Good Monday morning, everyone. The sun is shining here, and I'm not looking at the weather forecast in case I jinx it!!

Oma, it's a nuisance having to go to the hospital pharmacy, but as I seem to keep thinking "it is what it is" and the drugs are vital. How did you sleep last night after your marathon Nana Nap yesterday?

Gem, perhaps your DD3 feels the holiday starts as soon as they reach your house, and just want to be with you. How kind of their neighbours to cat sit for them. Salmon is a good easy meal, isn't it. I hope aqua and the sports massage put you in holiday mode and you relax.

Nanto, I hope you're right about the weather warming up and there's some left for Gem when she returns, and for my holiday next week! . I would use the beef stew for today's meal - one job less for today, but you are much better organised with cooking than me.

When I've done the dog food I'm going to get some odd jobs done today - the windows are first priority. The window cleaner came last week and I thought he hadn't done a very good job until I realised what the real problem was!

Gem, I totally agree. After our last holiday in the caravan I think it's time for some sunshine, and it will be so much nicer for the GDs if it is at least dry.

No real plans really, I might go up to the pond to feed the ducks. Not expecting any visitors today, if I don’t go out I will be entirely without seeing a soul. DD, Sil, GD4 and her partner will be back late tonight.

Gemini, it sounds like all systems go for you and the family. Have a lovely restful (if GC allow) time and re-charge your batteries. I know you love all your family but I feel a quiet evening and time in the morning might have been better for you and S.

Oma, It is a nuisance having to go a distance to pick up B’s tablets. Not long before GS gets back I presume.

Nanto, have a lovely day and enjoy the sunshine.

Daisy, shame you didn’t have this sunshine to finish that job at DS’s and Dil’s. Hope you have sunshine for your holiday.

Patchy sunshine here today. Hoping the rain stays away until the washing is dried!

Still trying to get back on track after my break with GS and DS! Weather was mixed, beautiful sunshine one day, torrential rain the next! Fights were fine, but busy. DS says they always are these days! It's the waiting around at the airport that I find the worst part of the journey. Did a city tour in a 1973 Skoda which was brilliant. Learnt lots abut the history of the city and the country which we didn't know. The looks on people's faces as we drove past was worth every penny! DD took us to airport and picked us up and both times the barriers were lifted so she didn't have to pay the fees at the drop off zone.

DS arrives later this week, so I need to stock up on things he can't get out there! warburton's bread, sausage rolls, walker's crisps! He and I are having a few days on the Suffolk coast. I managed to get a holiday home for a long weekend, most unusual in the middle of Summer. Got our favourite restaurants booked and we'll have fish and chips from the local award winning chippy!

WeeGranny, You are busy, busy busy. I have just been up to the green, fed the ducks and had a coffee.

WeeGranny, you are a busy lady, but your trip to see DS was full of interest by the sounds of it. I can imagine the 1973 Skoda was 'interesting'. They had such a terrible reputation in those days. Lucky with the drop off zone being free. I know most things in life have to be paid for, but having to pay to drop of an airline passenger which "they" are already charging seems a bit cheeky. Well done on getting a holiday home for a long week-end at this time of year. You've got everything organised, so I'm sure you will both have fun.

                    Did your GS enjoy himself?

Plant, I bet the ducks were pleased to see you. You've had some very busy days just lately, so a gentle stroll round the pond and a coffee sound good. Yes, it was frustrating not being able to finish the job for DS1, but another day's work on it will see it completed. But between holidays and other commitments it will be about 3 weeks before we can go again.

Nanto, you weren't tempted to use some of the beef stew you were making?

Oma, hopefully tonight will be better. Has B got his meds?

I've got quite a bit done so far - cleaned most of the windows inside, done 3 loads of washing and got one more to get out on the line, did a couple of hours gardening - mostly dead-heading, so not too strenuous. I sat down with my book for half an hour after lunch and am just going to tackle the chaos in the kitchen.

You must miss your family when they are away Plant. I'm sure the ducks were glad to see you!

Busy lady WG, but busy is good isn't it?

Busy day for you too Daisy.

I have done my aqua class, had my sports massage, taken my car to the garage for some body work whilst we are away, cleaned loo and bathroom and prepped dinner!
OH is watching more Ladies football and I am doing some online stuff. DD3 and family are setting off soon. They will give baby E his tea here.
My massage therapist is amazing. My left shoulder and arm have been very painful for at least 3 weeks now. She had to work very hard to release it all but it feels much better.

Hallo everyone, it has been dry almost all day today, just one short shower this afternoon, the sun is out now and actually a little warmer, it was the coldest august 6th ever yesterday!! Lovely if you on holiday in a tent.

I have just met GD2 to go and pick her inner soles up, she has grown so much lately, from a little girl to a young lady! She is into make up, styling her hair etc, where did the early years go??????? It is all part of growing up, as they grow up, we get older.

My friend was at the therapist, she has chronic leukaemia, had it almost 20 years now, with immune therapy etc she is still coping, she did say she gets tired very easily now though.

Gem, I hope you all have a lovely holiday.

Daisy, when do you go away with the GC?

WeeGranny, you are a busy bee with all the travelling. Have a lovely time in the cottage with your DS.

Plant, your family should be home again now so back to normal.

Nanto, your visitors certainly keep you busy baking etc.

I went out for lunch on Friday with the friends from aqua, always a lovely friendly couple and good food.

GD2 and myself have just been to inspect the blackberries, I hope to get some picked for my freezer on Wednesday, she was asking how I did it!! I told her with gloves on etc!

Gosh everyone has been so busy and they say retirement and old age is relaxing and gentle , whoever said that haven't met us lot 🤣🤣🤣

I hope you get lots of blackberries, ours are not very ripe or large, well the ones I have seen are not.

                          WG
I'm sure your DS will love to get all the things you can't get there.
Well done getting the holiday home booked,
so many are snapped up quickly now.

                          Plant
The Ducks will be well fed now,
What time are next door back?

                          Daisy
I'm sure your DS is OK waiting for the roof
hopefully when you get back the weather is good .
B had to wait almost a hour for his meds , the hospital pharmacy's are so slow.

                          Gem
What time are you off tomorrow?
                          Have a lovely time xx

Had a lovely Phone call from Bs Aunt from Germany i have difficulty keeping up with her as she talks so fast but B kept telling me what she was saying .

Didnt fancy anything as such for tea
B was having Belly pork and fried potatoes, so i decided just to have fish fingers and beans.
I usually only buy Birdseye but we bought some jumbo cod fish fingers from Aldi so tried them
My god they were vile, grey rubbery fish and soggy coating .
I ended up doing some toast with my beans.
won't be buying them again that's for sure. Yuk

Oma, the fish fingers sound atrocious!! Our blackberries are really ripe and so many, I wonder why? I did read the dry spell did it but the UK had that as well.

Daisy, you asked about GD1, she will be training to be an assistant to a childs therapist, something like that!

GD2 has applied for a job at the local supermarket, friends work there, they are only allowed to work 4 hours a week at 14 years of age, she said it is very unfair that they don't earn as much as a 17 year old for doing the same work!!! She is right in that but there is a scale they have to follow. She does her baby and cat sitting, doing the cat sitting at the moment as the family are away, all she has to do is see they have enough to eat and drink then let them in and out.

Oma, some members of the family call me a brand snob, but its Birds Eye cod fish fingers only for us.

Daisy, i didn't use any of the stew for todays dinner. I only made ½ the usual quantity i usually make.
I knew i would be struggling for space in the freezer. I made it into 2 beef and veg pies.

Lizzie, hope GD2 gets a job at the supermarket.

                              Gem, have a lovely holiday.
