    Good morning ladies.

Good to know B had nice time Oma, it would do him good.

WG, it has been a tough year for you. I hope you have an enjoyable Christmas and the New Year brings you brighter days xx

Daisy, Oliver's point was that in fact we WILL keep adding to our lists and will never complete them as we will eventually die Cheerful thought. I am a big To Do list maker! I have to confess I too have ready rolled icing , but am going to actually roll out the ready made marzipan myself

It is the family get together with my mum today. All at DD2' for lunch. I am making assorted sandwiches to take and DD has ordered other things in. The girls will give mum her Christmas presents and she will get to see all the GGC. As DD and GS1 have something else going on during the afternoon this is to be an early gathering. We are picking mum up at 11.

This afternoon I am going to marzipan the cake, and make a Quorn shepherds pie for Boxing Day.

Good morning everyone, you have a busy day Gem. I haven't a "to do" list, just take life as it comes.

I am slowly getting my shopping in, I have the pears and drinks so I will get the meat etc in the next few days.

Daisy, pleased all went well for your DIL, I hope the log burner has been fitted now and working the the Christmas period.

Nanto, I was reading about the ambulance strike etc, worrying if someone is ill or has a fall.

I am going out on the bike but I can't decide which way, I was telling a friend I was looking for a new TV, she said "again"! I have had this one 10 years!!!

WG, so sorry you are feeling low, a few days with your son will, do you good. This year has been a bit of a whirl for you, perhaps you haven’t given yourself time to grieve.

Gemini, how lovely for your mum to be with you all, it is her day. I think you are a lovely family, so caring for each other.

Apparently too much VitD can affect your memory. I am hoping to get to feed those ducks today.

Oma, I hope B had an enjoyable time with his army friends. I hope Storm is fully recovered now and back to eating his treats.

            Good Thursday morning everyone.

Lizzie, you sound very well organised with your shopping. Enjoy your bike ride, and I hope you find your new Tv. We didn't realise how poor our old one was until we got a new one.

Gem, I do hope your Mum enjoys this afternoon, and seeing the whole family together, especially all the grand children. Roll out marzipan is very easy, but the first time I used it I ended up with 'pleats' round the sides! I had to smile about the To Do list always being added to. That's what I do, so no wonder I never complete them - but eventually I just give up on some things or they cease to be important.

WeeGranny, safe journey, and a restful, peaceful Christmas at your DS's.

Nanto, how many mincepies will you make> I make extra pastry yesterday to make an apple tart with, but I'll have to make more mincepies as well!

Between Sainsburys delivery and OH having a problem with eBay, I haven't got much done yet. He was speaking to someone about it, but his hearing isn't great and if he's talking to someone with a strong accent he can't tell what they're saying, so I ended up trying to communicate the problem. So back to the To Do list now!

Daisy, not sure how many mince oies i'll make. Also want to make some rich coconut tarts.
Will see how far the pastry goes.

Gem, i bet you will all have a lovely afternoon.

              Hairdresser came this morning.
I've changed the bedding and cleaned all upstairs.
Bedding has been washed but couldn't put it out on the line. Its drizzling here.

Lizzie, have fun deciding which tv to get.

                Afternoon ladies ,
Im very late today , it’s just been hectic here.

We we’re at Aldi for 8 this morning, Didnt want much but did get some nice treats and a Stuffed Duck ,
Came home put that away , had a quick drink then back to Sainsburys for cakes for MIL ,
Got her a Angel cake and a Maderia that she wanted and her Cigarettes.

Drove to hers , put her washing away , bin out , put food we had made in freezer ,
B sorted her internet out and I had to go in the shed to find some new washing pegs she was convinced she had , none there .

Just before we left she gave me some books to take to her Hairdresser then decided to give us a shopping list ,

So off we went to Hairdressers dropped them in and I bought her a hairdressing voucher while I was there .
From there to (by this time )a very packed Morrisons .
Amongst her shopping she wanted a TV mag but I had to buy the one that was 72pnot the one that was 75p 🤨
only ones they had was the double edition at £1.50 .
B said get it I will pay for it so she can’t grumble .

Came back with shopping she had forgotten to add milk , so off I went to the little local shop she wasn’t happy as theirs is 20p more than supermarket , I told her we were not going back to Morrisons just for milk , she could have phoned us while we were up there .

By this time it was 12.30
Had to call in 3 shops on way home to try find Screen wash would you believe no one has any in stock ,
Finally had to go to Alfords for some .

By time we sat down for lunch we were exhausted.

I will catch up with everyone at some point today 😀

Oma, that was a hectic morning, I think I would feel like str@@@@@ing her! I had a neighbour on the 3rd floor, she was alone and I used to help her, always the same as your MIL, nothing was ever right, one day she wanted a clock for her bedside table, but, it had to have large numbers etc so that she could see it, off I go, I went round all the shops, finally I found one at a local store, I took her it, you would never guess what she said???? That is no good from that cheap store!!!! I was so annoyed I came home and threw the clock against the wall! It ended up in pieces!!!

Did you feed the ducks Plant?

Oh Oma, that so sounds like the sort of carry on we had with shopping requests from my mum, in later years when she was still at home. I hope you have had a good rest this afternoon.

Lizzie, that lady was ungrateful, no wonder you were cross!

We had a nice time at DD2's. After some palaver getting mum to the car it went smoothly from then. Mum enjoyed seeing her family and I was there to 'manage' everything. We were there over 2 and a half hours and she was so tired by the time we left! I think she was almost glad to say goodbye when we dropped her off, laden down with presents

I covered the cake with marzipan this afternoon.

Oma, your MIL is so lucky you and B are very patient with her. I'm sure I wouldn't be that helpful! Enjoy your evening with Storm - it's good to hear he's back to his normal mischievous self. You can't beat a game of tug with your squeaky shark!

Lizzie, your ungrateful neighbour was so lucky you didn't throw the clock at her!

Gem, that photo is stunning! Absolutely gorgeous, and a special moment in time. Your Mum did well to cope with such a busy Christmas get together. Will she open her presents on Christmas day? I'm going to do my marzipan tonight!

Nanto, I made two lots of pastry in the food processor yesterday, so I've got enough to make an apple tart and a few mince pies. But I think I'll have to make more, and jam tarts go down well as well. It sounds as though your family like your coconut tarts!

Today seems to have gone very quickly. After trying to sort out OH's IT problems, I had a chat with DIL1. She woke up in the night with her eye hurting, but took painkillers and got back to sleep again. She saw the Consultant at lunch time and he was very pleased with how her eye is looking, and she has to see him again at the beginning of January, but she can drive as soon as she feels up to it. She's never had useable vision in that eye so in one sense she's always driven with one eye. Any vision she gains is a bonus.

I took Cooper back home at lunch time. He was shattered and almost immediately fell asleep in front of the new wood burner! It looks very nice - just the decorating to do now!

After a late lunch I felt really tired and fell asleep for nearly 2 hours! I'm going to get dinner, do the Christmas cake and get an early night!
