Nice dress will you wear it with boots ?

    Daisy
Lots of shops are the same at the minute ,I’ve noticed they are filling empty spaces with things like cans of booze or random stuff just to make the shelves look full .
Pleased you had a lovely lunch , not like poor J needing a tooth out though . Bet that’s not what he was expecting.

Its not just how MIL says things it’s her nasty nature she demands stuff and thinks she has the right to speak to anyone the way she likes and has nothing kind or nice to say about anyone , no matter what they do for her ,

I was talking to Bs sister today we were saying it’s sad but when she goes no one is going to remember her fondly ,
Shes managed to make all the family not like going or spend time with her
We care for her but no one loves her or can even get close .
It’s tragic really as she could be enjoying life and spending time with her family , she has 9 grown up grandchildren and not one of them will go to see her willingly ,

Im not fat just 6ft too small

        Lizzie, very nice dress .

I don't think MIL will ever change Oma.

Nan2, chatting in the garden with friends or family is one of my favourite things!

Daisy I agree, smaller groups make for better chats with everyone included.

Plant, we are making the most of the baby. He is at the age when he thinks OH and I are the best things since sliced bread Always wanting to come to us.

Gem, I'm sure all your GCs think you and S are the best things since sliced bread. You are brilliant grandparents.

Oma, it's so sad, mainly for your MIL herself that she's the way she is. People don't want to spend time in that sort of atmosphere unless they have to. I think you, B and sister who help look after her are fantastic. I think if I was still cooking 4 meals a week for her, plus all the extras, I'd be leaving them on the front step! It's sad to see so many shops unable to stock their shelves. My DIL2 was saying today that a supplier they use seems to be putting prices up every time they order. What used to cost £8-900 before the pandemic is now nearer £1,600! Today I went into a shop I know is struggling, for an age card. They had one of each age on the stand, spread out to cover as much shelf space as possible. It's so sad.

Nanto, you've got a lovely sociable family. It's so relaxing sitting out in the garden, isn't it.

Lizzie, I love that dress - very stylish and modern. Is is cotton? If so, it will be nice and cool for hot weather.

Good morning, I was wrong about the dress, it hasn't arrived yet, in a van somewhere! Never mind, I have other things to wear!

I was so tired yesterday, I enjoyed having GD2 for the afternoon.

Oma, your MIL must be so miserable, there is a lady at the art group, maybe a coincidence but her mother was German, I have known her a few years from the coffee mornings and now and again, it is now and again, I manage to get a smile from her. Another lady and myself did the coffee last Saturday, it was for the elderly to help them keep moving, it was really good, we had mentioned it on the Friday and asked if she would be there, she was there, she didn't participate in the chair exercises but she was there and was chatting to a few of the ladies there, as she left we asked if she had enjoyed herself, her answer was " well, there were times I wished I had never come"!!!!!

Daisy, the dress isn't cotton, with it being wide it could be cooler, when it arrives that is.

I managed to get a nice bike for GD1, not far from here so we are going for it this evening, DS1 will go as well so it will be 2 cars, I have the carrier. I will get my neighbour to repair the one she has then they have a spare, they both cycle all over the place so need one!

Why are the shelves in all the shops empty! I know about things being expensive, don't mention eating or drinking out, ridiculous! I don't know if it is the same in the UK, there is a new tax here on plastic take away items, when you buy a take away there is a tax added for the container, I was at McDonalds with the girls the other day, there is even an deposit of €1 on containers for ice creams, shakes etc. We have had the deposit on drink cans and small bottles since April.

Gem, you will get so much pleasure out of GS3, such a cute age.

I am doing the coffee this morning for the art group, it is the last one until September I think.

Good morning Lizzie and all who follow.
Cooler this morning but it might warm up a bit.

Well done getting the bike for GD, I bet she will be very happy with it.

Not expecting any visitors today but you never know.

DS2 and his partner are going to Madrid today for 4 nights, it's his birthday on Sunday.

