Then I got stuck behind a large estate car doing just over 20. We both turned left and he was so slow off the mark I managed to overtake him too. Then on a fenced road (no animals wandering around) there was a tractor cutting hedges down my side of the road. Grrrr….. My 20 minute journey took over half an hour and I had to leave my shopping until after the hairdressers. It was then a rush to get home in time to collect Clyde and go in a different direction to the vets. Another slow and tedious drive. I don't think my car was out of 3rd gear all day. It was a lovely sunny day - why weren't all these people on the beach!!!
I know Daisy I thought when I was told this smacks of Daisy I thought this might happen but not within a fortnight DS has offered to book a days holiday but I cant let him do that he is very busy at work. this from a grandma that said I want hands on contact well it aint happening yet!

Enjoy your day ladies....whatever it is you're doing. I wish I had your energy.

How do I find a post I want to follow if I've not remembered the thread name? I'm wondering how Doggo is, but don't know where to find the topic. Wee Granny, how is he?

Mamar* - there are several ways to track down a post, but if you know who made it the easiest is to click on their User Profile and it will list their posts. 'New Topics' (top of the screen) is also useful if the thread has been added to since you last looked. If you click on Forums, on the right there's a list of recent activity - which can be expanded by clicking on 'View all'. There is also a 'Search' box which I've never had much success with, but others may have sussed it out.

In this case, WG hasn't posted any more information and I'm still keeping fingers crossed for the poorly doggy.

Ladies I may not be on here for the next few days as myself and OH are having a long weekend in Devon. We leave tomorrow and back on Monday. Please behave yourselves while I am away, don't eat too much cake in the tea room and no misbehaving in the Grannies Rest, I know what you lot are like.
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

I have seen a photo of said doggy on FB, with one of those cones on, so he is home

Daisy I have had lots of success with the Search facility on here!

Mimi, have a lovely time, we will try to keep the ladies in check while you are away

It's looking a bit iffy now.

Well, I had the granny day from hell yesterday. Eldest GS was spectacularly sick five minutes after his mummy left for work. That's my Room 101. Enough said. After he and the sitting room floor were sorted and I had located the school number and fought my way through their stupid 'press 1 for.... ' system got them both in the car to bring them over to ours then GS2 was sick in the car. I'll spare you the details. Mummy couldn't come back as she seeing the Director and Daddy was on a course at the coast.

They had both perked up a few hours later but it wasn't fun. And it's OH's birthday today so I've got to shop for a nice dinner instead of taking it easy.

                    Feeling fed up

Hope you have a better day today. Good that both kids perked up later.
                      Happy birthday to Mr Minny.

MS - I think we've discussed this before - our Room 101 is the same!! So tons of sympathy from me. I was going to say 'buckets of sympathy' but I think we would both have shuddered a bit! I hope both you and the car have recovered. I hope the boys are ok, too.

I'm sure once you start cooking mr MS's birthday dinner you weill feel more relaxed, and the horrors will fade a little.
                        Happy Birthday, Mr MS

                          Good morning!

Minny, how awful! I hope the boys are Ok now, that you and OH stay free of it, and that OH enjoys his birthday.
My recommendation would be forget shopping and cooking, go out for a birthday meal instead!
I have a friend coming to lunch. Before that I plan to try out the new steam cleaner!

Happy birthday Mr MS. I don't have a big problem with children's sick but animal sick makes my stomach churn!

Had a good day yesterday but didn't get to speak to my Chief Exec. which I wanted to do. I am working from home today and made an appointment for Monday not realising that someone had slid an appointment in my diary so I am having to rearrange loads. I put some washing in last night to hang today in what was supposed to be glorious sun until 3pm and now it is dull and overcast and has been raining since 6am but stopped now. I have lots of admin to do AND I have to make Joe's cake as it is his birthday on Sunday. I did what I said I was going to do and got him a pair of (expensive) shorts and a gift voucher from Amazon for £30. Dil sent a text saying she knows it is cheeky but they are all going to a wedding tomorrow and would I make a big potato salad for the adults at the Joe BBQ on Sunday as she thinks she is going to run out of time. I need to phone her as I don't know how many adults I am making for and also need to make arrangements to get cake, potato salad and presents over there in the morning as we are going over on the bus and getting a cab back. That way I can have a couple of glasses of wine. Trouble is she never answers her phone so I am leaving endless voice mail messages which she also never seems to pick up!

Oh well back to work, I have a lot to do especially as I have a catch up with my co ordinator on Tuesday so have to go through everything I have done since I last had a meet with him and I don't know where to start. I also need to work on my CV for that job I have seen. Well get off here then ZIZI and get on with it....... Oh all right then xx

Oh dear I am not good with sick , especially in the car !

Good luck Zizi , you have a full on weekend , hope it all goes well

Managed to get OH a GP apt at the local surgery , not sure if he has UTI or the tablets making him confused , got antibs so hope that is the problem solved , he was up dressed and showered at 5 am , normally I can't dig him out by 10 , Dr took blood and will review him next week

If only I could Daisy. Unfortunately Mr MS thinks it's not a proper birthday mail unless I cook it for him so I have just made an amazing starter of salmon and leek mousse wrapped around and smoked salmon lining with a prawn embedded in it.
The boys are much better today and although my daughter in law dropped a lot of hints about my looking after them today as well I'm afraid I said that I was much too busy it's also our eldest Grand sons party tomorrow and he's having a big party with somebody called Ricky tricks I think they wanted us to go over and help with that too but I'm afraid we both chickened out as we thought we had done quite enough dealing with the sick yesterday.
So here I am wasting time on the iPad instead of getting on with planning the rest of the meal and putting together an amazing tart which I found in the river cafe cookbook called Torta di Mandorle which is Italian for an Almond Tart. .
I'm making the main course with a guineafowl roasted with fresh garlic and salad of dressed peas and beans and homegrown lettuce I shall do some little carrots to go with it as well i've also bought some Rocquefort cheese and some posh biscuits to go with it and some grapes as well so I hope it cheers him up because he was quite grumpy yesterday
