    Morning Ladies
    Nanto
Its bright and warm here with a bit of a breeze ,

    Plant
Enjoy your time with GD & H , is there a coffee shop in the library you can sit and have a drink ?

Just been to Asda and brought our Elderly neighbours back , we bumped into them coming through the checkout,
Shes walking very bad and he had two bags of shopping so I’m pleased we could take the strain of walking back home.
Its only a 5 minute walk but at there age and her walking it takes ages.

GS arrived back at 2 this morning he’s now in bed,
He text me last night and said he was ready for home and he’s drank so much lager his liver hurts 😁
Said he won’t be having a drink for a very long time .

DD and myself are going down to Leeds tomorrow to do some cleaning and paper stripping in the flat, we will stay over till Sunday morning .
SIL has to be at the shop as they are getting new fittings and GS at work so we going to make a start.

Good morning, lovely here, rain forecast tomorrow though.

Daisy, you are very well organised with the caravan!!! I do so hope the weather is good for you all. The girls will have just a great time with you both.

I called at a friends yesterday, he lives quite close, his wife has been in a care home for almost 9 years now, his son is DS2's friend, the one that has the house in Germany. The man is 88 now but his short term memory is, what can I say, not there at all!! He walks his dog a lot, goes to the gym, still drives his car, which I don't know is the best thing to do, but, he does it, he visits his wife 3 times a week etc. He used to sing in a choir, was telling me how he missed it, the centre where I do coffee have a choir on a Monday evening so I said I would enquire for him, I have just been and he can go on september 4th to see what he thinks to it. I have just called in to tell him and he wrote it straight in his dairy, he writes everything down, all day long he writes down what he has done, otherwise he won't know what he has done.

Oma, your SIL must be very awkward, strange how children from one family can be so different.

Your so right none of them are alike but she’s the odd ball always has been , but a really good Mam to her boys, can’t fault her on that. They are nice men considering what their mother is like.

Hope your neighbour joins the choir it will be something to look forward too and fill some time for him.

MIL gets confused at times she’s 89 but won’t admit it , her sister in Germany is 87 and getting the same way,
she rang the other day and asked MIL how FIL was , He’s been dead 9 years but she had forgotten

At least if your friend is jotting stuff down it reminds him.

Good Friday morning, everyone. After a few spots of rain the sun has now emerged, and it's lovely and warm.

Plant, enjoy your morning with gD and H.

Lizzie, singing might help your friend with the short term memory loss. It sounds as though he's coping very well, and I bet he will remember all the words of songs he used to sing.

Oma, I bet the whole family heaved a sigh of relief when GS1 arrived safely home. I should think he'll sleep the clock round. I'm sure you and DD will enjoy starting to get the flat ready. Don't overdo it, though. Is it really 7 years since your FIL passed away.

I've got some washing to get done today, and hopefully it will dry quickly. There's a bit of ironing as well then I've got to try and decide what clothes to take away! I always find this hard in this country, and more often than not I get it wrong. It was easier when we had the static caravan, but with the touring one we have to keep an eye on weight and space. I spent last evening looking up places of interest and checking opening times, parking etc. I'm not usually this organised, but I don't want to waste any of the girls' holiday dithering about what to do or getting somewhere and find it closes in 5 minutes!

I hope Gem is having fun and relaxing. I bet GS3 is loving all the family being around and going in the pool.

Oma, the man does know and admits to it, sad really when you know. He seems to cope well and his sons here keep an eye on him, he was going to one of them for a meal this evening.

At the centre where the choir is, he used to deliver meal on wheels from there, when I told him where the choir was he had no idea!!

Just after i posted this morning the sun came out, very warm again.
Shopping arrived at 9 on the dot.

Oma, that was your good deed for today, bringing the neighbours home.
Busy weekend coming up for you then.

Lizzie, would be lovely if your friend joins the choir.

Plant, have a lovely time with GD and H.

DS2 just been and left his car here, going cycling with his friends then cycles home, coming back on Sunday to do the same then he will take the car. A few kms in-between time!!! I hope to go there on Monday for lunch, hopefully the dog won't be there.

