Just a quick hello, before i go and peel the potatoes, like to get them done before i go to parents.
Have got a lamb fillet and pork fillet in the slow cooker.
Rosie coming straight from school, then her dad will pick her up when he finishes at work, so i do a roast dinner for them as well.

Oh Gem, what a rotten time you are having.Hope you've nipped the cystitis in the bud, and feel better soon.
Daisy, ironing is that thing you do with a hot flat plate, as a few members call it. Gets creases out of things.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Good morning all. I'm up,bright and early for a change as I start invigilating today for two, weeks. My bag is packed, lunch is sorted and I. Ready for the off. Haven't looked outside yet so don't know what the weather is like but it doesn't feel as cold.

Gem, sorry to hear your feeling rough, cystitis is horrible. Have you tried drinking cranberry juice? Hope you feel better soon.

      have a good day ladies

Morning all....not doing much today just going to try and get this house in some sort of order, total tip, every room...DD1 moved out in June so been going to decorate her room since then, still a load of shoes and handbags, cuddly toys etc, she promised to get them out before Christmas but still here, so think I will have to get my nagging head on.....

Gem I sympathise, Cystitis is the worst feeling, the only thing I can do to get rid of it is antibiotics from the doctors, nothing over the counter works for me, hope yours has gone.....x

Hope everything goes well at hospital Oma xx

            Good morning everyone.

It is milder here today - but dark and damp!

Pearl - I hope you get everything done today that you want too. Sometimes it seems like a mountain doesn't it!

Enfys - I hope everything goes well. Invigilating isn't as easy as it looks. I hope when you get home you can put your feet up and relax.

Gem - I do hope you're feeling a bit better this morning. If not, I think you should go to the doctors. You don't want to be struggling with cystitis while you're recovering from your op. xxx

Nanto - I'm impressed how you get dinner organised in a morning. I can't even think about food, let alone prepare it. But how lovely to come home to a good meal in the slow cooker.

GDs day for me today, but have a few chores to do before picking GD2 up from playgroup.

              Good morning everyone.
The miserable painful bout of cystitis has passed. It started when I was at my mums yesterday afternoon and got worse and worse. However, by halfway through the night I was painlessly peeing! I drank lots of water and a couple of the cystitis sachets. I also made cinnamon tea, with a cinnamon stick, as I remember reading that was helpful. Whatever did it it is gone now. However if it recurs I will be phoning the Dr for a prescription for antibiotics. As you say Daisy there is only so much you can deal with at once!!

Today we are collecting GS1 from preschool and bringing him back here. It's ages since we saw him!

Nothing planned today, very damp and drizzle here today. I am thinking of going back to bowls this afternoon in the hope they have found the reason for my falling, I hope.

Gem so sorry you have another medical problem, I have just finished antibiotics for an upper urinary infection myself.

Hope the hospital visit goes well Oma, will Brian be wearing his new coat.

Gem are you feeling better ?
Oma hope the hospital visit goes well.
Plant, it would be good to find out why you are having these falls. You've not got an inner year infection have you ?

Have a lovely day everyone x

We went to the cinema to see "La La Land" We enjoyed it as it was a bit different. Nice music and dancing if you like that sort of thing. It's had a lot of good reviews, deservedly I think.Anyone else seen it yet?

Oma, I forbid you to worry about me, you have enough to worry about! !
Yesterday wasn't such a good day. My scars were painful when I was out, and then the dreaded cystis, which for several hours was awful .
Today is a better day. We collected GS1 from preschool and brought him back here. He was the lovable charming little boy he can be, the whole time he was with us

Clover, I was thinking of seeing that film.

Clover we have just come back from seeing the film La La Land. I thought the ending was sort of sad. I love musicals and dancing films so it suited me very well. Not sure husband thought as much of it as me but at least he didn't fall asleep and snore (which is one of the reasons we rarely go to the pictures). What I did find was that everything was so loud. I stuffed bits of tissue in my ears because the sound was actually hurting my ears. Next time I will take my work H&S ear buds with me!

