    Afternoon all
Oma how awful for your neighbour and her family . Do you remember many, many years ago one of the elected government at the time ( don't know which ) , decided that people with mental health issues should be encouraged to leave more independent lives by moving out of institutions and into the community. It was labelled 'Care in the Community' and although the idea was a good one the funds were never invested in the actual 'Care' package and the slack had to be picked up by the family and in some cases it just doesn't work and with even more cut backs in just gets worse. As you say, life is never easy.

We were going to go out today but as I seem to have aggravated my back and hip from all the gardening yesterday we thought it best to rest up today

We had a nice night out with friends last night. A meal out then back to theirs for coffee. Have any of you ever left your socks in a restaurant?? I did I was hot, so surreptitiously managed to remove my shoes and socks under the table and put my shoes back on, meaning to find or ask OH to find my socks before we left. I forgot. At our friends house I settled back on their reclining sofa, feet up on the footrest, and saw my bare feet inside my shoes I am too embarrassed to go back and say I left my socks under the table, so goodbye socks!!

A most welcome nothing-to-do day today. I can stay at home and not wear a bra, which are now all tight on the left side. I did some housework this morning, and am now tired, so feet up. OH is tackling the ironing, but I intend to do nothing else

Gem, you have made me chuckle

Oma it's so sad to hear about your neighbour. Her poor daughter must be as scared as the elderly couple.

Gem ,that sock incident also made me laugh. I hope you do manage a quiet afternoon and maybe even.a Nana nap.It must be heartening to think you only have one treatment left.We all knew you could do it.

A pottering sort of day for me today. We had a walk along the cliffs this morning as I like to get out every day. I think a bit of gardening may be on the cards. The ground is so dry that some of the plants are beginnng to droop.I think rain is forecast so a nice shower in the night would be perfect.

Gem, love the tale about the socks.

Gem - I hope they weren't your favourite socks, and I wonder if the staff at the restaurant played the 'guess who owned the socks' game! At least it was only socks!!! Unlike Nanto, but she did have a reason to be undressed - in a sauna!

LG, I'm sorry to hear about your step-brother. I hope his wife is ok.

Oma - your poor neighbour, and I feel very sorry for her daughter, and for your elderly neighbours. As Mimi said, Care in the Community sounded like a good idea!

Clover - did the sun shine for your clifftop walk? It got quite nice and warm here this afternoon. I fully expected rain because I watered the back garden last night - everything is so dry.

Well after more social workers back and forwards then health care nurse firstly her father arrived to remove her car , then Two Dr's arrived . They spent about hour with her came out and sat filling forms in ,in their car then went away , at 9.30 a Ambulance arrived , the Dr had sectioned her they had to sedate her for everyone's safety , she's a large very strong woman so I could understand why , Shortly after 10 her Mother knocked to say she was taking the granddaughter to stay with her and took several cases with them so it seems they expect her to be in Hospital quite some time , One poor social worker had been there 11 hours apart from about 30 minutes he went away somewhere ,he must have been exhausted . She will be cared for and hopefully encouraged to take her meds that's the main thing

Oma, what a day with your neighbour. At least she will get the care she needs.

                  Good morning everyone.
Oma, social workers get a lot of criticism but they work hard and they have a lot of hard issues to deal with. Hopefully your neighbour will soon be able to go back to lead an independent life with the right support.
Not sure what we have planned today apart from popping to the supermarket to buy flowers for tomorrow and cooking lamb shank for lunch !

                    Good morning

Lunch at DD1s today, so it will be less embarrassing if I leave my socks under the table (which I have, more than once at DD2's when we have had big family meals!)

GS1 wants me to play with him with various toys, so we will aim to be there by 11. We are dropping him off at DD3's in the afternoon. SIL3 can do magic, so GS is very excited

I think we will walk round our village and see some of the scarecrows this afternoon.

                    Happy Sunday everyone!

Welcome home Avo What a lovely place to spend your Birthday in
We out with family for lunch , I have cleaned downstairs to within a inch of its life , washed Sofa.s down ,
Descaled my Iron ,its a ton weight its one of these tank steam affairs and only place I can stand it to descale is outside as the descale fitting only fit on the outside tap , I'm thinking of getting a newer model I have had this about 8 years now if not more .
Put a load of towels in the wash after I had my shower so they should be done soon ,
I was going to hoover bedrooms and stairs but B in the middle of sorting the sliding wardrobes in the spare room out , and stuff all over so will wait till we come back from lunch,.

We are thinking of taking them out and getting free standing wardrobes , we put them in when the boys were little fitted them out with deep shelves and I had all their toys in boxes on the shelves as we used it as a toy and play room , now they just are a place to store more junk so out with the old in with the new I think
