Good morning everyone.
A wise decision Oma.
I hope Zizi and Nan2 are enjoying the sun
Today we are going to Donna Nook, to see the seals. I wrote about this a couple of years ago, and today we are going again. This time with 3 of OHs golfing friends. They will come here, we will all go in OHs car, then warm up afterwards with lunch somewhere. It is a couple of hours drive and always really cold out where the seals are. This week last year was the highest for seal pups, so hopefully we will see plenty today!
Keep warm and well everyone.
Donna Nook is well known for its population of grey seals visiting in the winter months, as well as its array of bird life. Find out when to visit, how to get here, and what facilities this nature reserve has to offer.

Enjoy your day Gem it sounds lovely.
I have woken up this morning feeling brighter than I have for the last couple of months so I am hopeful that this horrid vertigo is finally going. Managed to turn over in bed and get up with a minimum of giddiness, fingers crossed. Doc also increased my meds for bp so am hopeful about that too
i am am now waiting for my friend to pick me up and we are out for the morning, coffee and chat....and maybe shopping. Have a good day everyone ☀️

I sent you a PM only I am not sure you got it as I couldn't remember how to do it! Hope all goes well and I am sure Brian is very nervous but you are an incredibly brave and together couple, you can do it. X
re furniture - when we moved from big four bed house to small two bed maisonette we had to get ride of most of our furniture. We kept fridge freezer, futon from spare room to use as a sofa until we got a new one, bedroom furniture i.e two bedside tables and matching large chest of drawers and a few bits that were heirlooms like my grandad's Windsor chair, we also had a chapel table and three chapel chairs which we used for a dining table (our orevious one was a sixteen seater so would have taken the entire sitting room). At that point we were very broke and went to IKEA and spent about a thousand pounds which as all we had left on a flat pack three piece suite, a table that you can put the chairs folded underneath and other bits. You have never seen a Renault 5 so full of stuff!
We we still have the table and chairs as we have never found anything that folds quite so small so it is very handy but the folding chairs usually stay underneath these days as we use the chapel chairs, much more comfortable, we replaced the suite long ago but I want a new one now only I want a sofa and two chairs but not all matching. Problem when we had the new sofas some years ago, because our very windy hall way we had to have the windows in the sitting room taken out to get it in!!If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together

Oma, it's natural for you both to be nervous. This is a big step, which has been a long time coming, after so many setbacks. A wonderful step, which will give both of you your lives back!
Your friends here really are here for you, as we are for all members needing support.
We had a great day at Donna Nook. Many many seals, a good meal, good company. We got home just before 7, so a long day!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Good morning Oma, and everyone.
Oma - I hope B had a good night. Did you get any sleep? xx
Enfys - It was lovely to hear how much better you're feeling. Did you enjoy your day yesterday?
Nanto and Zizi - I'm there in spirit with you in that lovely sunshine.
Gem - Hope there are no ill effects from your long day out. It was worth it though, to see so many seals.
I'm meeting up with old friends from college for lunch today. The sun's shining, so there should be the added bonus of being able to sit warm and cosy in the golf club with a fabulous view over the Solent and the Needles. My OH is also looking forward to the day ahead - he's collecting an apple tree. No, not a sapling for our garden, but a very old diseased one which was felled yesterday.
