Glamm I use any chocolate in mine , Green & blacks is good so is Lindt , my SIL like Cadburys as he doesn’t like a rich chocolate .
If I use the Lindt chocolate powder I like to put a Lindt double chocolate sweet in too to melt , naughty I know as it’s double the sugar but it’s a nice treat now and then

good morning, a very busy one for me! 6 of our sheds have been broken into during the night, the police are doing their work at the moment, luckily mine wasn't among them, but, there is so much damage done for one toolbox!!

I am waiting for GD2 to arrive, lunch together then she will "help" me with the sewing!

Oh what a nuisance Lizzie. I'm glad your shed wasn't broken into

Your poor sister Oma. Not the best birthday.

It sounds as if OH had a good birthday Daisy.

Not too long until your family are back now Glamma.

The laptop arrived and I have gone as far as I want to with it. I prefer our man to do the rest as he's the expert! I'm really missing not having it, and I have Minutes to write up and send out!

OH is here today and we are having quite a lazy day so far. She is making cheese toasties for our lunch and I've got this lunchtime's Bargain Hunt ready to watch while we eat it. We know how to live the high life

Lizzie, thats awful about the sheds being broken into.

Oma, sorry to hear about your sister. Hope she gets some relief from the pain soon.

Today turned out different to what i expected. We were asked to go to the pub for dinner,so we went.
What was todays dinner will now be tomorrows dinner.

Pub dinner out, good for you Nan2

A friend called in to see us this afternoon after her Covid jab. It was nice to see her

Glamm, you must be really missing your DD while she's away. I do hope her ankle is just soft tissue damage, but it would be sensible to get it X-rayed, just in case. Your Velvetiser sounds wonderful but I definitely must resist buying one! My Tassimo machine makes a decent hot chocolate and the GDs love it. Did you get a list of Netflix films to watch?

After quite a nice warm day with a bit of breeze I decided to leave the washing on the line when I went out. On my way back it started to rain and I was hoping OH would notice and take the washing in. Luckily, I got home before the rain caught up with me and a lineful of t-shirts etc was saved from a second rinse!

Oma, you chocolate drinks sound very decadent.

Lizzie, what a shock, all those sheds being broken into. I'm glad you escaped, but it's very distressing for everyone. How did you and GD2 get on with the sewing?

Nanto, what a lovely way to change your plans. What did you have at the pub?

Gem, glad you had some company this afternoon.

Today is my DS2's and DIL's 18th wedding anniversary. They were married in Cuba, out in the sunshine on the edge of a beautiful beach, with warm blue waters of the Caribbean providing a gorgeous backdrop. It doesn't seem that long ago!

Dog training went really well today. There were only 3 dogs there and we did several new activities. Eva really enjoyed all the activities and especially some new, noisy toys.

Good morning, the sewing went well Daisy, she stayed for a meal as well and left as I went to do my coffee duty at 6-30pm.

I was telling the men about the break ins, one said they had probably got the wrong block, thinking about it I agree with him, 6 sheds open and one toolbox taken, the sheds were all in the same "alleys" as well, walked past a lot more to get to them. They were looking for something that they knew about.

The man I took to the choir etc has lost his wife, they have been married 66 years. She had open heart surgery 7 years ago and developed brain damage, she has been in a home all those years. I called in for coffee yesterday and will go today as he enjoys a chat. His youngest son is a friend of DS2.

Then to make matters worse my friend phoned, she was my SIL 54 years ago! She has chronic leukaemia, she has been having immune therapy for almost 20 years, now the leukaemia is back! She told me she is so tired, she has all the tests today then hopes to start new treatment tomorrow, I do hope it works for her. She lost her brother to the same about 10 years ago.

I have just lost my posting!

Oma, my foot is better thanks, it is with all that jumping on my toes at aqua, I shall have to do it flat footed! I hope your sister is recovering, knee's are painful after a fall.

Glamm, DS1 and family are in Liverpool for a few days next week, GD2 was telling me that she is really looking forward to it, those 2 girls have seen more in their few years than I have in my life!!!

Nanto, you would enjoy the pub meal, that is what GD2 was saying, pub meals with "bangers and mash"! Oh, then they are booked in at the Magpie in Whitby, fish and chips for GD1's 18th birthday meal!!

I think it is raining here at the moment, it was forecast so will see how it goes.

Good morning. Feels cooler this morning.

Lizzie, sad news about your friends leukaemia coming back.
Also sad about your other friend losing his wife.

