    Hello everyone.

Nan2, you can't go wrong with chips, beans and egg!
A veggie pasta bake for us tonight I think, with lots of mushrooms and cheese.

I am going to visit my mum this afternoon and DD3 will come to and bring the baby. Mum will love that I hope it's not too much of a tearful day for mum. She varies such a lot.

Gemini, I am sure your mum will love seeing GD and GGS.

Looks like another fine day, we are going to visit a submarine back near Cherbourg, we shall have lunch out but they are planning a pre-birthday dinner with cake as the young family are leaving tomorrow. We visited a very famous biscuit shop yesterday, lots of lovely boxes of mainly almond flavoured biscuits. We were hoping to see them made but that wasn’t on offer.

Early start for me, fitter arrived at ten to eight!! Luckily I was up and showered and was just about to move the car so he could park right outside the house. So I moved car and he took the space and he's drilling away. Says he'll be until six and if he doesn't manage to get finished, he'll come back tomorrow. I can hear him drilling away at the moment.

Another grey day here. I shall crack on with the ironing and I might get a box or two from the shed and have a look through them. I'm sure some of the stuff can be disposed of.

Feel better today after a non day yesterday. SiL has tested positive for Covid, so I tested myself, but thankfully I'm negative. I'd seen him on Monday and DD was worried that he'd passed it on to me.

Sounds as if you're having a lovely time Plant! Hope the family enjoy Disneyland.

Hope you have a good visit to Mum, Gem. I'm sure she'll be happy t see GD and GGS!

Whatever you're up to, enjoy your day ladies xx

Good Morning and what a sunny day it is here the sun is cracking the flags and it is very warm indeed.I had a good trip to the light show in Liverpool lots of families enjoying the experience its so good for business in the little cafe's that surround The Albert Dock area.

Has anyone ever sent via post or had one sent to them "The Cornish Cream Tea" my friend lives in Scotland and she has had a loss in her family and is feeling very down and I wanted to send her something to brighten her day and just wondered if they as good as the reviews state. I am more concerned about the freshness of the scones more than anything but all reviews state they are yummy.

I've changed all my bedding over to my teddy fleece sets now the colder weather has arrived at night time so all comfy & cosy during the night now I have two sets so no worries when doing a change over as I have a spare set.

This afternoon I'm off to Aldi to do a big shop first big shop for a few weeks I need fresh veg & fruit again so will see what is on offer this week.

To-morrow is my day to meet my friend for coffee & cake in Town she was poorly last week with Covid I just need to check later she is now germ free.

Off now to shower & get dressed as I have been lazy this morning listening to radio and catching up with friends via email.

Thanks for the enquiries about my DGs birthday earlier this week he had a quiet day as he was full of cold it was his 32nd birthday he is just my pride & joy I remember the day he arrived so vividly DD was only in labour with him for 35mins such a quick delivery I only just had time to park my car before he was delivered those years have passed so quickly,he is such a clever boy all the family call him "Lord Sugar" as he is red hot on with financial bumpf.

            Bye for now ladies xx

Morning, very sunny and warm here, I have just got the windows done.

WG, you will be pleased when the drilling etc is finished, you will be pleased with the results though.

Plant, you seem to have enjoyed the holiday.

Gem, enjoy your visit to your mum, it is so sad, I called in to see my friend yesterday, I couldn't find her, I finally met her in the hall, she said "that is a coincidence meeting you here, are you living here now?" After a while it came to her who I was but I can see she is getting worse, the carer told me that the other day, she needs help now with showering etc, that annoys her and she get really annoyed with them!

DS1 and family are having a great time in Maastricht, 24 degrees, unbelievable.

Oma, that is one thing I don't like, marmalade, why I don't know, I can remember my late sister loved it, it maybe seems too much like jelly to me.

I don't know if I mentioned that my neighbours dog was ill, they had it put to sleep on Monday, it was only 6 years old. They are very upset of course.

I am going to cut the olives off the trees, if they fall on the balcony and squash they leave a stain!

Hello everybody. I've just read through the last couple of day's posts, but my head's still in a bit of a whirl from the last week, so forgive my lack of comments at the moment.

We've had a lovely few days with our niece, K, although there wasn't time to do everything we would have liked.

On Tuesday evening we went to a local bar for cheese, charcuterie and wine. It was more like having a whole meal, and we definitely didn't want the dinner I'd cooked when we got home. K came to dog training with me on Wednesday, and Eva was on her best behaviour. Yesterday K and I took her out for a long walk. The weather has been very warm and mostly sunny, so it was nice to be out.

