It sounds as though some of you have been having extreme weather! After all that heat and sunshine I don't suppose the gardens know what to make of it. But it sounds quite scary.

Enfys - I hope P is feeling better tomorrow. We've had no rain either, just some dark clouds, and a lot colder and windy.

WeeGranny - did you get used to the upside down seasons in Australia?

Nanto - what a lovely young lady your R is.

Gem - your poor thumb, it certainly been in the wars just lately. I'm glad it didn't encounter a dog as well! You've certainly had some spectacular weather. My friend who travelled to York yesterday said there were lots of cancellations and delays en route!

Mimi - don't count your chickens yet about the weather. According to the Met Office we're due for rain from about 3 am until 5 pm tomorrow, 18-20C but feeling more like 13-14C

Oma - I hope you're ok. You need more practise at partying day in day out, young lady! Seriously I do hope you're ok.

I managed to get a few chores done this morning, then after lunch we met up with DIL2, the girls and Cooper to give the dog a run in the paddock (DS2 didn't come as he's not very well). Eva and Cooper had a fantastic time playing, and Eva has only woken up to eat her dinner! Both GDs collected a small bag of fir cones for some craft projects, and then collected more to put in our friends' bag of cones to go on the fire in the winter. Mummy is a wizz at devising clever things to make.

We phoned GS1 to say Happy Birthday, and had a chat about his party next week. He's had a reconditioned iPhone from the whole family for his birthday and he's delighted with it. I can't believe he's 15. Where did all those years go!

The noise today was loud as there was about 30 people there and music going so having to shout a lot ,
As you can see by the time though im still not getting sleep no matter how tired I am

I used to love picking Pine cones with the boys , we have several Pine trees behind our house so very handy , Christmas was a dip in Glue and Glitter time , and making them into little Santa's or Elves

Good morning Nan2 and everyone else.

As the song says "It's raining again!" According to the forecast it will not rain this afternoon (apart from a possible thunderstorm at 3! ) My OH will be playing golf from 11.15.

My mum is coming to lunch. No roast as I thought it would be too hot!! We are having sandwiches, quiche, strawberries and ice cream, and cake. Mum favours little and often eating, so she can dip into this sort of meal.

Have a good day everyone. Oma, I hope you got to sleep!

Rain forecast for us all day, I do hope that is not the end of our summer. Quite cool and windy too, I hate wind. I was thinking of going to JL today to return a dress, will see how the morning pans out. DD. SIL and GD2 were in London yesterday, DD was at the Hilton, making her own perfume (a Christmas present) GD1 and SIL went and cleared her remaining items out of her flat. Haven't seen baby E or his parents recently perhaps they will pop in today. Had a lovely sleep as it was a lot cooler.

I am sure your mum will enjoy her lunch Gemini and a change of scene.

Oma I hope you got some sleep, I expect you had an overactive brain.

                          Afternoon.

We’ve had torrential rain on and off and high winds. I had to tie the runner bean poles to the fence to prevent them being blown over as they are doing really well and have got top heavy.
Poor plants were literally dying of thirst this time last week and now they are being battered all over the place. A lovely gladiolus snapped off and the cosmos are kissing the ground.
Last Sunday my neighbour’s son who has rather a “bad boy” reputation offered to cut our leylandi hedges.I accepted gratefully but my neighbour on the other side said to be careful and not leave anything valuable where he could see it or let him in the house. Well I take people as I find them but agreed to be watchful. Anyway he did a really good job but I think it took him longer than he thought it would. His Mum and his 5 year old son helped me sweep up.I gave him some cash though he had said originally he didn’t want anything.

Qwerty,I also cut my OH’s hair this morning. I’m not very good at it but he won’t go to the barbers..

We had a walk and though it was windy it was very warm.Lots of people on the beach risking the rain.

Hope your day is going well

Well GS1 has just turned up , he's decided he's staying the night , I always know when he comes in and strips off that he's staying .
Had to ring DD to let her know and SIL is bringing his football gear over as he has a 3 hour training session in the morning ,

He always comes in hungry so another lot of food to cook as we had already had our tea , its lovely though that at almost 14 he still wants to stay with us

I think you are right to trust your neighbour Clover, whilst being naturally careful.

Mum stayed until almost 7, so I guess she enjoyed herself! She didn't eat an awful lot, but I sent her off with a little pack up for later
