That sounds a nice outing with lunch Oma

We had 3 swims today. Pool and sea in the morning, sea again in the afternoon!

It's been one of those annoying days today! Pile of mail after several days without any. First was a letter from tax man, seems I owe them money, but they're kindly letting me pay it off in instalments; next a letter re OH's shares, they need another from which I am sure I had already sent. Phoned the company and she went through all the paperwork they have, no Form 1. Luckily it only needed my signature, so I got that done and went to post office with it. Their letter was dated 25th August and it only arrived today. B***** postal strikes!
Next door decided to hoover out his cars just outside my kitchen window. The noise was horrendous and seemed to be in every room! He's finished now, thank goodness!

We had torrential rain and thunderstorms through the night. What with that last night and fireworks at midnight on Saturday, I'm hoping for a night of uninterrupted sleep tonight!

New TV arriving tomorrow. I've asked them to set it up for me rather than do it myself. No doubt the family will find some excuse to visit and check it out. Also tomorrow someone is coming to measure up for curtains for the bay window and my bedroom. I don't really like the venetian blinds in the front room and think curtains will make it cosier. The bedroom ones are quite thin, so I'm getting thicker ones. hard today that the black out blinds for the velux windows have arrived and should be fitted next week, needless to say the fitter's on holiday this week! I'm getting ones that are controlled remotely, so I don't have to faff about with a pole! I'm terrified of it slipping and going through the windows!

We've got a lovely farm shop near us Oma with a lovely restaurant. DD tells me they have a great Christmas market there so I need to keep an eye out for that being advertised. I can walk there, but I don't fancy walking back with a bag of fruit and veggies!

Hope all poorly people soon feel better. Have a good evening ladies xx

We all seem to be busy at the moment!

Plant, glad the hen do went well. Have you heard how Baby H was at the child minders? She's such a happy little soul and seems very outgoing, so I bet she had a great time.

Lizzie, I'm exhausted reading about your exercise classes and gym.

Glamm, I hope you're not too tired after your early start. I think your black, white and red scheme will look very stylish in your kitchen. I hope you find the wallpaper you had in mind? It sounds as though Oliver has got you wound round his little paws, but it's good to know he can get in when he needs to, the little monkey.

Nanto, how are you and your OH feeling? Sending hugs.

Gem, so pleased your holiday is going well and the weather is being kind to you. With all that swimming I think you could treat yourself to any dessert on the menu tonight.

WeeGranny, I'm sorry you've had such a frustrating day, and the tax man asking for money is never going to help, is it. How annoying your neighbour cleaning out his cars like that. You'll have the new curtains in time for the long dark evening and I'm sure it will feel cosier than the blinds. I hope you are pleased with your new tv.

I had a lovely time this morning with our neighbour-friends. We were just about to sit down to coffee in the garden when the heavens opened. We debated wether to go indoors or sit round the corner in their garden under a beautiful shelter - just a roof and open on all sides. It was still warm - about 20C, so we decided to stay outside. The rain seemed to freshen the air and it was lovely sitting outdoors, totally dry watching the downpour. Yes, there was a delicious apple cake made with apples from their own trees. One neighbour who moved away a few months ago also joined us and it was great to catch up with her. We laughed till we ached, and had a brilliant time.

After lunch I took Eva out and by then it had stopped raining and the sun was shining again. I baked banana cake and flapjack this evening, and I'll prep meals for tomorrow first thing in the morning - DS1, DIL and Bailey won't be here until about 12.

              Good morning ladies.

Daisy, laughing like that is wonderful and does us so much good Remember how we laughed with our friends when we were young?!

I hope today is less frustrating WG!

our cat sitter friend keeps sending photos of our cat, so I know he is OK! She found one of our hedgehogs shut in the garage! He must have wandered in at some point. She took him to the feeding station ( wrapped in a towel) and he started eating so we are guessing he is OK. I asked her to check that he is not out in daylight today.

              Time for breakfast soon 😎

Had rain during the night again.

                  Gem, little man is lovely.

WG, new blinds and curtains will make it look cosy for winter.

We are popping into town this morning. We are allowed.
They say you can go to work with covid if you feel well enough, and wear face coverings.

I've read a few Wilko stores are closing. Looked at the list and none of the closures are in towns where we go.

Our new PM start today. She can't make things much worse can she.

Good luck to Liz Truss. As you say Nan2 she can hardly do worse than Boris towards the end of his term.
I do hope our Wilko isn't closing!

WG, still very busy making your new home your own. The farm shop you speak of is where we had the Hen tea, they put on a very good spread. Perhaps we could have lunch there when you are straight, although it sounds as if you will still be busy.

Gemini, what a sweet face your new GS has, he is perfect, love his expression. A week of your holiday gone, keep swimming and then you can eat more delicious food.

Daisy, it is good to have a laugh with family and friends. Have a lovely day with your family.

We have two nights now with a storm and lots of rain, we are supposed to have sun later. the grass is gradually getting green again. Had my stitch removed yesterday so now wait for the biopsy result. I need to take my car to the local garage today, it is showing that I need engine oil.

Curtains measured up, now wait to find out what it's going to cost me!!! TV arriving between 3 and 5.

It is lovely at the farm shop Plant and the staff are lovely too! I had a fantastic slice of cake when I stopped there for sustenance on my walk the other week! Yes, we must meet up there in the not too distant future.

Hoping that the post, if I get any, doesn't bring me any more nasty surprises today. Not much planned for the rest of the day, will take it as it comes!

Daisy, I'm sure me neighbour didn't know I was having 'one of those days' when he started cleaning the cars! Not a sound today, but I think Tuesday is his tennis day so he'll be out all day.

The sun is shining, so I may go and do a bit of clearing in the garden. The ground will be nice and wet so it'll be easy to pull things up.

Enjoy the sunshine an swimming Gem! Plant hope the biopsy finds what's causing the problem. Hope the poorly people soon feel better and that everyone has a good day xx

Gem, the York branch of Wilko wasn't on the list.

                          No sunshine here WG.

Hallo, after yesterday I took it easy this morning! It was the heat that did it, everyone was the same. I have been to the gym, later then just had a lovely bike ride to the goat farm, my GPS sent me along a different cycle path, it was nice cycling along the lake. I called in at the chicken grill on the way home and got a chicken leg, I had green beans etc to warm up so I have had my warm meal, I enjoyed it as well.

We had thunder and rain during the night, I was so tired I slept through it all.

WG, you are doing well getting the curtains, TV etc ordered.

Plant, a good thing the stitch it out, when do you get the results of the biopsy?

Oma, your GS must be very pleased that you live locally!