K left after breakfast this morning, then a friend called round to bring back their spare keys. They had locked themselves out a couple of nights ago! He stayed for a coffee and a chat, and while he was here our new oven arrived. OH and our neighbour are going to install it tomorrow - all the wiring has been done, but I think I can be excused cooking duties tonight!

Just going to make lunch and then take Eva out. This week seems to have flown by.

                  Hello again.

I'm glad you are having good weather Plant.

Hopefully you will stay negative WG.

I hope your friend is better now and you can meet up Glamma

So sad to have to put a pet to sleep Lizzie.

I like dark marmalade Oma. OH prefers Golden Shred.

No cooking tonight for sure Daisy! That sounds a nice time you spent with your niece.

A difficult time with mum this afternoon but with nice moments. She did enjoy seeing the baby, and DD of course. I always feel so sad and down after these visits. I have messaged DD3 now she is home and she said she's OK. I'll write more on YEO.
I've had a coffee and Kit Kat to cheer myself up. I think a glass of red may follow soon!

                  Happy Friday night everyone.

Its been a good day here. It was raining until about 10ish,but when it stopped the sun came out.
Changed the bedding and it dried lovely in strong wind.
                    All upstairs cleaned.

Nephew and his wife paid a visit about 5ish. Had a lovely catch up with them.
They only live up the road, but we don't see them much.

Bedroom all finished and I'm really pleased with it. The fitter didn't stop all day and he left the room clean and tidy. DD and GS came round and helped get the bed set up and tomorrow I can start putting clothes in a wardrobe! Just waiting for the curtains to arrive and that's the room finished.

Ironing all done, one and a half boxes sorted and I made carrot soup in my slow cooker. I'm quite impressed by how tasty it is, the soup, not the cooker!

Need to go to the library tomorrow and do some food shopping.

                        Night night ladies xx

                          Only supermarket shopping today.
Need to get 2 birthday presents while we out. A bottle of wine for and some cans of lager for another.

WG, sounds like you had a good worker yesterday.

I hope the rain stops before you go out Nan2.

I hope Plant has a lovely holiday birthday!

No plans today, apart from going out this evening. To a local Indian restaurant to celebrate 2 birthdays of our group of friends.
I want to make an apple cake today, and we have a few things to put into the loft.

                            Happy Saturday everyone.

Good morning, WG, you will be pleased with the bedroom when it is finished. I will try the carrot soup, my neighbour came the other day with pumpkin soup and it was delicious.

Nanto, enjoy the shopping, I have just been to the supermarket in the village, we get a voucher each year from out postal code lottery, we pay for it of course in the long run, it is for vegetarian products, I often buy them there and love the beetroot burger.

I will see if Vatican Girl is on our Netflix.

We watched the second episode of Vatican girl last night only 1 more to watch tonight I think
                                It was really good ,

                                Enjoy your meal tonight ,
B made Apple cake on Tuesday we took a large portion to his Mams 😁

it’s very dark and wet here hope it’s dry when you go shopping , are you going to have lunch out ?

                                WG
Once your curtains arrive you will have a very posh new room 😁

Ive never tried Carrot soup , Im not sure I would like it as I don’t like cooked carrots only raw ones ,
Well I tell a lie my DD at Christmas does roast carrots in orange juice and honey they are lovely , but plain carrots are not my thing , I will eat a few if put on a plate but don’t enjoy them.

                                Daisy
Will you be having a easy day today after having your guest all week ?

I have done my Saturday downstairs blitz , I will do upstairs tomorrow although it doesn’t need much doing mainly hoovering really ,

B is taking the cooker hood off for me and giving it a good clean , I can wipe it down when it’s pulled out and open but can’t really get to it ,
Im not tall enough to reach from the floor and if I stand on steps I have to sort of bend down under it and can’t see what I’m doing ,
Its easier for B to take it apart for me

I have a white gloss sideboard storage cupboard in My dinning room , it’s quite heavy but will slide out on the dinning room wood floor but I don’t try to pull it out on my own very often ,
I did this morning and found behind it a lot of broken glass ,

We have a tall white larder cupboard to match on the other wall and last week a glass bowl fell out when B opened the door and shattered on the floor ,
We thought we had gotten all the pieces but obviously not they were all down the back of this unit ,
Not sure how they managed as it goes right to the floor , a mystery there 🙄
