Oma, I expect you MIL just likes to complain! When my mum had cancer of the lung my sister went with her to the hospital, the specialist asked how many she smoked, she was a chain smoker as well, mum said "oh, one or two a day", my sister thought she meant packets!!! Bless her!

I have just got home from doing coffee, I must say it was quite chilly on the bike.

            Good morning.A nice morning here.

Just doing the usual kind of housework this morning, including ironing.

Dinner is tomato sausage, mash and spring cabbage.
Must get some of the cabbage into the freezer.

              Good morning everyone.

What a bright bouquet Nan2 My mum loved tomato sausage.

Plant, you could set up a little bulb delivery business!

              Is MIL home now Oma?

We are having overnight guests! DD and SIL3 and baby. DD and I don't see each much now she is back at work as SIL drops off and picks up the baby and DD works from home.
The last few weekends one of us has been away, so DD asked if they could come for a sleepover! I will have the baby all day as usual, they will come after work and we will have fish and chips.

                Good Thursday morning, everyone.

Nanto, it's a nice morning here as well. OH is going to plant a few geraniums we got at the garden centre yesterday, then he's going to get the caravan ready for Saturday. I'm tackling the ironing and doing a birthday dinner for a friend for tonight. There'll only be 5 of us, so not too big a job, and I'm keeping it simple. It will be nice to get my hair cut this morning as it's got very long again.

Gem, how loverly to have DDs and family overnight.

Oma, how is your MIL today? Perhaps if she's still complaining it's a good sign she's feeling better. J was asking how your famous stock of Ikea napkins was a few days ago. I can tell him you're keeping well stocked.

Plant, I don't think I've ever seen pink bluebells, and it's kind of you to share your extra bulbs. Sadly I haven't got anywhere where bluebells would thrive.

Lizzie, I had to smile about the "one or two" a day comment. You'd need to be very rich to do that these days.

Enfys, I hope you're enjoying this lovely weather. Do you get down to the seafront at all?

Good morning, I think I should stick to your bouquets Nanto, I do try and enjoy flowers in the house, but, oh dear, do I pay for it! One bunch I have thrown out, the ones from my friend will go to my neighbour when she is active. Will I ever learn!

Enjoy the visitors Gem. It is a bank holiday here today, ascension day then most people have a long weekend. DS1 is in Spain for his work so he misses out on the long weekend. They are all eating here on Saturday, if his flight goes as planned he will be here in time.

If I feel any better later I hope to have a bike ride for some tomatoes, I need to do shopping for Saturday but I can do that tomorrow. I was lucky enough to get a good box from the Lidl yesterday, they are very popular so getting one is like winning the lottery!

Daisy, I don’t know why or how we have a mixture of colours of bluebells in the garden, I haven;t planted any of them. It will be very upsetting if they encroach into our fabulous bluebell woods. Under the new leaves of the beech trees, they are beautiful. Very exciting getting the caravan ready.

Gemini, It will be lovely to have DD3 and family for a sleepover, does the little one go through the night yet?

Lizzie, what shame you are so allergic to flowers when I assume they are in abundance near you. I am sure your neighbour will enjoy them.

Nanto, I am amazed you can freeze cabbage.

Good Morning everyone,I can't believe the weather is staying so nice no rain for a few days and the sun is shining lets hope it stays that way over the week-end .

Lizzie I love having fresh flowers in the house and will treat myself when ever I go to the Supermarket or visit the farmers market they cut flowers that morning but you have to be there early I bought some roses last week at Sainsbury's and they are still looking fresh in my kitchen this morning.

This afternoon my DGD comes for tea with her daddy we are going for a treat to the Bistro at the bottom of our Road she loves going there and has her own chair the owners are closing the place down on 27th and moving on to another business its such a shame as its very popular with the locals we will miss it, little one always has hot chocolate with marshmallows in a tall special glass she will miss all the special attention she gets we have gone there since she could walk.

DD and partner where expected yesterday but had to cancel as he has trouble with his Range Rover again poor man has had nothing but trouble with it since he bought it such a shame when he works so hard he may put it in PX for a new car at least then he has 3 yrs warranty on a new one.

I'm going to go down to our local sports centre as they have advertised swimming for older people at good times during the morning for £2 per session which is very good and the time is for 1hr per session I am sure it will help ease the pain in my back if I stick at it and go maybe twice a week I am going to ring and book for next week this all came about when I found my swimming suits when decluttering my wardrobe last week.

