Nanto - well done on the car boot sale. Doesn't it feel good when you've achieved something like that! You deserved your pub lunch.

We were out for coffee and lunch today as well - it makes a nice change and I thought it would get me off the hook for cooking tonight, but OH was hungry so I ended up doing a vegetable stir fry!

I have not had the best of days. Bil's funeral was yesterday, nice service to be honest. Have recently had a problem with my debit card, not because there is no money in It because it is a healthy account but because it keeps being flagged as "unusual spending pattern". How can it be unusual when every Wednesday I place a Sainsbury order at roughly the same price give or take a couple of quid? This is the third time in three weeks and after the second time they blocked the flipping card.

I made a complaint and someone from the bank phoned this morning but I couldn't speak to them as I was dealing with the police and various other agencies about a vagrant on one of our sites (yes I am seconded, no I am not currently supposed to be community liaison). Finally found the time to ring back but the person who phoned me had gone home so couldn't resolve the situation. I am being told that I am putting the wrong number in the visa verification thingie but it never asks me for a pin number it just chucks me out. I have told them that I am very unamused with their customer service and expect the situation to be sorted very quickly as I have an alternative current account and it will not be difficult for me to move my account. So there!

In addition I had a National Citizen Service site visit by some young people today at my kings cross site. I am not surprised that they have been identified as potential NEETS given their general behaviour although when they practised their "Dragons Den" pitch on us they were surprisingly good. What is annoying is that you tell the organisers the rules for site visits: No skirts, trousers only; no big hair clips which can get caught In the hardhat webbing; bring socks to prevent chaffing of boots; submit all attendees shoe sizes; advise of any glasses wearing or turbans so appropriate equipment can be obtained. Out of fourteen young people and three adults six had skirts one of the Them a very flowing one. Three had big hair clips. None had socks. Shoe sizes only submitted for young people not adults. Two glasses wearing and one turban. How can we expect these young people to enter the world of work and listen to the rules when the people supposed to be teaching them cannot even read a it of paper?

highlight of today has been stopping OH from sliding out of the all singing all dancing chair we purchased for him . I have switched it off at the wall , much to his mystification

Libra - poor you! I hope there wasn't too much damage. xx

Aggie - I hope your OH doesn't find the switch when you're out of the room. It sounds like a very sophisticated chair.
