Nice to hear they have had a good holiday , it seems roads everywhere are causing delays .
we have sun at the moment and it’s quite warm.

B has made Rye bread the house smells lovely , Im itching to try a slice but it’s still hot 😁

    Nanto
I know what you mean over time I’ve tried them all but nothing compares to hand washing
This one seems to do a really good job, see over time what I think.
Ive lost count how many different mops I’ve given to DD when I decide I’m not keen ,
The steam mop I have at the moment GS wants when he moves.

When you can’t get down on the ground and worse still get up, then you have to resort to other methods of cleaning the kitchen and bathroom floors asnd I find my steam cleaner suits me or a mop and bucket and keep changing the water. Your Karcher Oma should suit you fine

Hello everybody. It seems to have been a reasonable day for most of us - but not here on the sunny south coast! It's rained steadily since about 10 am, and although we managed to cook on the barbecue we ate indoors. Still, I think the friend whose birthday we were celebrating enjoyed it, which is the main thing.

I'm shattered and ready for bed. Chat tomorrow.

Plant, there is no way I can get down on my knees, never mind the getting up again!!! I wish I could though.

Good morning. Sunny at the moment, don't know if it will last.
Hubby saw the weather forecast on countryside last night and said it's going to be bad weather for over a week. He said Wednesday will be particularly bad.
Nothing we can do about it.

No plans for us today, will just go with the flow.

Dinner is mince and onion with roast potatoes, veg and gravy. All from the freezer.

Have as good a day as the weather will allow.

                Morning Nanto/ ladies

Its bright but damp here and forecast rain from 11 onwards,

                Gem
I hope today isn’t a wash out for you all ,I’m sure you will find shelter if it is, have a lovely day .

                Daisy
What a shame it rained but I bet it didn’t dampen your spirits , 😁

Not a lot on today a few jobs to do , might go buy paint to gloss the doors etc they could do with a lick of paint,
B thinks they don’t but I do so I will win this argument 😁.

Hope everyone is feeling good xx

Oma, how can you say you are going to gloss the doors, just like that. Poor B, you are always thinking up jobs to be done. It would take me ages to decide what jobs need doing, then I would have to get someone in, I am a hopeless decorator.

Daisy, you must be tired after your very busy weekend

Nanto, weather forecast not good, feel sorry for the folks on holiday.

Lunch in the Village Hall for me today, apart from that no plans.

                    Good morning everyone.

I hope you had a good nights sleep Daisy.

Filey day today. I am less enthusiastic than usual as GD wont be here, I don't know how my knee will stand up to the day and the weathers not good! I'm sure we will all enjoy it though, and I will report back later

                      Good Monday morning, everyone.

It's wet here again. Looking out of the front window it looks autumnal. Plant, I feel sorry for the holiday makers as well, but I can't help hoping we get some sun when we go away in August.

Gem, take care with your knee. I know you will miss having your GD there for your Filey day, but once you get there I'm sure you will enjoy it. Fingers crossed for the weather being kind to you.

Nanto, thank you for the lovely graphic. It really catches my eye - the unusual colours and butterflies.

Oma, when we replaced out internal doors a few years ago we bought oak ones - no painting. I think it was one of the best things we've done on the house. Mind you, anything would look better than the old sapaele ones that were like egg cartons inside! Who will be doing the painting - you or B?

Plant, enjoy your lunch out. It's something to look forward to on a dreary, damp day.

All the talk about cleaning floors has me worried. I used to scrub out kitchen and utility floor on my hands and knees at one time. It took ages but looked great . I realise, there's no way I could kneel down for that length of time these days. It's the hoover and steam mop or nothing now!

We're both quite tired after the last few busy days. I'm not doing much this morning except taking Eva out. OH has an eye appointment this afternoon. We both hate it being so late in the day, but we've plenty of left overs, so no cooking tonight.

I would love to change our doors to oak , we have talked about it but that’s as far as it’s gone 😁
I have always loved decorating , when B was working I always did the wallpapering and putting emulation on walls and the glossing , He never knew what he was coming home too 😁

But after the last time I fell off the ladders B isn’t keen on me doing that. But I still love it so we have compromised , I use a roller on a pole and B does the cutting in ,then I will paint the doors and he will do the skirtings ,
We get a man in to do the ceilings , our SIL always offers but he is so busy I don’t like to ask .

It is bouncing with rain so I’m assuming it will be the same for Gem

We ended up going to Dalton park retail outlet this morning B wanted to go to the Lindt shop , that man and his Lindt chocolate 🙄
He’s happy now he has a big bag and a box of chocolates😁

GS & Girlfriend coming for tea .

Not a good day weatherwise, but we can't change it.

Speaking of doors, hubby is staining our downstairs doors tomorrow.
Both doors lead off from the kitchen, one into the living room and one into the hall.

I've done a few jobs, but been an easy day.
First job i did was alter something around in the freezer.
The deepest drawer,i always used for bread, but i have changed it round with the frozen veggies.

                            Hello again!

Nan2, a cold job sorting out freezers!

Daisy we are a hoover and steam mop household too! Try to take it easy after your tiring days recently.

Oma, it didn't rain in Filey until 4pm!

We had a lovely day and the rain stayed off until ice cream and playpark time, which is our last stop on the way back to the cars. We ate our ice creams under cover then the kids enjoyed the playpark despite the rain My GSs 1 and 2 and C and P's GS2 and GD2 all played together all day. Their GD 1 will be 16 next month and definitely sees herself as one of us grown ups now I was sad my GD wasn't there but it wasn't possible for her, hopefully next time. I took my stick and it really did help with my knee. I will be bringing it to Brum!

I have to say, decorating doesn't get easier as you get older, does it! We never used to hesitate to repaint a room over a week-end. OH repainted his study before we got new carpets but there are several rooms looking worse for wear now!

Oma, I am still really pleased with our oak doors and the oak and glass bannisters we had done a couple of years ago. They've really modernised our rather dated late 60s house. Nanto, staining wood is such a messy job - at least it is when I'm doing it! I'm sure your OH is much neater. I hope B is enjoying his Lindt choccies.

Gem, how lovely that the weather for your Filey day was better than expected. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Nanto, when you do something like re-organise a freezer does it make you wonder why you didn't do it before?

OH's hospital appointment was for 3.45 this afternoon, and we left in good time because the main road going into the hospital is still undergoing extensive road works. We went in even though we were early and were on the way out just after 3.45, and back home for 4.30! It was lovely not having to hang around for ages. Even parking worked well for once.

We had left over salad with chicken legs for dinner, so that was easy, too.

Dry at the moment, hope it lasts for a while, hoping to get the grass cut this morning.

Yes Daisy, i did think why hadn't i done it before.
Glad you didn't have to hang around at the hospital.

Gem, pleased you enjoyed your day trip.

Dinner will be fries, fish fingers and mushy peas.
