his Mams giving the downstairs loo a day off , its taking ages to finish , he cant work as long as he used to he gets tired very quick , so I said to give it a rest and tackle it again tomorrow ,
Just the sink and vanity unit to fit and new radiator , I will paint the wall first .
SIL put new flooring down last night , its been the little things like filling holes in sanding and grouting that's took the time ,

Morning all, I am off to see my favourite man, John my dentist. I need a couple of small fillings unfortunately. Must make a start on the chutney, brambly apples coming out of my ears, then the mincemeat and lastly the puddings.

Qwerty, it is a big decision to make a house move, how long have you lived in your present house? Take things slowly, get the valuation for your house and take your time. Apart from moving from next door I haven't moved since 1969.
I think most people of a certain age have cataracts, I was told I would need an op probably in the next year, I suppose you get used to changes in your eyesight. After my OH had both of his eyes done he didn't need glasses anymore.

Its a windy afternoon here and a little on the cold side, I have just brought the bins round to the back of the flat and I almost got blown over.

Qwerty that was a pleasant surprise about the valuation wasn't it .

OH has gone to Birmingham Hospital today for his botox injections and I have the whole flat to myself....now what shall I do ?

QWERTY and Clover, as you know my husband has severe glaucoma and he too has the start of cataracts. It is worrying for him as he has recently had to accept that his glaucoma is getting worse and being registered partially sighted, he is not happy. We don’t want anything else to impair his sight. He always wore photochromic glasses but with his glaucoma going into darkened or low light levels made him virtually blind and he found that it was worse with the photochromics so last time he got a pair of ordinary glasses and a pair of sun glasses and he feels much happier. Of course that is one more thing to put in my bag and carry!!

Because I have private health insurance through my work I am trying to establish a definite “non-link” if you know what I mean between glaucoma and cataracts but am getting conflicting results. If I can persuade BUPA that cataracts are not linked with glaucoma and therefore do not count as a pre-existing condition I can use my BUPA if it happens quicker than we think.

My mil (long gone) had both hr cataracts done, and they were very bad before she had them done, and she sailed through. Didn’t even have a general anaesthetic which I would have to have if someone wanted to do something with my eyes!!!!

Qwerty we haven’t moved for almost 17 years, we downsized but because we had to for financial and work reasons. I found the whole process very stressful and would not be in our house when the estate agents did the viewings. They wanted us to do them ourselves but that is what they get paid for isn’t it?? We had our flat valued last year after the kitchen was finished and were astonished at how much it was valued at. We are refurbishing and expect the value to increase again but it doesn’t really matter as we do not plan to move. It is just nice to know that the flat is paid for and if something happens we have some money tucked under our belt.
