Another lovely sunny morning, slept very well so hope I am going to feel better today. Bowls day today but I don't think I feel up to playing for 2 hours in this heat. I am going to attempt to change my bed linen, GD will be back later if I can't manage it. I am enjoying watching the swimming and cycling.

You busy GM's looking after your GC, not easy in this heat, GGS hates having sunscreen applied at least they keep still when they get older.

Been for Diabetic blood results , it's coming down slowly ,
Started out at 98, then 80, last two were 77 ,now down to 70 so the goings slow but it's getting there .
I mentioned feeling poorly so she gave me a quick test just in case it was my sugar but it was fine , thinks it's just doing too much in the heat with lack of sleep , it sounds right really when I think about it .

Forgot to say , it was a naughty weekend all round for Storm , not only did he do a runner but he pulled the kitchen bin over during the night and had stuff all over then on the afternoon SIL went into the garden to see what he was hiding and found the whole cooked chicken DD had cooked ready for tea almost gone , he had stolen it off the top of the cooker .
He had no Remorse DD said he licked his lips for ages 😲😂

Good afternoon all

Its been an extremely busy weekend as we have had GSs stay ....well when I say GSs I mean one GS it just felt like more than one, more like half a dozen . Its so quiet here now. At one stage I had our neighbour's little boy here also . They played outside and I kept them supplied in drinks , it took me back to when all of our DC were little. GS went back home a few hours ago and I am worn out !

So hot here, we have the fan going full blast again. Hospital visit went OK. Our next door neighbour was in the next bay so we could chat which was nice. Poor lady was upset though....it was her late daughter’s birthday today, she died a year ago aged 43, I gave her a hug but I did feel for her. Her OH wasn’t very helpful, just told her to “buck up”!

Gomorrow we have a cream tea at Townswomens Guild then we don’t have a meeting until September, should be nice. I don’t think I’ll have any lunch 🍰

It's been another glorious day here! It is a bit cooler tonight though. They are starting to think we could have this amazing weather until the end of August. I'd choose until the end of September, but mustn't be greedy! Today has been a struggle - I'm tired after such a busy week-end and the preparation that lead up to it. Both GDs were also quite tired and not great at entertaining themselves today, although they did play hide and seek round the house for quite a while, and skipping in the garden. GD2 is 'into' stones at the moment! She brings them in from the garden, washes and dries them and leaves them all round the house! I think I'll get the paints out tomorrow and she can paint some!

Enfys I'm glad P's appointment went ok. Your poor neighbour - her husband wasn't helping at all!

Oma - good news about your blood results. Keep up the good work. Oh dear, Storm is really being naughty! I hope he didn't have any ill-effects from the cooked chicken - especially the bones!

Mimi - it's amazing how one GC can feel like 10, isn't it!!!

Plant - did you manage to do your bed ok? Glad you're feeling a bit better, but don't go overdoing things.

Nanto - it's lucky your in laws have a cool room. I'm sure they'd find the heat quite trying if their house was too hot.

Gem - OH will be getting plenty of fresh air this week with all that golf. I hope your and DD enjoyed your lunch and GS1 settled down at a reasonable time. You will be tired by the time he goes home tomorrow tea time. xx (Grauntie's not away is she?)

GS went to bed fine, but fell out later!! I heard a bang just before 10 and went rushing up.
He was hardly awake, and just said 'I fell right out of bed' and climbed back in. It is quite a high double bed. I cuddled him but he insisted he was fine and went straight back to sleep!
He is an early riser, so I am going to bed now in readiness for an earlier than usual morning!
I don't remember Grauntie saying she was going away, but she may be!

I’m here Gem! It has been a very, very busy week.We have gone from having the occasional GC to having all and sundry, feeding three families, washing numerous loads of towels, vacuuming constantly and clearing up the garden from children enjoying themselves. I am beyond weary but I wouldn’t change a thing. Normal life has happened too, the phone line into the house has gone kaput, OH has had his lugholes syringed at long last and now we can have the TV at a normal sound level.
2 GCs expected at 7.30 tomorrow so I must away to my bed. Glad to see you are all behaving with the exception of Storm. Fancy putting a chicken within sniffing reach! 🤣😂😆😁 That is so funny, sorry Oma. 😆

GM what a hectic week but it's memories you won't forget 😊
SIL said Storm had to negotiate pans that were on the range top in front of the Chicken to get to it , but he's quite a tall Dog on his hind legs , he's taller than me so he must have just lifted it up 😊
Daisy he had left the carcass thank goodness as cooked bones as you know are not good for them , he had just finished off the meat when SIL caught him 😲.

Well GS1 rang about 4 pm he was out with his friends swimming at Wet & Wild but was tired so could Grandad pick him up .
Thought he was going straight home but no he wanted to come back to ours to "chill" as he put it ,
Once hear he stripped off and settled in to stay till I pointed out he has Training today and it's Grans turn to have him so he stayed till 10 then SIL came for him , he wasn't happy he had to go home 😊
Can't sleep so I'm going to potter round clean tables etc till I can , other GC on holiday hoping for a text tomorrow GS2 said he would weather he remembers is another thing he will be too busy having a good time 😊
