Happy Boxing Day!
Very windy here also Nan2.
Change of plan here today. DD2 and GD were sick on Christmas Eve and baby GS unwell with high temperatures, so their Christmas Day didn't go quite as planned. DD was worried that if she had another sleepless night with baby, and not feeling 100% herself she couldn't cope with hosting today. We are now going to her dads! He had offered to host originally, but it isn't ideal for several reasons. Too far, house not child friendly, mum likes what she is familiar with etc. However, it is so kind of them to do it, and we will get round those problems. The important thing is to be together. We will all bring the food we are scheduled to bring, just to a different house!
Last night DD told me babies temperature had at last gone down and he was sleeping peacefully, GD had bounced back, eaten a full Christmas dinner and was full of beans! I hope they are all OK today.
Have a lovely day, whether you are celebrating again, or just chilling outβA grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.β β Unknown

Happy boxing Day everyone.
It's a calm and clear day here with a lovely sunrise.
Oma - well done on a good night's sleep!
Gem - gosh, what a lot of arrangements you've had to change, but hopefully your DD2 is also ok today and baby is back to his usual smiley, sunny self. Enjoy your family day - as you say, it's the people being together that is important, not the location.
I'm going to get things prepared for our big family gathering tomorrow - cooking gammon, and two large sides of salmon, which I've never done before! If it all goes wrong Eva will be in for a big treat! I've also got to make some gluten- and dairy-free cakes and sausage rolls. I'll make a trifle for pud and have already made a sponge cake and mince pies. I still haven't decorated the Christmas cake, so that's another job.
Whatever you're doing, have a lovely day. xx

Sorry to hear your DD and family have been unwell Gem,so many poorly's.OH now has the lurgy and will put on a brave face today although I did say he could stay at home. Menna has had a throat infection and is on antibiotics, and it seems they have all had this dreaded cold. Im certain its down to having a cold snap and then being unseasonally mild, we need a cold snap to kill off all these bugs. DD is doing a buffet lunch and I shall take the cake I made, not a christmas cake as such it is chocolate as the GD's do not like traditional cake. We did not eat another thing after lunch yesterday, even the sweets are untouched.Happy Boxing Day everybody. I believe her majesty didn't attend church due to sill being unwell, so wishing her a speedy recovery, and huge sympathy to Zara for the loss of her baby,a sad time for the royals.Last edited by Libra Gran; 26-12-2016, 10:10 AM."What doesn't kill us,makes us stronger."

Well I have just sat down after clearing up from youngest GC , my goodness the noise and mess but it was lovely ,
Typical children though all the presents and they went upstairs and brought all their old toys down to play with π²π²π²
We played hide and seek in and out of bedrooms up and down the stairs in the garden ( freezing cold ) I was actually worn out with them , S is at the squealing hanging around your neck stage my ears were at bursting point π O kept locking himself in downstairs loo and couldn't understand how I could open a locked door didn't let on I can just turn it with a knife from outside to open it , he now thinks I'm a wizard π, when they went home I had to pretend to be a zombie trying to get them out of car as they both screamed their heads off , goodness knows what the neighbours thought I was doing πIm not fat just 6ft too small

I was going to get up early today and pre cook things for the family coming tomorrow but I woke at 6am and frankly just felt I couldn't be bothered so went back to sleep until 8.30am which is late for me. Then I was going to empty the dishwasher but decided to leave it all in there with the door slightly open as we will be using all the dishes again tomorrow. Washed up my cup and glass, messed around looking at things I might want to buy, didn't see much to be honest, had a bath and washed hair, made a couple of calls and husband came in. He got 1.45 hrs early trap yesterday and one hour today, also got Β£10 in food vouchers both days. Very unusual for BA to do that even at Christmas.
Looking forward to seeing the children again tomorrow but I think I may have bought the same dress for Sadie that her mum bought for Christmas Day! Might have to change that if I can find the receipt which is (obviously) in a safe place.
Lunch yesterday was very enjoyable although neighbour's boyfriend decided he couldn't face it. Neighbour was annoyed with him and came to tell me as soon as she could. I have only spoken to him in passing but he obviously has anxiety or something so who am I to complain? She said he had got very upset. I told her that it was absolutely fine and not to be annoyed, it happens. I just removed one place from the table, job done. I gave her his table present and London cab Christmas cracker plus a spare one as she is having dinner at his tonight. Her car has broken down again so she is borrowing mine to take her mum home to St Albans tomorrow. Her boyfriend had offered his Audi TT but mum finds it difficult getting in and out and husband and I have assessed what we have and I do not need to do any shopping so she can have the use of the car, I gave her the spare keys but told her to let me know when she is going because when I park on the road I can see the car and I don't want to look out and think it has been nicked!
Quiet evening in tonight. Missed Midwife yesterday as fell asleep and woke half way through. Will watch it when I get a minute - well an hour - so don't anyone go doing a spoiler!!!If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together

Oma - what a busy time you've had - and I'm sure the neighbours must be sending for the men in white coats!!! B will soon start to gain a bit of weight when his tastebuds are back in action properly. When you thin what he's been through, he's looking very well, bless him.
Zizi - I'm glad your Christmas dinner went well, but what a shame about the boyfriend. Anxiety takes many forms, and he must have been very worried - well done for making it ok for him. A lot of people wouldn't have understood and made it worse for him. I'm sure the extra sleep did you more good than getting up at 6 am.
LG - your poor OH, I hope he's been ok today and you've all enjoyed your second Christmas Day. On the news it said it was the first time the Queen had missed the Christmas Day service, so she must have been feeling quite poorly. I feel sorry for Zara and her husband, too. Being royal doesn't protect you from all of life's sorrows, but they have to put a brave face on in public.
I'm still busy preparing stuff for tomorrow, but we had a break this afternoon and took Eva for a good run in the paddock. She's now flaked out and fast asleep on the hearth - lucky girl, I feel like joining her!
