I hope you get some rest Oma, take it easy xx
Clover, making a Christmas cake is much more fun than hoovering

Well today can only get better. It took me an hour to drive the 30 minute drive to GS's school due to 3 way temporary traffic lights. I was 15 minutes late picking him up. Then he didn't want to come with me, as he expected mummy. He's not a child that copes well with the unexpected. Only my cat waitng for him at home persuaded him to leave!! Because I was so late I parked in a different road, closer to school. It was pouring with rain. I got GS strapped in, wasn't really looking and forgot there was tall kerb on that stretch of road and fell. Wet coat and trousers, sore hip. Of course it had to be my bad knee side of the body. I was a bit shaken, but picked myself up and drove us home. It took a long time of course due to the roadworks and temporary traffic lights. As I say, it can only get better!

          S

Mimi suggested I put the stocking on I'm looking for. It's a Morrison's one from last yr. I need two more if anyone's got any spares they might be throwing out. I think the other design is a Santa. I'll willingly pay & p&p if anyone has any spares. Thanks.

(thrilled I can post pics on iPad. Failed on mobile).

Oma. I've tried putting them on my media. Do they show on there? 😳

Oma - no wonder you can't sleep at the moment, but hopefully once b is in hospital and everything is happening your head will stop spinning. xxx

Gem - ouch! Have you got arnica (cream and pills) for any bruising? Take it easy and rest your knee if you can. It's typical once one thing goes wrong everything does.

I collected GD2 from playgroup in a torrential downpour - we were both soaked through, and she was wearing wellies and her splash suit. Then we couldn't park near to their house so had to brave the weather again, with Eva as well, and she's not great on the lead. The approach to their house is tiled and is incredibly slippy, and uneven, so I was really worried either Eva or GD would pull me over, but they were both very good.

Clover - at least the weather saved you from too much hoovering!

LG - dusting the tops of things? That's what happens when you retire. When I retired a friend said she'd give me just one piece of advice - don't let your house be cleaner or tidier than it is right now. I've erred on the side of caution every since.

The rain is getting worse it's never stopped for hours now the wind is getting up its lashing the windows , had to lock the letterbox down its banging and rattling , moved a couple of tubs I have in front of front canopy and put them against the wall only out about 3 minutes and I got soaked , I feel sorry for all those people flooded , I remember a few years ago when the old people's bungalows were flooded at the bottom of our street , thankfully the council put flood drains in but it must make them worry when it's like this

Gem I hope you're not feeling too stiff and sore after your tumble.
My Christmas cake looks okay. It's now wrapped up safely I probably won't "feed" it with any alcohol as the fruit soaked in sherry and we don't like it too boozy
I think it's stopped raining here - not before time.

Clover, well done on the Christmas cake. Much more sensible than hoovering!
Very wet here. DD was totally soaked when she got here after work.
I'm a bit achey and sorry for myself, but I will live! I got into my pyjamas before 7, and have taken it easy all night. I was dreading tomorrow with 3 clients because of my knee, even before I fell today. 2 of the clients, a couple, had to postpone, which was a relief to me!

Thanks Oma. Hopefully the rain has stopped for you. I hope you get a better night tonight. It must all be very unsettling for you. As they say the sooner it comes, the sooner it's over.😘

OH took pooch out for his last walk of the day (not that he wanted to go in the stormy weather) but he'd no option with OH at the other end of the lead.
Gem really sorry to hear you fell. As has been said, I hope you're not too sore. Lucky you had cancellations. Daisy you take care too....sounds slippy out there.
Clover I managed to make my Christmas cakes & puds & have just fed the cakes once as they're quite boozy too. Don't they smell yummy when they're cooking?
Nan2 certainly picked a good time to fly the country. Galeforce here this morning so I hope her flight went to plan.

Sorry to read about your fall Gemini, you must have been shaken up as well as bruised.

                                Good morning everyone.

Plant the worst thing was lying on the pavement, not knowing how badly injured I was, half an hour from home, with a 4 year old in the car. Could have been worse!

I have one client today a 4.30 home visit. I hope I don't have to park too far from his house. I need to go to the Halifax for my mum. Otherwise I'm staying at home today.

                                Have a good day everyone.
