Oma, we have a member who has a group at her house every month, she provides ideas she has prepared, otherwise we take the two hours not getting anywhere. We do other crafts throughout the year. . Last year we did baubles for the tree, this year we are doing stars. I have this afternoon also been to the games afternoon in the village hall, I played a form of dominoes and a form of Rummy called rummy kin, so a busy day. I feel a pre-dinner drink coming on.

The fair has arrived on the village green, they were just setting up. It always reminds me of the Miss Read books.

We have never had an electric test done, what a good idea. Our bungalow is about 70 years old and the annex is slightly younger. Lots of extensions and changes have been made over the years. Perhaps we should consider it.

Glamm, a good idea to get the brake pads done before they are needed. I hope you had a lovely time with your DD and DS.

Gem, that's the life, isn't it! Lovely long swim, relaxing on a sunbed and having someone put a glass (or 2) of Sangria in your hand.

Glam, isn't amazing how pets know just where to put their paws to cause maximum mess! It's a good job we love them. None of our GCs are close enough to just drop in for a meal, but they always seem to tuck in when they are here. I have to admit, I love feeding them. Have a lovely time tomorrow.

I agree - I would have asked the garage to do the brake pads as well, especially with winter on its way.

Oma, it's certainly sensible to get those electrical checks done. We had a whole new distribution board (I think that's what it's called) put in when we were doing some alterations.

We had a heavy downpour about 8pm , one flash of lightning and one clap of thunder that was it , lasted about 10 minutes

MIL day today , take her food to last 3 days and her cigarettes , see what mood she’s in today

Good morning, duller here and showers forecast, I have to take my Ebike for a service, so, I hope the showers fall elsewhere! We have had rain in the night and much more forecast. Nanto, I hope our rain holds until during the night, I do doubt it though.

I got all the windows cleaned inside yesterday, managed to change my tights and put ointment on my toes and it helped. I have quite a few things for the charity shop now. I even went for a walk after tea with M from next door, I mentioned that I try to get a walk in after tea and she said she would like to give it a try, we went last night and we both enjoyed it, we walked through the woods near here, she had never been there. She didn't realise it was so nice there.

Good morning everyone. We are having spells of sunshine and spells of torrential rain. Our grass is growing really fast but if far too wet to cut! I can see why people give up on gardening in this country!

Nanto, don't overdo the indoor jobs. Make time for a bit of relaxing as well.

Oma, fingers crossed your MIL is in a good mood. You do look after her very well making her meals, and running her errands.

Lizzie, how lovely that your friend and neighbour M enjoyed the walk as well. It's amazing that you can live somewhere and not know where the nice walks are.

No plans for me today. I was really tired last night and was in bed by 10 o'clock. I slept until 8 this morning, so must have needed the sleep. I've got lots for jobs to do, but may ignore them all. I'll see.

Raining here again and it looks as if it's here to stay! I got caught in one of yesterday's downpours after I'd been to the hairdresser yesterday! Luckily I had a raincoat with me, but I was like a drookit rat by the time I got back to the car!

Today, I had my postponed golf lesson which went quite well. A few tweaks to my stance and swing and the balls were going everywhere!!!!

I am now summoning up the energy to visit Mr Tesco. DS is arriving back tomorrow and he's put his requests in for foodstuff. Then i need to finish off a birthday cake for GS who has requested a VIctoria sponge with jam and buttercream. I got the cake made yesterday, so it just needs finishing off. I think I'm eating round there tonight, but not 100% sure.

An early start tomorrow as DS arrives at 7.50 am. He did offer to get coach or train, but it adds several hours to his journey, so I said I'd pick him up. He'll probably spend the rest of the day asleep.

DD and some of her colleagues are carrying out a timed visit to several hotels today. They've discovered that some of their employees, in quite high positions, have set up a cleaning company and are invoicing the hotel for work that's never been carried out and the money's gone into their personal accounts. The money runs into several hundreds of thousands of pounds! Luckily, the scam has been found out before they can take much more money, it was only found out when someone queried the name on an invoice as being the same as a company employee, checked and the same name was given as a company director along with other employees names. It'll be interesting to hear how she gets on.
