Gem - I'll be thinking of you this afternoon. I hope it all goes smoothly. xx
Oma - poor you - you really don't need a bad eye for Christmas. The shops sound horrendous!
LG - I do hope you're right and your cold is clearing up. Take care - at least it's dry and sunny this morning. We're going shopping very early tomorrow - and I'll be glad when it's done! I suppose we're all the same and get far too much food in, even if we're not feeding a small army. I'm going to try and be strict with myself. Yes, I AM!!

Up from 2.30 as my shoulder was hurting from yesterday managed to fall asleep on sofa for couple hours when pain killers kicked in , my eye felt itchy and gritty this morning and I discovered a stye forming , well that's all I need a scabby eye for Christmas 😲😀
Off to Hospital at 11 for his blood check , I must find time to wash the floors maybe tomorrow will be quieter xx

Good luck for this afternoon, Gem, hope it goes well.
Oma, man hope your eye isn't too painful. Woke up this morning with a fat lip, looks like I'm developing a cold sore . Just right for Christmas, I'll join you in feeling a sight 😎😷
Lovely day here, lots of sunshine and feels quite warm. Just popped out to the library to get some books to see me over Christmas, then we are out to friends for a meal this evening. Will be hitting the supermarket early tomorrow morning with DD, then what we haven't got we'll go without"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." - Dr Seuss

Finally got the decorations up,not a job that i like. Hubby helped in a fashion. I keep tweaking things he has done, that aren;t done to my satisfaction. Don't tell him though.
Rosie here, she thought i was doing mince pies today. Told her no,doing them tomorrow.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Oh dear Oma and Enfys, it must be the pressure of Christmas that's lowered your resistance to the bugs that cause these nasty things.
Today I've iced the cake and made a few mince pies. I've also collected a prescription, been for a walk with OH (in lovely sunshine would you believe!) done a pile of ironing, sorted out the rubbish and recycling for tomorrow as well as the usually chores and getting us fed!
Gem I hope your hospital visit was alright and you didn't have to wait too long.
Zizi enjoy your evening. Sounds lovely.Very wise not to drive if you don't feel confident as it would spoil your evening.

What a busy day Clover! I didn't get the cake iced but did finish all the present wrapping.
Hospital visit was OK . Not too long to wait, in fact we were 10 minutes early but were seen right away. Unheard of! I will write more on the other thread.,
We are dropping cards of at friends tonight who have invited us round for the evening.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

We are a lot of busy bees! I did about half the ironing - the pile has been there so long, the bottom of the pile is summer clothes! Cleaned downstairs, washed all the throws and cushion covers from the living room. Most of them said dry clean, so I washed them gently and separately and they were fine.
Put some more decorations up, wrote some local cards, did a shopping list for tomorrow, spent too long on the phone, made a salad for tea, and now it's bedtime! Yawwwwwwn!

I worked (as in work work) until about 2.30, then I lost the will. We have finally retrieved the photos and various stuff from the loft after the kitchen thing. We had packed everything as we were going to have a big renovation including redecoration but I am fed up with the sitting room looking like nobody cares. If we had done the whole programme it would all be finished by now but I just coudont face have any more work net in the flat, I have put out the sparkly Christmas cones out and put the cards up on the twigs and the mirror, that is about my decoration limit.
Husband made the executive decision to buy all the veg from M&S in Terminal 5 Heathrow today to save me going out into crowds on Christmas Eve. Bless him. Tomorrow I have some things to do for work so will work until about 12 ish, most people will be finished by then anyway and then I will clean the carpet in the sitting room, change the bed linen, clean the bathroom and take delivery of the meat in the morning and Sainsbury in the afternoon. I do need to go out and see one of my oldies so I will choose my time. Christmas Eve I hope will be calm, Christmas Day husband says he will walk to work (I am not happy with that but he will not discuss) and I will be at youngest son's and dils for around 9am to see the children. I will take a photo and video of them waving to grandad. Other mother is going to be there around 10 am so I will make an exit before then. Then I will get the table ready, oh my goodness the hot flat thing might have to come out, and neighbour says she will pick husband up. Then there will be a couple of hours where my husband and her boyfriend can both have a little sleep before we have lunch, (her fella is a black cab driver who will have worked through the night so they will both need a rest) then I am guessing there may be synchronised snoring going on a little bit later.........
Went to see Joe's Elf performance tonight. Bless him. At the start he was clearly very nervous but as the time went on you could see his confidence building. He sang and danced, OK dancing was a bit dodgy at times but obviously wouldn't tell him that, AND it has to be said that his singing voice will not be like that in a year or two but he did a sterling job and we were all very proud of him.
As we were walking back to ain and dils I felt a bit wobbly and husband called a cab which was waiting at younger sons house when we got there which I was grateful for. I should really be in bed now........If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together

Morning ladies dry and windy day, but have all my towels on the line blowing nicely. I have a hair appointment at 9.30 and the nail salon 10.30 ,a pamper day. Zizi take it easy, sounds to me as though your piling lots of tasks on yourself again. Fish and chips from the shop today, no heavy cooking with the big day looming. I will be making rum truffles later, and a rolo cheesecake to take to DD's boxing day. I am hoping a toy I ordered from e bay for Shiloh arrives in time, it was a last minute purchase. He has a nice pile of pressies under the tree and a lamb shank as a special treat for Christmas dinner- spoilt animal.Last edited by Libra Gran; 23-12-2016, 08:25 AM."What doesn't kill us,makes us stronger."

Morning all.
Busy day here.
Off to Asda for blood taking, hairdresser coming at 12, then to collect my mum for our Christmas vist to my sister. Home, then off to meet DDs 2 and 3 and GD for tea at Pizza Express, followed by the pantomime
Heavy gales are forecast this afternoon and I'm not too happy driving on the A64 at the best of time, so OH has kindly offered to drive us as she has a free day today.
Must get on, catch up with you all later!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown
