Hallo, we have had some showers with sunny spells, I went to DS1 for coffee, I want to knit DIL a scarf so she had to choose a colour.

Later on my neighbour came so we had a good catch up then I phoned a friend I have know for years, she has cancer of the bladder and keeps having chemo. She was never very cheerful so not at all at the moment.

Oma, what a price to fit the lamp fitting, they certainly know what to charge. They should have listened to B!! Saved them some money.

Daisy, I got the pattern made and trousers cut out, that is as far as I got yesterday, M next door ordered 2 patterns, they come as PDF, you have to download them, print them out then it is like a jigsaw puzzle, not very handy to work with. I have the magazine to I will trace them for her this week, she can't follow the squiggly lines, I am used to it.

Oma, luckily it is cooler, even in here it has cooled down, at last!

Gem, I hope you don't get the covid, my DB1 picked it up on a hospital visit, his wife got it as well, hers soon cleared but DB1 is still ill from it, he is almost 85 though and has other problems. Pleased the visit to your sister went well, enjoy the balloons, lovely to watch.

Nanto, when do you go on holiday and where to???

Gemini, I am wondering if I should wear a mask, I would hate to miss our visit to Birmingham.

Oma, what a pity b didn't do the light as he had wanted. The cladding your SIL is doing sounds a good idea and very practical.

Gem, oh dear. I hope your DD1 isn't too poorly. Hopefully you will be ok - what a good job you were only in and out!

Nanto, your DS2 and his fiancee are very lucky to have such generous parents.

Lizzie, those PDF patterns sound really complicated. Some things just aren't meant to be PDFs in my opinion! . Did you say you were making black trousers for the winter? I hope your DB1 is better soon, poor chap.

Plant, hopefully Gem will be fine and if you are worried and a mask helps you to relax more, then don't hesitate to wear one. It had crossed my mind that we perhaps need to be a little more careful generally because there will be more people around than I'm used to, but I shall take large quantities of hand gel and use it at every opportunity anyway. xx

Well the torrential rain followed us home! We were doubtful that the balloons would have taken off so we will go tomorrow instead. It's a much better forecast.

How lovely to have a holiday to look forward to Nan2

I doubt I could have caught anything from DD. I did kiss GS though, so I hope he hasn't got it .
Time will tell but fingers crossed.

Daisy, oh dear I didn’t mean Gemini should wear a mask to Birmingham, I certainly will not be wearing one. I was concerned she wouldn’t be able to come to the meet up.

Gem, I hope you haven't caught covid.

Not sure what I'm doing today. I think hubby is planning to do something in the garden, so will probably give him a hand after I've done the usual tidying up in the house.

It's an easy dinner. Doing a corned beef pie, similar to a cottage/ shepherd's pie. Took it out of the freezer yesterday, so just needs putting in the air fryer.

Gem, we didn't have the rain yesterday.

                Good morning everyone.

                Nice easy dinner then Nan2.

Plant, I knew what you meant I will test on the day I leave anyway, as there is Covid in the family.

We hope to see the balloons take off later. No other plans today.

I have an order to collect from Waitrose then I think I am going to a Fete with GD1 and H. I made a chicken curry yesterday and there is enough for today.

                  Will pop back later

Good Bank Holiday Monday morning, everyone.

Gem, I'll have your black pudding - I love it, although what you get in supermarkets doesn't come close to the real thing.

Oma, how lovely to stock up from good food shops like that. I'm sure you were glad to find GS1 back home. Did he enjoy the Festival. My niece went as well and it looked really good in the photos.

Plant, I think curry is often better the next day - the flavours seem to be enhanced. Enjoy the fete.

Nanto, I hope the weather stays fine for your gardening. My OH has gone to a sale/auction of wood-working and turning equipment. Goodness knows what he'll come home with!

I am getting the last bits of holiday washing done! It's been a busy week and when I've had time to do it it's been showery. So it's just the duvalay covers now. One's on the line, the other in the machine, and the black clouds are rolling in.

GS wasn’t at the festival he’s been helping at the flat all week then went into Uni to get his Uni number and sign in .
He came home last night as he was missing his GF , DD and SIL coming home about now .
It’s been a dull but stuffy day that fine drizzle all day ,
I wanted to go out and dead head some flowers , it didn’t look like stopping so I put my coat on put my hood up and just got on with it 😁

I hope everyone has had a good bank holiday.

We drove around trying to see the balloons from several spots. It was quite disappointing really! We counted 8 over quite a long space of time. There were supposed to be 30. We didn't pay anything though, so nothing lost! It was getting late so we ate takeaway fish and chips on a table outside a chippy on the way home.

                            GS1 has Covid too.
I asked DD if she would test him before I looked after him tomorrow. She did it this afternoon and he was positive. A faint line as opposed to his mum's strong one . I won't be seeing him tomorrow now of course.

Gem, I'm so sorry to hear GS1 has Covid as well. Obviously I hope you haven't caught it from him, and I also hope he will be completely better before the new term starts.

Disappointing not to see the balloons - they must look spectacular all flying together.

Oma, I bet your GS was tired as well after all the work on the flat. When does he actually start Uni?

I got the washing dried ok and spent quite a long time giving our en suite a really good clean - it was ok but every so often you have to do a bit extra, don't you. I've also done the main bathroom and cloakroom over the last few days. This afternoon I mowed the lawn and trimmed the edges then did a bit of weeding and deadheading. By tea time it was cloudy but quite warm so OH and I sat in the garden with a glass of wine and relaxed while Eva ran round playing with her football.

OH didn't buy anything at the sale this morning.

                                Good morning, dry but cloudy.

Gem, sorry to hear GS has covid. Hope he's negative soon.
I don't think we will ever be rid of it.

Hubby out for a couple of hours this morning, so I'm going to clean upstairs.

No cooking for me, we are eating at the pub.