Because I have not been well recently, depressed and generally low plus physical illness, husband said we should have a date night at least once a fortnight as a treat to keep spirits up. I am not good at the box thing Gem has written about. We so rarely go out in the evenings to be honest so we went for an early dinner, I returned mine to the kitchen as the prawns were tough, the chicken was dry and the cheese and bacon filled potato skins had obviously been sitting there for ages as the cheese was rock hard. So that was not a great success! Then we went to the pictures £25.98 worth EEEKKKKK 😱😱.

So so the other thing was, waiting for the bus to come home (I have become a wimp and don't like driving in the dark), I checked my emails to see that Wren Kitchens with whom I have been arguing about my claim, more on that in a minute, have made a full and final settlement offer for fifteen weeks of absolute hell and angst of the grand sum of £950! I sent all the scanned claim documents three times and have delivery receipts for them and last week when I chased it up they said they had not received them. I printed everything off including almost two dozen emails and sent via signed for recorded delivery. It arrived with them this morning. Talk about rubbing salt in the wound, adding insult to injury, taking the P etc. etc. I think I can safely say most of you know what my response is going to be. I am so angry that I want to fire off a very, very rude email to them and put it all over social media to shame them but I am going to sit tight, let my anger subside and consider the next step. In truth I am extremely upset that they have almost dismissed our distress out of hand so I am having a gin and tonic to soothe my nerves. I don't have to drive tomorrow so I might even have a couple more........

Yesterday (Sunday) we got up early because we made arrangements to go and see the children and drop their goodie bags and pocket money off. Both sets of parents said to come early. Up at 7am over to Shepperton, parked far away as road is very narrow and although not a lot of dropped pavements people park on their drives. Knock knock, ring ring, nothing. Rang mobiles, nothing. Left goodies on doorstep. Over to Sunbury knock knock, ring ring. Rang mobiles nothing. Left Ben's goodie bag. I was in a very bad mood on the way back home. We haven't seen the children since our Family Christmas and it wasn't like we didn't make arrangements. Both sons phoned and said they didn't hear us. Not sure how they didn't hear us considering we knocked, rang door bells and mobiles. The round trip is almost twenty miles which is not thst far but even so.

Sorry to to all of you who are poorly and whose OHs are poorly I know I sound like a complete bruddy wimp. I think I might be in need of more than a couple of gin and tonics, maybe a head transplant?

Zizi - I'm glad you enjoyed LaLa Land. I don't often go to the cinema (and I hate it being too loud as well) but I would like to see this film, especially as it is being billed as a 'feel good' film. We need that at this dreary time of year.

Don't give up on the date nights - I'm sure they can only improve! xx I would be pretty upset about neither family hearing you at the door! As for the kitchen disaster - well, words fail me.

Gem - do you think you were overdoing things yesterday? It's still not long since your op, and you really do need to be kind to yourself. I'm so glad the cystitis has gone - well done for coping with it. I bet seeing GS1 did you good as well.

Plant - Did you go to bowls and were you ok? I do hope so.

Oma - I'm so glad you were in and out of the hospital quickly with your smart young man in his new coat. xx

It's been one of those days for me today. DIL2 (GDs' mum) is poorly with badly swollen glands and cold and chest pain. She's previously had a collapsed lung and also pneumonia, so DS1 made sure she went to the doctors today. He thinks the chest pain is just muscle strain, so that was a relief. The girls should have gone for their flu 'jabs' as well today (GD1 got missed off the list at school, so hasn't had it) but the surgery phoned to say they were out of vaccine and won't have any in for 10 days! Anyway, DIL was too poorly to go to work and was in bed when I got there with GD2, but she came down for lunch and then GD2 wouldn't go down for her nap. I have a routine with her and she never makes more than a token protest, but today she screamed and screamed and wouldn't co-operate. So she ended up tired and tetchy, and then got very boisterous with GD1. I knew GS1 is off school with a fluey-cold, now DIL1 has got it as well, only worse, and DS1 is in Denmark, so she's on her own with the boys! It all happens at once, and I can't go up and help tomorrow because I've got the girls.

Enjoyed my bowlsling, it was lovely to see my bowling friends and I played quite well considering I hadn't played for a while

so sorry you didn't see your grandchildren Zizi, early to them means before lunch
