Oma, good luck finding the roller blind. I hope the powers that be sort out that very dangerous corner near you before somebody gets killed. I wonder what startled you in the night.

Daisy I haven’t been out but the sun is lovely shining in the SR. I don’t have any delicate plants to give them winter cover, your garden sounds very exotic. Eva will enjoy her run in the paddock, it will not be too hot for her.

I have a M&S curry for dinner. Lots of rugby again today, hope England play well. Felt very sorry for Ireland but my NZ friend will be happy. GD2 and her partner are coming today for a few day whilst their flat is decorated.

Gem, I hope you find something to watch at the cinema.

Hallo everyone, much colder here with showers and now and again the sun!

DS1 and family will walk miles through the cities, visiting shops etc along the way, I did hear him mention the illuminations in Blackpool, if they are still to view. They are a few nights in Liverpool, then Leeds before a few nights in York, I think 10 nights including the boat. They arrive home next Monday morning.

I have just got the "winter" curtains hung between here and kitchen. They do keep the warmth in the living room.

There are so many deaths on the roads here lately, a young school girl got killed on a roundabout on her way to school, yesterday a young girl on one of those borrowed scooters hit something in Rotterdam and was killed, etc, etc.

I sorted my jumpers out etc the other week, got them all nicely fitted in the wardrobe, decided to change my duvet this morning and found another bag of jumpers. That could be the sign telling me not to buy any new ones!!

Daisy, I bet your hubby wasn't pleased with the car boot sale not being held.

Nanto, I have ordered a few things from Temu, I wanted a mirror on my old shopping bike, I have got used to having one and miss it, I had a look in the shops yesterday, so expensive compared to Temu, my friends tell me they have a fast delivery so I have ordered one.

I will get hoovered through. I have just hoovered through, IF, my Miele lasts to April I will have had it 25 years!! Lasted a family, dog with long hair, 2 grandchildren and still going well!!

Daisy, hubby went to the boot sale looking for a few bits he NEEDED.
Sorry your OH had a wasted journey to the boot sale.

Lizzie,i ordered my tops on the 8th, and they arrived yesterday.

Oma, hope you enjoy your roast dinner.

Its been cold here today, but had glorious sunshine.

We popped to Asda this morning, we needed a new ink for the printer.
Hubby hasn't got over the shock of me not buying any food.
I'm determined i'm going to use stuff from the freezer.
I admit to being a terrible food hoarder.

Nanto, I think it's sensible to have some food 'stock' in, whether it's fridge, freezer or cupboards. You get unexpected visitors like we do, so it comes in handy when you can rustle up a meal at short notice.

Did your OH get what he 'needed' this morning?

Lizzie, how shocking to hear to such awful accidents on your roads. I expect like us, your roads are carrying more and heavier traffic than they were designed to do. It brings it home when you hear of such sad accidents to youngsters on bikes.

Plant, I haven't followed the rugby at all this series. We just don't seem to have had time to sit and watch television. We've got a few tender plants in the garden and I like the drama of the banana plants and the canas. But it does mean work in Autumn and Spring. The rest of the garden is much easier! It will be lovely to have your GD2 and partner around for a few days while their plat is decorated. Do they live in London?

Oma, hog roast toasties sound wonderful! No wonder you didn't get to Dunelm. I bet Storm is loving this cold weather. The frost this morning definitely struck a chord with the quarter of Eva that is Labrador - she was so excited.

Gem, did you find a film to go and see?

Nan2 we also need to be better at using up food we have before buying more.

We didn't go to the cinema in the end! We will probably go on Wednesday.
Friends called in for coffee and to discuss a holiday which we may join them on next year. By the time they went and we had lunch I was happy to stay home today.
Next doors cat has been here all afternoon. He likes a bit of time away since their baby arrived!

Lizzie, that's awful about the accidents.

Daisy, the onlyafter effects from the covid jabs, is just an achy arm for both of us.

Gem, cats always know where there's a welcome for them. Where are you thinking of for a holiday next year? You'll be climbing mountains by then. x

Nanto, pleased you've had no real ill-effects from the jab.

We had an unexpected visitor this afternoon so the gardening had to wait. Hopefully tomorrow! But I did get the bed changed and some washing done.

Hoping to get the windows cleaned today.
                    Do a bit of packing.

Jacket potatoes for dinner with cheese and beans.

Miele hoovers are very expensive but when you get a life time out of them it’s worth the money .

Did you enjoy your Curry , I do enjoy curry but not hot ones ,
I don’t mind a little heat and spice but I couldn’t eat these very hot ones , I don’t think you taste anything when they are that hot

We are going to Dunelm this morning then to Lidl for fresh bread ,
I have a bit of a headache this morning , it’s not bad just one of those niggles , I’ve taken a couple of tablets so that should see it off , Im putting it down to tiredness .

Its very calm this morning even the birds are just sitting quietly in the trees

                        Good Monday morning everyone.

Very nippy in the morning air now isn't it?

Nan2 when do you go away?

Daisy, next year is big birthday year for OH and me, so we may have some celebrations holidays. We will definitely go to our favourite Majorcan hotel in September. The friends have booked a gite in France which has a spare bedroom so we could go. I am not particularly keen . There is no pool and it sounds a boring week to me. Plus there are the (in my opinion) unwelcoming French to contend with We were invited by the friends when they had had too much wine at a meal out last week. I suspect they wont be that disappointed if we don't go! We are still discussing other holidays we may have next year.

Today we are looking after Baby E! Well OH mainly. I took 4 weeks off during which time DD didn't work on that day, and then I said we could begin to have him, but only when OH is here for the first few weeks. So his day is now Monday until I am able to look after him confidently on my own on a Thursday. We plan at least 3 or 4 Mondays.

