My GP has just phoned me about the results of my MRI scan , apparently I have disc disease, basically most of the discs on my spine are compressed, hence the pain which I have been told I have to live with ! He said its from a combination of wear and tear and 'birthdays ' ( How very dare he !)

I presume that means they cannot do anything, sorry to hear that. Love a doctor with a sense of humour Mimi

Oh Mimi what is that Doctor implying same old here, walkies, a bit of housework. Hope to pack a few boxes this afternoon in prep for clearing kitchen, time for a mass clear out I think. Hubby is assembling units in the spare room, no profanities have been heard as yet.

Oma, we were online and posting at the same time this morning. I saw yours unapproved and approved both our posts. I can only presume we were both trying to approve it at the same time and I got there first!

I think Wear and Tear is what most of us are suffering from Mimi!

Great news Oma. .Go Mr O!

Freezing out. I walked to the shops, less than 10 minutes away, and I was glad of my fur lined hood. Brrrr!

I certainly think it is our coldest day, can't lift the lids of the refuse bins. Topped up everything for the birds.

Oma and Gem - I was fiddling about in Admin, so that's perhaps why you had trouble approving - I noticed a couple of unapproveds and did them, but didn't really look to see whose they were.

Oma - that is such great news. I think someone should write a medical text book about Mr Oma - he's breaking all records on the road to recovery. xx

Mimi - how depressing. I think I would ask for a second opinion. I know it may be the same outcome, but it might not be. It's worth a try and there are new treatments coming out all the time for spinal wear and tear.

LG - are you excited about getting the kitchen done? I know it's because you want to put the house on the market, but I'm sure you will enjoy your new kitchen while you're still there.

It's really biting cold here as well today. We've got the heating on and the house still feels chilly, and I'm wearing trousers with a nice warm lining, a polo neck top and a big fluffy top over it - and I'm still not warm.

Do you have any of those boot type slippers Daisy? I have pair of those and a pair of ballerina style. When it's cold I wear the boot ones and am never cold, in fact I often kick them off as I'm too hot!

Gem - yes, I've got a pair of thick knitted ones with 'proper' slipper soles, but since I had plantar fasciitis a few years ago I can't wear them all day because there's no support in them. I do wear them when I'm sitting down, and I've treated myself to some thermal socks to wear with crocs, which is what I generally wear in the house.

                            Yours sound nice and cosy!

If have some boot slippers but they are too hot for me. I have some ballerina ones as well with big fluffy bobbles on. They are one size and I only have little size five feet but they were too tight for me at the back so I have trodden the backs down and now they are comfy.

My ribs are exceptionally painful today. I should have been in town yesterday on a course but decided it wasn't a good idea as too much sitting still seems to make me seize up. I went to east London today to a site which used to be part of Barts hospital. It was a good meeting and I feel like I achieved more today than I have in almost eighteen months with that particular site. I got agreement for a site visit for construction studies from Lambeth, London; four seperate visits from 13 X students on the National Citizenship Programme; two one week work experience placements and four two week work experience placements, there are also a few other things we discussed which will be considered. A good result I think.

I got back to the car park at the tube station and some inconsiderate, selfish, arrogant person had parked on the verge behind me and not in a parking bay. My car is very long and it took ages for me to get out nudging backwards and forwards in inches. I was so annoyed I wrote a note and out it on the windscreen of the massive four by four telling them how selfish they are and advising them that next time I will not be so careful and they might have paint on their car, it will not bother me, I have a company car........ Well yes it would bother me and I wouldn't deliberately damage anyone's property but it was the last thing I needed with being in pain and having to manoeuvre my car from a tight space with a big van next to me and a little Audi sports car the other side.

Now I am quite exhausted and need a lie down.......

Oma your Brian is a little miracle,so pleased everything is going so well for him. Gem I have indoor Uggs all furry lined,I am like my Father was and always have feet like blocks of ice. While out with Shiloh today the wind was so cold I couldn't feel my fingers and that was with wearing thermal gloves. Daisy I am looking forward to having the kitchen done, even if only for a short time or not whichever way things go. Matt ad Jay will be here at 3pm tomorrow to start, let the mayhem commence . Cracked ribs are mighty painful ZIZI,I cracked a few many years ago,and breathing is agony. Rest is the only cure.
