    Good moaning Each.
Blowing a gale and pouring down here too! Just watching the cat who obviously has an urgent call to make outside. Cat going out, drowned rat coming in. 😾

Much fresher today, we must have had some more rain in the night borders quite damp. I should get the car out and go to the parade to collect a duvet from the cleaners and visit Boots and Post Office but it could wait until next week, it gets quite busy there at the weekend.

Sounds as if we all had some rain some more than others, that will cool things down a bit but hope the sunshine stays with us.

          Morning ladies ,
Well it rained so hard last night I awoke to my poor flowers looking bedraggled ,
Garden covered in Begonia heads , Geraniums almost flat and petals everywhere , The poor delicate pinks were badly damaged , Daliha's (sp) have stood up well
Just been out and tried to sort them out but everything is so wet
Even the soil in the pots had been lifted and was on the grass and splashed up the patio windows from the ones nearer them ,
Its very dark and stormy looking at the minute ,
Got another Birthday party today im shattered from last night ,

Got a text from SIL they were going to London today for her Birthday treat but Martin has food poisoning , he was the only one of 18 of us who had Prawns ,
She said he's been up all night with S&D and is wobbly on his legs , so far haven't heard if anyone else has been effected just him so sounds like the Prawns

            Good morning all.
            Oh poor BIL, Oma

            Well, what a night here!!
Severe thunderstorms and hail began around 6. Large hailstones like big marbles, rain that felt as though it was being thrown at the house from huge buckets, it was awful. As Oma describes, battered flowers, branches off trees etc. Our road was flooded. Luckily by the time we set off just after 7 to collect our friend the flooding had subsided to manageable pools and the rain was taking a break . It was still hot, so OH and I decided to wear what we would have worn anyway (Summer dress for me, cut offs and cap sleeve top for her) and if we got wet we got wet!

The meal and company was lovely and by the time we left the restaurant it was fine.
It rained again in the night, and is raining now.
I was a casualty of the storm! In my haste to close the conservatory door against the massive hailstones, I managed to trap my thumb in the hing part of the door. Big painful bruising under my thumb nail. It even hurts to type!

            Have a good day everyone

                Ouch, Gem!

Well, it rained in the night but not much evidence this morning. I’d left a bucket on the patio expecting it to be quite full this morning...there was a tiny dribble in the bottom and the water butts don’t seem to be any different. It was very windy and certainly feels fresher this morning.

Nothing planned here today, DH feeling a bit tired so is taking it easy. It’s usually about now he feels the effect of the chemo but only for a day or two so not too bad. I didn’t get my planned jobs done yesterday so hopefully will today. Went over to DDs yesterday to admire her new(to her) car and spent longer there than planned.

Heard from DGD in Oz...she is chasing the sun as it’s been very cold in Adelaide where she was spending some time with DS so she is planning to go north. She is missing all our hot summer weather! She even went and bought a hot water bottle!

Have a good day everyone, 🌞

Morning all . We had rain in the night but by the morning it looked as if we hadn't had a drop. It so windy the one hanging basket has been blown down. We did have a heavy storm an hour ago but the sun is out again. We had been promised rain tomorrow . In this neck of the woods we have come off lightly compared to our ladies on here.

Thank you admin for my lovely ecard It was a lovely surprise .

                  Gem how is the thumb

Grauntie poor cat , they don't like getting wet do they

Well we managed to get our leaflets delivered without getting rained on!

A dog tried to get me through the letterbox though, and it wasn't easy with a sore thumb, but we have done it
Thumb is bearable thanks those who asked! Bruised under the nail, swollen and with small cut on the thumb pad. This is the same thumb which I burned last week
I have just realised that I will be unable to work until it heals (my right thumb is my main 'tool' ) and I have a client on Monday.

We had heavy rain this morning, but it had stopped by the time we went into town.
Parked up at Asda about 2ish,and the weather was lovely.
½ an hour later it had rained heavily when we came out.
Thought i would put an updated photo of R on.

Thank you Admin for the e-card! I'm just about to enjoy an afternoon drink...may be wine rather than tea!

Enfys, the first year we were in Australia we laughed at the shops with winter clothes and people wearing boots and warm jumpers! We hadn't acclimatised.......but the following year we were all prepared with coats, scarves etc! So I know how your GD is feeling!

Sun has been shining most of the day but there's a very strong wind. Lots of bits of trees on the road to Ely this morning and in spite of all last night's rain, not much change in the colour of fields and lawns.

Have a good evening everyone x

Still waiting for the promised rain, we’ve had a couple of short showers but it’s meant to rain all night from 8 onwards. We shall see. ☔️

More heavy rain here, and a beautiful rainbow. The cats are happier with the cooler temperatures, but not the rain! Cooking is possible again too

I hope your headache goes soon Oma..