The friend did tell me he often sings with choirs on the TV so he will know the words. I was saying to DS2, I wrote my phone number down for him yesterday, when I called in this morning he had neatly wrote it in his phone book next to DS2's number so he does that fine.

Nanto, your shopping was on time! It is warm here, very sunny.

Daisy, where are you going to with the girls?

                  Hi everyone.

I will catch up with the chat at some point!

All good here, we are all happy and relaxed 😎
Dividing our time between the pool and the lovely air conditioning inside! It's even hotter today so both are welcome.
We are eating out tonight at a beach side restaurant. Last night we ate at home then most of the group went out for pudding and.a wander. It was a fair walk so OH and I stayed in. That meant baby could be put to bed rather than be taken out .
OH and I will go by taxi tonight.

Daisy, holiday getting close and you are getting well organised. Have a lovely time.

It has been hot and humid here today. GD1, her OH, Harriet and I had a sandwich lunch on the green, tried to feed the ducks but they were not hungry. We then went to the library to take back H’s books. It was such a lovely afternoon we stopped at the local park, I found it too hot, no shelter and H was getting tired so we went back to their flat and I came home. I feel I have had enough sun for one day.

Oma, I can just see you and your DD getting stuck in to stripping walls and cleaning the flat, don’t over do it. Will you be able to sleep in the flat? I suppose DD will be buying furniture soon, will GS put his own stamp on the flat?

Nanto a day without visitors, quite a change for you

Gemini, are you away for 2 weeks? I expect the baby has had loads of attention.

What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Yes there are two double beds, we are taking our pillows and duvets, well I’m taking a throw I can’t stand a duvet on me when it’s warm.
There isn’t much they need we have gave them a sofa and a chair , Other GParents have a table and chairs for them if it will fit in , it may be a bit big but we will see when we get in ,
They will need a coffee table , drawers etc ,
GS and his friend have already decided the colour scheme they want , Green not my taste but it’s not my choice is it 😁
Between us and friends Mam they have everything for the kitchen bathroom etc .
We also bought a fire blanket a fire extinguisher and a first aid kit along with smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
so they should be safe 😁

Oma, GS will be set up in no time with the flat.
Green wouldn't be my choice either.
But as you say its his choice.

On an evening we have a snack about 7ish/7.30 ish.
When hubby is out walking with his pal on a friday morning,
They call at a bakery and hubby usually gets a very small pork pie,and we share it, i couldn't eat a full one.
This morning hubby thought the pies looked very pale,so he didn't bother getting one.
So, we have just had tomatoes from the greenhouse, cheese and shared a packet of plain crisps.
Guess what,we both really enjoyed it.

Nanto, sometimes it's the simplest meals that you enjoy best.

Oma, it sounds as though GS1 has already got most things organised for the flat. What shade of green is it? Dark shades seem to be fashionable these days, but I don't think I could live with dark green. In our second house the stairs lead off the living room and we painted that one very long wall in a dark green. It was a mistake, and we were lucky enough to move before having to try and cover it with another colour. I don't know what the new owners thought of it!

The lads will be well-equipped for the start of term, but good to know they have got essential safety equipment. Can they cook? Will your GS take his car to Uni, or leave it at home for holidays?

Good morning, Oma, green is very popular here, DS2 has it in their room, I think in the bedroom as well. A young man I know has just got an apartment down from me, I went to see how he was getting on last week, they were doing the floor, he has done the walls a very light green and it looks really nice. I often meet him as I go to the gym, he is walking the dog, he showed me the colours he fancied, one was a terracotta and the other was this green.

When we first moved into a flat, 50+ years ago, the wall in the bedroom was deep purple!!!! That was soon changed.

I went to help at the allotment last night, came home with new potatoes etc.

Nanto, you would enjoy your easy meal!

DS1 will be in Leeds and Liverpool all next week. I called in yesterday afternoon. They were telling me that GD1 is really enjoying her work at the Lidl.

I may get a bike ride in later, nothing else planned.

Lizzie, glad GD is enjoying it at Lidl. Enjoy your new potatoes.

When we first got this house, every room was in m some shade of green. It's a colour I have never liked.

We are going to Pontefract today.
