Oma I hope poor Brian doesn't find he procedure too uncomfortable but I expect he'll take it in his stride as usual.

Gem I know you feel okay and that's great but you must pace yourself and not overdo things.

It's been wet here all day from about 9 a.m and dark and gloomy.I made myself do some much needed general tidying up but ran out of steam pretty soon as I am still coping with a cold and I did do my usual cleaning job this morning.Still a couple of loads of washing to do tomorrow and Christmas decoration boxes to go in loft.

Now to decide what to have for our meal tonight. I think I'll go down the unhealthy but easy route of sausage,egg,chips and beans. At least the beans count as one of the five a day.

It's yummy food, not unhealthy. You want something to stick to your ribs this weather. And clover you could always add a couple of grilled tomatoes - the colour always looks nice.

I had a nice afternoon with mum. We had tea and cakes and a good chat and watched Tipping Point . OH got some shopping for her. She was pleased to see me. 2 DDs and both GSs are poorly, so no little visitors for me, as they don't want to pass anything on to me.

I know I should rest, and I am. I find it hard seeing OH doing everything though!

Gem I bet your Mum enjoyed her afternoon with you and reassured her you are doing well after your op.Sorry more of your family are under the weather. These bugs go round and round.and though you miss seeing the little ones it's far better to keep clear. The last thing you need is an infection of some sort.

LOL - there's always tomato ketchup - it's bright and shiny, and must be healthy if it's got tomatoes in it.

I ended up defrosting chicken fillets and mixing them all up in the wok with leftover veggies and some noodles that can go straight from packet to wok. Sometimes you just get lucky with pot luck food. There was some root ginger in the fridge which had gone a bit stringy so I peeled a chunk, cut it in half and threw it in with the other bits and pieces. I took it out before dishing up and it was just enough to give a nice bit of warmth to a pretty boring makeshift meal. But I would happily have done fish fingers ships and beans, but we had no chips in and only gluten-free fish fingers!

Oma - I agree a well-behaved patient gets better faster!

Gem - I'm glad you had a nice afternoon with your Mum, but what a shame two of your DDs and both GSs are poorly. You'll miss your cuddles, but it's better not to risk getting their bugs and spots. xx

Morning ladies I've done my cleaning washed all the floors and had a shower , I'm now sitting with a nice slice of toast and a cup of tea. Apart from about 8 items to iron later I have absolutely nothing else to do so a nice lazy day for me 😊 have a good day ladies hope them babies are feeling better Gem and you too xxx

Sunny here atm. DD, SIL and GD have gone to London, they are going to do a walk from a book of recommended walks around London, they have done some in the past and much enjoyed them. My GD has had a weeks holiday and has walked me off my feet around various shops, I think it is good for me. During her week off she has been looking after 4 dogs for a friend in the village, sleeping there and walking them. What is your opinion as to what she should charge. Since people know she will do this she is having a few requests to look after dogs and horses and is reluctant to ask for too much, she has charged the latest one £20 per day which amounted to £100.

Good morning everyone.
I had a long night sleep! I went up to watch TV on the bed at 8 as OH was watching a football match downstairs. I thought I may have nap but in fact I dozed through about half an hour of TV, switched it off and slept on! I awoke at 11.30 and went down to take my bedtime BP tablet, go to the loo and brush my teeth. Then apart from another night-time loo vist, I slept until almost 7. It would do my body good, lots of healing takes place when we sleep.

Oma, you need that so called lazy day!

Plant I have a friend in the Southhampton area who does dog walking and pet sitting as s job. I will message her and ask what she charges, for your GDs information.

DD2 is calling round this afternoon on her way to see 2 of her best friends. She is feeling a lot better. It will be lovely to see her. I am literally aching to see and hold the baby. Babies have these magical effects on us, don't they?!