Talk soon take care everyone x

                        Lizzie

                        Nanto
Im not keen on tomato sausages but B sometimes makes a sausage and tomato pie ,
it sounds gross but it’s surprisingly nice .

                        Gem
How nice they want to stay over and spend time with you DD must have missed you

Hope the Birthday dinner goes to plan x

                        Plant
Strange the pink and white bells have grown when you didn’t plant them ,
I bet they look beautiful though .

Well it’s been all drama with MIL
Screamed at SIL down the phone this morning she was signing herself out wasn’t stopping there etc
SIL had to hang up on her at the finish .

Anyway a senior chest nurse went in to see her and explained why she had to stay in , it’s a flair up of her COPD causing a infection in her right lung
She’s on Intravenous Antibiotics and Oxygen ,

B rang her and she was completely different with him , he didn’t let her get started,
He said they desperate for beds so they won’t keep you in for nothing , They keeping you in for a good reason ,
If you come home and your unwell again you have to go through the same process all over again .

She gave in eventually because B was firm with her ,
His Sister is taking her clean clothes this afternoon then we will go tonight .

Shes angry because she can’t have a cigarette we know what it’s all about .

Life is never dull with her in it 🙄

B took absolutely the right line with his mum Oma. I'm sure you're right about the need to smoke making her desperate to leave. She needs to get this sorted first though,

Glamma £2 is a really good price and swimming will do you good. I pay £4.80 for an aquafit class as a Pay and Play senior member. I think the full price is over £6.

Plant, the baby does go through the night, but sometimes wakes for the day about 5.30am! Today was 7.15 so a lot better.
He is asleep now, after a bit of rampaging around the living room He is crawling fast now. The nursery fireguard has been put in place in our room now

I thought it was going to be a quiet day,but i was wrong.
DS1 and GD2 came, decided to stay for dinner.
They both asked if they could have a full english,so what i prepared for today, has gone in the fridge for tomorrow.
We will have it with pork chops.

Will have to catch up here later.

Been to Hospitals to see MIL , she was full of herself and a lot brighter but still saying she’s coming out tomorrow,
We spoke to charge nurse , the Respiratory team are going in sometime tomorrow to see if she needs Oxygen at home .
If they decide she does she won’t get out till that’s set up and it won’t be done over the weekend

                                Morning all.

Oma just read your posts about MI. It's good that B was able to calm her down, is she scared perhaps and that's why she is saying that she is going to sign herself out .
I'm sure the hospital will do their best to get oxygen in place at her home , as B said they are desperate for beds and she won't be there any longer than is absolutely necessary.
Hope she is feeling better today

OH had his covid booster yesterday which involved a whole day out for us

The medical centre where he had to go is at the other end of town, quite a distance from where we live but that's not a problem for us.
We don't drive but we do have our bus passes and the bus stop is only a 1 minute walk from us and the bus travels all around the edge of the city, avoiding the traffic in the city and it stops right outside the medical centre.
The medical centre is situated within a complex of out of town shops so we first went to B and Q to buy some new paintbrushes, then we passed Dunelm, Halfords and a gym , Hobby Craft, B and M and then we went into Home Bargains to buy a watering can , ( half the price of exactly the same as in B and Q )
We then sat inside the bus shelter which is very conveniently located outside Home Bargains and waited for the next bus that would take us into town .
Whilst we waited for the bus we reminisced about our primary school days as our old school, which is still up and running, is just across the road from the bus stop

The bus dropped us off next to Wilko's where we brought travel size packs of shower gel, shampoo etc for our weekend away in June.
The we had a spot of lunch in a pub, then onto another bus to take us back home.
Once home we put away the shopping, sat on the sofa where we both fell asleep!

This morning is Tesco grocery delivery and apart from that very little planned for today
I really should dust the cobwebs off the iron and ironing board and do some ironing. There are at least 3 pairs of trousers and a shirt waiting for some attention. I haven't done any ironing for at least a few weeks or more!

It was OH's birthday the other day and he was given yet another garden ornament. Its a solar black cat holding a clear ball . At night the ball changes colour, it goes from, red, blue, yellow and green.
I find it quite spooky but OH likes it .
I am seriously considering putting a ban on the amount of ornaments in our garden. When we were in Home Bargains OH was lingering in the garden trash, sorry, ornament aisle much to my horror. I told him to get a wriggle on as our bus was due, phew, managed to avoid yet another purchase for the garden!

                                Have a good day everyone
Bring me sunshine in your smile.