                          Good Monday morning, everyone.

We had a slight frost again last night, so I was glad I'd put fleece over the plants in the summerhouse. I must get on and get some other plants in there! Hazy sunshine this morning, and another chilly day forecast. It felt quite wintery when I let Eva out first thing.

Nanto you're doing well cleaning your windows just before you go away. It doesn't seem long since I did ours, but some of them look a bit grotty again. I'll wait till the window cleaner's been, in case it's the outsides that are messy!

Oma, I hope you find what you want at Dunelm, and your headache clears. I think you're due for a really good night's sleep. xx. I was hanging washing out yesterday and notice the birds were totally silent. Then I noticed 3 buzzards circling overhead, riding the thermals and obviously hunting for lunch!

Plant, I didn't see the game, but I gather England scraped a win?

Lizzie, you'll be wearing all those jumpers if it's a bad winter again.

OH is going to visit a poorly friend this morning, while I get on with some gardening.

Oma, it was a M&S curry, they last me two days. I can only eat mild ones, I quite like fish curry. GDand her partner arrived yesterday to stay for a few days whilst their rented flat is painted after the trouble they had with mildew. the landlord wanted to keep them as tenants now he has tackled the mildew so he has not put the rent up and they have signed for another year. They can use that time to save some more money to buy somewhere.

Gemini, I envy your desire to travel but then you are only a young one. I hope you find a holiday to suit you both. That cat has found an alternative home now that baby has arrived, they know where they are welcome.

Nanto, I think I need to take a check on buying things for the freezer. Your holiday is getting close. Pleased you are happy with your tops.

                              Good Morning lovely ladies x
Well you all know about my DDs trip and falling over whilst on holiday in Turkey when she arrived home her partner G took her to the A&E in Liverpool to be seen as she was in discomfort she promised me she has felt it improving over the days since she had done it so had no qualms about travelling home strapped up only to find she had broken the leg (Distal Fibula) and she is now strapped & booted up with an appointment for fracture clinic in the next day or two maybe an operation to fit a plate so at least 6/8 weeks off work she is so upset,I said to G someone will have to tie her down to keep her still what an end to a well deserved holiday for them.

Its nice and dry here the sun is low in the sky but its very bright a good day to be drying washing outside so have put out some towels to blow a wee bit its pointless brushing the garden paths as the wind is bringing all the leaves down and swirling them about the grass and pathways Oliver is having the time of his life chasing leaves and squirrels he is full of energy today for some reason.

Plant do you make your own curry ? I enjoy a Korma & Pilau rice sometimes I make my own or buy ready made from M&S I can't manage anything too spicy or hot DDs partner does experiment with lots of spices which I find far too strong but my DGSs all enjoy his cooking.

Has anyone put their heating on yet today I have put it on for 2 hrs to warm the house through it just felt chilly when I got up and decided to put it on prior to showering just didn't fancy a cold bathroom this morning.

DS1 is home from his time away with new GF to Devon he came back yesterday and all seems to have gone well with him meeting her family so today they have invited me to lunch at 1pm at our local Harvester in New Brighton so things may be moving up a notch for them I just hope he is happy and things work out for them.

The new neighbour has moved in next door into Jims old place it seems to be a funny old set up indeed he has no furniture to speak of just a chair and some strange budda type ornaments on his window sill,no curtains or blinds in one way I feel sorry for him not having any stuff for the windows etc I have loads of spare stuff in the loft (curtains/nets/bedding etc) but DD has said not to get involved and I think she is right she said he is not the sharpest knife in the drawer and may become dependant but he doesn't even have a bed or sofa etc.I just feel sorry for him and the fact he has nothing just his dog and his car, his dog has dug up his back garden after it being relaid by the HA it looks a complete mess now just hoping the dog does not get into my garden again in the near future.

Gems so glad to hear the reflexology helped you do with out pain killers you seem to be doing so well sweetheart you will be running about in no time at all.

I'm going to pop into Aldi on my way to meet DS1 at lunch time I need some fresh veg & fruit today their delivery comes in about 10am so will be nice and fresh I'll look in later ladies bye for now x

We had out heating on this morning to warm the house up a bit and B had the car on auto heat before we went out ,

I think A is right about next door , I know your the kind who wants to help but you don’t really know his type yet and you don’t want to make problems for yourself by him being a pest .

He may be waiting for some agency getting him the essentials .

Im glad the landlord wants to keep his good tenants and he’s tackling these jobs ,
There are so many that are shirking their responsibilities and letting people live with mould issues.
I like a fish curry , M&S used to do a lovely one but I haven’t seen it in the shops for a long time ,
Maybe it wasn’t popular so they discontinued it , I must remember to ask next time I’m in.

                                Daisy
Hope you get done what’s needed today before anymore frosty nights set in.

Thats not my kind of holiday either, I sure you and S would rather have a nice pool in a nice villa and guaranteed sun 😁
Hope baby is good today as usual ,
I know S is smitten with him so it’s not a problem for her 😁

We went to Dunelm but I didn’t get a blind but I did get a new throw ,
I bought a lovely one a few month ago but GS loved it so it went to Leeds with him for his bed 🙄
To be honest it was too big for what I wanted it for , I just wanted a small one to throw over me if I had a Nana nap on the sofa .
The one I got today was the same one only smaller and more the size I wanted .

Walked in the door and heard hello Aunty J turned around and it was my oldest nephews partner .
She was a meet and greeter. I didn’t know she had changed jobs.
