            Good afternoon everyone!

Lovely day here too Qwerty, enjoy your quiet day

I'm sure you will enjoy seeing your GD Nan2.

            Have a good lunch Enfys!

            How exciting Oma and Mimi

I'm tired today! I was awake for an hour or 2 during the night so maybe that is why? My mum was quite 'challenging' yesterday, and being emotionally drained is tiring too isn't it?!
Early start for us this morning, with hairdresser coming, followed by DD dropping off baby GS2. He is napping now, and hopefully will stay so for some time. I will leave him here with OH and go to school for GD in an just over an hours time. I hope I feel more awake by then!!

Challenging times ahead with the childminding Gem it's damned hard work no matter how much we love them, ......... and breathe.
Actually I didn't go to sleep till 4 this morning, there was a quad bike in the field behind us revving up and down with massive headlights on that light up the room , they were lamping for those who don't know they shine bright lights in the field so rabbits, hares etc are in there they are transfixed and don't move so then they shoot them and sell the goods, I am sure it's nor legal, I opened the blind and put the light on and stood at the window. They saw me I pretended to be on the phone 5 mins later they left down the lane ,one driving and 2 riding on the back young in theirs 20's it happens a lot.

Good afternoon, ladies! It's nice and sunny here, and gently warm. Not as warm as I'd like it, but better than it has been.

This morning I've prepped a load of food for Eva, done two loads of washing - both still out on the line, which is a joy in itself just lately! I then made a whole preserving pan full of Marrow and Tomato Chutney, using the tail end of allotment produce. Someone kindly gave us a huge bag of windfall apples, so will probably make chutney out of that, too - but not today.

While I did the chutney OH cleared a patch of weeds in the back garden that have been annoying me for ages, so it's given me the incentive to sort out the rest of that border - this afternoon's task I think!

Well after a beautiful sunny start the weather has turned very windy with showers. I had hoped to get some borders sorted ready to plant daffys but too rough.I did manage to get some primroses I bought yesterday into a tub of fresh compost. It's been so windy both today and a while ago that my top heavy runner beans have bent right over and the tops which were way above my head are now touching the ground! I'm surprised the canes haven't snapped ! Only a few more left to grow a bit more before I pick them. We've really had a bumper crop this year

I took husband to the airport to get National Express bus to Gatwick today and we discovered that not only has the price gone up by £4 each way they also now charge £2 admin fee. They said you don't get the admin fee if you book on line BUT when we checked no you don't get the admin fee but you have to pay full fare as it doesn't give you option of using your senior card. We found that going to Gatwick on the bus was less stressful (for me) as I get very wound up if the traffic slows and it always does on M25. Was talking about it last night and we could get a Premier or a deal using the internet with parking and it would cost the same. So we may not renew our cards. It mostly means that after a long haul flight I would have to drive which I prefer not to but there you go, things change.

I think his plane has landed so am just waiting for an email from him to confirm. Not so much missing him now as am used to plodding away working and him turning up but tonight is going to be difficult. I am a big baby!

He hasn't landed, I am a twit, we are five hours ahead and the landing time was British time. Should be about 8pm, he had better not interrupt my celebrities cooking programme ...... only Joking!!! Am just going to have cold chicken, mozzarella and tomato with basil for supper and then a Greek flavoured yoghurt or I might stuff some shortbread down my gob instead.

I hate being alone Gem. I find it difficult to sleep without him here even though we do not cuddle up like we used to and he snores like a train in a tunnel which means I frequently poke or slap him! I will have all the lights on through the night as well and these days I am usually in bed by now but I have spoken to him and I am not tired now but that might be because I have eaten so much shortbread and I am on a sugar high. That is another good reason for him not to go anywhere without me. I NEVER eat biscuits and things like that when he is here, if I have put any weight on it will be his fault.......

Spoke to our friend who is Peter's ex wife today as well, husband is staying with her and she kindly picked him up from the airport. It is quite difficult when you know someone so well, know she still loved him with all her heart and is on the outside of everything as she is "just" the ex wife although she was married to him for a long time. What can you say except I will be thinking of you tomorrow which she knows anyway?

I ought to think about going to bed though as I have a schedule for tomorrow (as usual). The schedule includes having a look to see if I can remember how to use the hot flat spitty thing, oh I do hope I have forgotten how to use it!

Zizi - I hope your OH has now landed safely. Treat yourself to a long luxurious bubble bath and a suitable drink!!! Sleep well.

Nanto - I bet they are very excited about the house. Have you seen it yet?

It's actually stayed nice here all day (about time, too!) and was still nice when I took Eva to the paddock about 6 pm. It took me ages to get there (3 miles away) because of heavy traffic out of the village in the (bulky) shape of a herd of cows, all heavily pregnant, lumbering their way along the road. Of course, they don't obey traffic lights so going over a single lane railway bridge right on a bend was interesting!! There was no sign of them when we came home.
