I had a friend round for coffee and mince pies this morning. I am going over to DD1s soon, then we and GS are going to his nursery carols at 4.30, then back to DDs for tea.

Today is flying by. Got home late from parents,made something to eat. Off to visit eldest granddaughter soon, to deliver presents.

Today would have been my parents anniversary the shortest day but not for me lol had eldest G/d since last night until Wednesday am no problem only DS had a day off today and paid us a visit with the twins, chaos ensued eldest was hyper with the babies lunch became a mammoth task and tomorrow they are back again less DS think if the weather is ok we will be walking the streets with pram and eldest in tow . I certainly won't be on here tomorrow!!!
Oh and the boiler has broke down someone is coming tomorrow to bankrupt us

I like that, your son has the children and he brings them around to you, I am sure you were pleased to see him.

My sister phoned me this evening, she is putting up and feeding over nine members of her family, well she buys all the food and starts if off and then they take over. My sister is amazing, she is 87, still drives locally as she likes to choose her food but she has it delivered. they are all staying the night and she only has 3 bedrooms and only 1 bathroom. Her home is open house and all of them are either children or grandchildren of her son, who has been married three times, he lives in Hong Kong so my sisters home is their family home. Also she doesn't have good health, she was in hospital recently as she has Crones disease, I think she is going to have strong words with her son when he comes, he hardly ever phones.

Plant, your sister is is amazing She is the same age as my mum. Mum has no real medical problems, except her sight being poor. She is fairly independant within the home, but I order and deliver her prescriptions and library talking books, make her Drs and dentist appointments and take her to them. I take her shopping every week, and pick up other bits for her during the week. This is the 3rd year I have done all her Christmas shopping. If any of us go for lunch we take it. No way would or could she cope with catering for us.
Your sister copes brilliantly. She should definitely have that word with her son.

My sister has her DIL (widow of her eldest son) to do her work and she gets her lawns cut. Her doctor who is now retired and a very good friend to her takes her for hospital appointments and will come if she needs him. My sister looked after him and his daughters after his wife left him, I cannot praise her enough she is fantastic. Her life hasn't been easy, lots of sadness.

This morning we are going into town for a couple of things. Once home I want to wrap OHs presents and marzipan the Christmas cake, ready for icing tomorrow.
We are invited to friends for a meal tonight, so no cooking

I have a sore throat and ears which began yesterday. Willing it to just go away!!