Chicken in breadcrumbs, mashed potatoes and veg for dinner.

Lizzie, you are always so busy, love the dress. You have a lovely relationship with your granddaughters, well done for finding a bike for GD1.

Nanto love the graphic. Enjoy your meal.

I have an appt. With the practice nurse this morning to have an injection for my bones. I need to get petrol and food. My local M&S Foodhall seem to be able to keep their shelves pretty full, it is a very busy shop as there is plenty of parking.
GD1 and her OH are off on holiday tomorrow to the Dominican Republic for a week. My DD and Sil are looking after H.

Good Friday morning, everyone. It's definitely cooler today and we even have rain forecast this morning!

Nanto, what a lovely birthday treat for your DS2. I've never been to Madrid but it looks beautiful, and there's always the option to sit at a pavement cafe and watch the world go by.

Lizzie, well done on finding a bike for GD. It will make things easier if they both have 'spare' bikes. Perhaps your lady at the art group is shy, but she's not helping herself by saying things like that, poor lady.

Sainsburys here - I'll pop back later.

Good morning everyone and Happy Friday.

I hope your son has a lovely time Nan2.

Awww Daisy thank you It's lovely when babies adore you though isn't it?! It's wholeheartedly and uninhibitedly. They also turn on a knife's edge when you dare to want to change their nappy though

Do you think the dress will arrive today Lizzie?

We can't get into our weekend accommodation until 3pm so no rush this morning. Our next door neighbour has just been round to get his greenhouse watering instructions.
We will have wi fi so I won't be out of touch!

Shame the dress hasn’t arrived ,
Its a good idea the deposit on the cartons people will be less likely to just throw them away ,
Hope GD is pleased with her bike .
That lady sounds so much like my MUL she would come out with something like that ,

                      Nanto
Never say never you will be just sitting down for a peaceful half hour and someone will call 😁

Its a bit dull and overcast today ,
B has his annual Army pals meet up. He’s picking his cousin up who served with him ,
they wont stay long as our two youngest are coming after school and his cousin has a appointment at 3.30 to have his Tracheostomy in his throat checked so they need to be back in time for that ,

Not a lot to do today no doubt I will find something 😁
                      All our posts crossed .

Hope GD has a lovely holiday but Next door will be worn out by the time they come back 😁
good luck with your jabs .
Our M&S is the Sam fully stocked , I think it’s a problem with the big supermarkets .

                      Daisy
Hope there is no weird and wonderful substitutes today😁

We nipped into town after dinner.Hubby wanted to go to the bank.
Didn't go in any shops, only Morrisons, because we parked up there.
Went to the cafe for coffee though.

I'm back! It didn't take Sainsbury's that long to deliver, and there was only one substitute - a smaller Persil Non Bio than I'd ordered! Then we decided it was a day for indoor jobs and OH offered to spot treat and Vax-clean the rugs in the hall and living room, plus the half landing where Eva likes to lie. It was all much grubbier than we'd realised, but the Vax is brilliant and has saved us a fortune on carpet cleaning over the years. While OH was doing that I cleaned out my 'baking cupboard', which includes things like rice and pasta and any odd foodstuff that hasn't got a place elsewhere. It was a marathon job, and I've only just put the last few items away, but all the containers are nice and clean and clearly labelled. I think I've earned my Brownie's Cupboard Cleaning badge today!

Oma, I hope B has a good day with his old Army pals. It must be great to see them all, with lots of jokes but also some poignant memories I should think.

Gem, I hope you've had a good journey and are now comfortable in your week-end holiday home. Good to know the greenhouse will be well watered as well. I had to smile at you comment on babies turning on a knife edge when you want to change their nappy! They can easily gotfrom smiles to heartrending ears to smiles in the blink of an eye.

Plant, your DD and SIL are stars for looking after H for a week, but I'm sure you will help with some cuddles and playtimes as well. I hope GD1 and her OH have a great time. How did the injection go?
