We have just cleared the kitchen ready for the new installation tomorrow. There wasn't a lot in there to be honest as we haven't got the stuff out of the loft or the boxes. Seriously not looking forward to it. Going to lunch today at a pub on the other side of the airport, get the bus in the perimeter road and ten minute walk. Really nice food and I can have some wine because I am not driving. Have to clean the bathroom AGAIN this afternoon as the wind and rain yesterday combined with the open window and aircraft emmisions has made it very dusty. Bruddy black stuff everywhere, I should have closed the window really but it was so humid the last couple of days

Zizi - it must be really difficult in hot or humid weather when you're that close to the airport.

I hope you're had a lovely lunch and that things go well tomorrow. I'm keeping all fingers and toes crossed it goes smoothly this time. xx

I never close our bathroom window in summer or winter, but at the moment we have zillions of millions of silver birch seedy things coming down all the time.It gets in through the windows.

Well the day is here. I am up and ready to leave the house. I just don't want to be here. I don't even want the bruddy kitchen now.

LIbra I don't usually have windows closed to be honest but I know, after living here so long, what happens in certain weather conditions. Although we have no aircraft that fly over us there is aviation dust in the air and the damp and windy conditions kind of turn it into a light grease. Very annoying and I will sometimes close the windows to keep it out especially as we now have the blower things in the bedrooms and sitting room. Not quite the same as nice fresh (fresh??) air but .........

Picture is view from bedroom window early this morning. House next door is very old, was the original police house for the area. It is now two flats. We thought about buying one of them but when we went to see it it was so higgledy piggledy and in need of a lot of attention. The top flat must have loads of leaks as the roof has slates falling off all over the place! Interesting that the estate agents details refer to it as the original police house which the "Bow Street Runners" used. I think that is stretching the truth a tad as we are nowhere near Bow Street, they would have had to be marathon runners!

                          Good morning all.

Zizi, fingers crossed for things going smoothly with the kitchen now.

The others trains leave around midday. I will drive them to the station. We are meeting for breakfast at 9. No votes for Omas suggestion of 8

Good morning, as we start another week!

Zizi - thinking of you, and hoping you come home to good progress.

Northern ladies - enjoy your breakfasts! Gem - so there's no pressure being the person who has to get everyone to their trains on time! Safe journey home, ladies. x

It's 'back at school' mode for me today - picking GD2 up from playgroup at 12. We're having the caravan serviced today, so getting closer to a few days away in it.

Daisy, I asked them what time they wanted to be at the station, which was in plenty of time for the trains. I then allowed plenty of time for the journey, so in fact they were there very early
I am home, have had a good chat with OH, and paid mums phone bill online, now I am going to see my mum, OH off to golf.

Afternoon ladies we managed to get our trains and home safely although we almost got our times wrong thought the train was 11.58 when in fact it was 11.48 😕😀 but as Gem had us all at the station in plenty of time we didn't miss it 😀 This lazy lot didn't want to meet for breakfast at 8 they looked at me as though I was a lunatic hahaha then we sat chatting so long over breakfast we thought they were chucking us out as the lights went out , It turned out to be a power cut , I even said to the chef it's ok we take the hint you want rid of us 😀
