Oma that's great news about Brian.
We haven't put up the Christmas decs yet, I think that will be a job for the weekend even though OH will say 'it's too early ' and as usual I will take no notice and I will carry on regardless.
I have got the Christmas mugs out of the cupboard and we are using them and OH hasn't even noticed!

Good luck with Christmas decorations versus puppy Oma!!
LOL at OH not noticing Christmas mugs, Mimi

We don't put our tree and decorations up until mid December, but leave them up until 12th night. I have noticed before that we tend to be in 2 camps. Those who put them up very early, but like them down by about Boxing Day, and those who put them up later, but like them up until the official end of 'Christmas'. Whatever suits that household is good

We had GS overnight, and he was a very good boy. DD took OH and I out to lunch with them to thank us, which was very nice. I then went to see my mum for a while.

I may write my Christmas cards tonight, or at least make a start. I made our Christmas cake yesterday, the house smelled lovely

But we have bought a new tree, very pretty silver one all ready decorated complete with lights . DGD is having our old one as she is moving into a new house with her boyfriend and they are saving their pennies 🎄

Only a little table top pre lit branch tree this year, Oma I am not chasing Shiloh to retrieve baubles, he's a pup so everything is new to him. Our tree & decs wont go up yet, but do come down before 12 th night . I'm not a grinch honest, just like everything back to normal ASAP. Must make a start on wrapping and card writing, keep saying I will but then go off the idea.

As you might expect, Christmas hasn't started to happen in the Daisy household yet! We have had 2 Christmas cards which I've tucked back into their envelopes to wait for their allotted time blu-tacked to the stairs. We've got our 2 GSs for a sleepover on the 19th so will have the tree ready for when they arrive. I will write all our foreign cards tomorrow or Thursday, and really must get on with the others and do some shopping. We're now having a big family get together at our house on 27th - about 20 of us, including 6 children, so I need to think about food etc for that, plus Christmas Day.

I usually like to get the decorations down on 2 January.

                      Good morning everyone.
it is sunny and bright. If anyone wants a day in York this is the day to go

GD from school today. Since she started school and she is only with me a couple of hours or so on Wednesdays, I do miss her!
This morning OH and I have a couple of things to do. I started writing my Christmas cards last night, and may do more before school pick up time, if I have time

Daisy we had a Christmas card last week. Like you I haven't put it up. I wait until we have several, and it's a little closer to Christmas!

Make sure you don't put chocolate decorations on the tree Oma. I knew someone whose dog ate all the ones he could reach - foil and all

It's the candy canes he's sniffing at but they are too high for him , he's got the hang of he can't touch now I think he's stopped trying to get things , think it's the stern NO I have been doing all day 😊

Also chocolate is highly poisonous to dogs, don't want to alarm anyone but they have been known to die from it. I have been into work, usual annual decs and trees. We have a very helpful handyman and I said hang this here and put that there and he goes "yes dear" lol. I've done 1 tree but after 3 hours I was hot, bothered and exhausted, so will go in for an hour Friday to do the East Wing tree. West Wing prefer traditional red, gold.East like a more contemporary tree silver, white etc . Don't mind being paid for something I enjoy. Got sad news while I was there 1 gent died and 2 of my favourite ladies are going into nursing homes.

LG - I was going to comment about chocolate (and raisins, grapes etc) being poisonous to dogs as well. When you're a doggy household you know you have to be careful but visitors may not realise and it's easy to leave a bowl of nuts and raisins on a low table or something.

Every Christmas, Rusty and Clyde would have to be reminded that the tree wasn't indoor plumbing for their convenience (excuse the pun!). Sadly, not this year!

How sad, LG when you lose your favourite residents. Especially at this time of year. xx