No plans for us today, apart from hairdresser coming at nine.

Daisy, we had a typical pub meal yesterday, I had gammon and pineapple, hubby had scampi
We get the smaller portions and have a pudding after. We always have jam sponge and custard.
We stick to the same pub because sis in law has gluten free, not by choice, she is coeliac.

Today's dinner is what I had planned for yesterday.

Fingers crossed for a positive MIL day Oma!

Daisy will Eva always go to dog training?

Treatments improve all the time Lizzie, I hope things go well for your friend.
Ooh I would love fish and chips at The Magpie

Nan2 I would go for the smaller portion if it meant I could have a pudding!

My reflexology treatment which was moved from Monday is this morning.
Computer man is coming at 1. I did some of the work yesterday so hopefully he won't have too much to do.

Sunny here but it feels very autumnal now.

Good Thursday morning everyone. It's cooler and damp after overnight rain. Yes, Autumn is getting back to 'normal', but I'm very grateful for the recent warm, dry weather.

Lizzie, your GDs are well-travelled! I'm sure they will love their time in the UK. Is it their half-term next week? How sad to hear about the choir man's wife and your ex-SIL's leukaemia. I do hope her treatment is successful.

Nanto, Gammon, eggs and chips is my OH's go-to meal in a pub. It's also a safe choice for a friend who is allergic to garlic. I remember some years ago a hotelier friend suggesting to her chef that they took it off the menu, and he said it was consistently one of the most popular choices both for lunch and dinner. So it stayed on the menu! The SIL who has recently stayed with us is gluten- and lactose-free and we've been surprised at how many pubs now have GF choices - either versions of the standard menu or special dishes.

Gem, enjoy your reflexology this morning. Are there reasons why you don't give reflexology too soon after surgery? I agree about small portions plus pudding. It will be great to have your new laptop fully up and running. I'll carry taking Eva to training as long as she's enjoying it. Even dogs never stop learning and I love seeing her enjoy the various games we play. There are other dogs who are 'long-termers' as well, and it helps to give some less experienced dogs confidence.

Oma, I hope MIL is in a good mood for you today. GS must be very relieved that his car is drivable and the damage isn't too bad. I hope it's fixed soon.

I'm having a slow start today. I should have been meeting college friends for lunch, but I woke up with a migraine-type headache. I think the last 3 weeks have finally caught up with me, so I'm staying home and not doing much.

Daisy, you certainly have been busy and are due for a quiet day. Lovely to have visitors but it does tire you out.

Oma, good luck for your Mil visit. I am sure GS will be pleased that granddad has okayed the car for him to drive.

Gem you are gradually getting back to your normal routine, take care.

                          Nanto, love the Autumn graphic.

I have had a couple of busy but enjoyable days so today I am taking it easy. Isn’t the news terrible, so very very sad for the people who have lost loved ones and for what!

Well it was a nice visit today , MIL was very cheerful and no moans at all .
We stayed a little longer as we were enjoying a good chat , shame she can’t be like that every visit .

the news is awful isn’t it, such a wicked world we are living in, I sometimes don’t want to watch the news , all those poor innocent people dying.

                            Daisy
As long as Eva is enjoying her training I think it’s a good thing.
Hope your headache hasn’t turned into a Migraine.
It’s been such a busy few weeks for you now it’s time to relax a little xx

I must admit I like Gammon and chips but I don’t have egg or pineapple with mine and only problem I find is the chip portions are huge .
I often ask for new potatoes or a jacket potato with mine instead.

                            Lizzie
So sad for both your friends , it’s awful when things like this happen isn’t it.

Washed a load of darks, brought them in about an hour ago.
Just a few thick items need airing off.

Oma, wow,MIL being in a good mood.

Nanto, it's a bonus getting washing dried at this time of year, isn't it. It's been too damp here today, but I didn't feel like doing it anyway!

Oma, how lovely to read that MIL was in such a good mood. Wouldn't it be good if she was always like that.

Plant, I liked the Autumn graphic as well. I'm pleased you've had a couple of lovely days, and I hope you've had a relaxing one today. You're right about visitors tiring you out. I was ok until they left then the tiredness caught up with me, and I had a couple of nights of not sleeping. Why does that happen when you most need it!

Gem, how was the reflexology? Are all your exercises working ?

My head still feels a bit muzzy. I've half-heartedly pushed the sucky up thing round downstairs, chosen my 'new' recipe for next week - pork - and am going to take Eva for a little walk. The fresh air might blow the cobwebs away.
