No sunrise yet, its still dark.

Shopping being delivered between 9 and 10.

Annual gynae check up this afternoon.

Not a lot to do today, but I daresay I'll find something.

Gem, glad all went well at your pre op assessment
Also glad the funeral went ok.

Dinner is baby potatoes, gammon, pineapple and veg.

Good Thursday morning everyone. It rained overnight so I'm glad I cut the lawn yesterday even though I didn't have time to trim the edges.

I have to go and do some shopping this morning - birthday cards etc, and milk as the milkman didn't deliver for some reason today. I've only got two more loads of holiday washing to do - I don't know why we had so much! We've had a constant stream of unexpected visitors since we came back and I haven't even listened to the phone messages yet. They will probably all be for OH but he hasn't had time either. He's got phone calls to make this morning and a funeral to attend this afternoon.

Nanto - Tommie is gorgeous with those big blue eyes and beautiful hair. xx

I am having a problem with posting. If I read a post and decide I will come back later to comment it will have disappeared. I have to go to Forums to find it again. I did write a blog the day before yesterday and I am wondering if I have caused it. Also I don’t seem to be able to post the blog. Sorry to be a pest, I feel I must have caused it

Plant I have seen your blog.

Not sure what your other problem is caused by.
I have GSs 2 and 3 all day so can't do anything just now. Don't worry you haven't done anything wrong and it will be sorted out.

          Hi everyone!
          Back later

Nanto, No wonder the sun hasn’t risen at 5.55. Dinner sounds yummy.

Daisy, you are certainly chasing your tails since you got back from holiday. You are such a busy household.

Gemini, Not to worry, it will probably right itself. Have fun with the grandsons.

Good morning, yes Nanto, it is darker early mornings, I have to switch the lights on when I get up! The photo is lovely, he looks so cute.xxx

I have been to have my eyes tested, I have the start of a cataract, she said if I feel it is getting worse I have to go back, but, usually it takes years.

I then went to get my hair cut, I went in the car so that I could take some things to the charity shop on my way, oh, and get a plant pot so I can re-pot a plant at the centre tomorrow morning.

I called at friends yesterday, their son is supposed to be going to study in America for a year, he is the last on the list to get placed, the bureau have only to next Thursday to arrange it, otherwise, he will be the first student not to be placed.

We are supposed to get thunder storms this afternoon, had a few drops of rain on the way home but that was it.

I was told years ago I had the start of a cataract but wasn’t worth doing anything and no one has mentioned it since ,
I have my eyes checked and xrayed every year for my annual Diabetic check and eye test every two years ,
So either it’s disappeared or they got it wrong in the first place 😁
Hope your friends son hears soon about his place .

Nan2 I hope all went well with your check.

It was several years between me being told I had the start of cataracts and the surgery.

It's manic here with both boys We went to the library this afternoon.
GD has been to a dance class and DD2 will come here when she picks her up.
                        She's been OK Oma, thanks
I will update on YEO later.

All went well with the appointment, back next year.

Even if its manic Gem, i bet you are loving every minute.

                            Great news Nan2

I do love having them both, but it was very hard work by myself - OH was helping at a golf competition so was out from 8.30am until 7.30 pm.
Soon I won't be able to look after the baby for some weeks though , so I am making the most of it while I can

Gem, you must have been exhausted after today. We can't quite do what we did when our own children were young! Good to hear GD has been to her dance class - you must be very pleased and relieved. By the way, glad you pre-op assessment went well. My sister-in-law had a pre op assessment for an operation, and then had to wait so long for the operation that they gave her another one - and that second one only had a week left to be valid when they finally operated on her. It seems such a waste of time and resources, to say nothing of the stress to the poor patient.

Nanto, so pleased you got a good report from the doctor. It's always a relief, isn' it. xx

Lizzie, the effects of a cataract can creep up on you as they usually develop slowly. I found myself cleaning my glasses more frequently and being dazzled by dipped car lights at night. It's not a bad idea to make a note of how your vision is now so you have something to compare with in say, 6 or 12 months' time.

Oma, you must have had the world's only disappearing cataract. . You're probably right - it was misdiagnosed. Oh dear - MIL has been quite pleasant the last few visits, hasn't she. I wonder what's upset her today.

Plant, if you leave a post up on the screen and come back sometime later you will probably have timed out and need to do whatever you normally do to log in. Our house always seems busy, which in lots of ways is fine, but sometimes you do need a few hours to yourself!

My plans for today didn't work out. (What's new, then!). OH had arranged for someone to come and collect a compressor from him today, but what with one thing and another I didn't get out to do my shopping before OH had to leave for a funeral, so I stayed in to wait for the collection, and the man didn't turn up! OH was late back from the funeral because he had a flat tyre. He took it to the tyre place but had to wait quite a while for them to do it so it was gone 5 when he returned.

At least I got a few jobs done - exciting stuff like pushing the sucky-up thing round, portioning up dog food and even tidying half of the airing cupboard.
