Nanto, it has been dry here all day but blowing a gale! The jam isn't all for me, I have regular "customers" and the man from the gym will take any I have! I just enjoy picking the blackberries and making the jam.

We had a lovely party for baby E.
He enjoyed it all despite being visibly surprised to wake from his afternoon nap to find most of his family in his living room
He was so good all the time, but he always is.
I have put a few photos on FB as DD1 has!

Here is one with his teddy cake made by mummy.

I'm just a tiny bit late popping in here today!

I was out early, taking Eva over to DS2's to play with Cooper, as we were going to a music festival in a nearby village. It was on for 3 days, but yesterday the weather was awful - as others have said - torrential rain and high winds. I see in the news the weather caused a lot of boats (86!) to retire in the Fastnet Race. I think Poole harbour must have been pretty crowded!

Anyway, we were lucky with the weather today. There were 6 of us - DS1, GS2, our neighbours and us. A friend who lives in the village where the festival was kindly offered us parking spaces, and we took chairs and enough snacks to feed a small army. There was a really good band playing when we arrived, and we quickly got in festival mood! The next act wasn't really suited to the occasion - they did say they were more used to playing in nursing and care homes. The headline act today was several of the original members of Dire Straits, and they were superb. The whole atmosphere was fun and people happily chatted to each other. The village green, where the stage was, was absolutely packed.

DS1 and GS2 came with us to collect Eva and we all stayed for a cup of tea with DS2 and family.

I hadn't been particularly looking forward to the event but am so glad we went - it was great fun.

I'll catch up with everyone else tomorrow. It's definitely bedtime, now.

Good morning. I don't think the weather forecast is any better for today. Getting a bit fed up of the rain now.

Daisy pleased you enjoyed the music festival.

Gem, lovely photo. Glad the party went well.

Lizzie, I'm sure those jars of jam will be well received.

Dinner today is chicken left over from yesterday with chips and beans.

            Morning Nanto/Ladies

Same here Nanto so dreary , although I bet all those with wild fires would welcome it
            Heartbreaking isn’t it ,
Tourists stranded at airports but at least they have only lost holiday stuff , those poor locals have lost homes and everything .

            Daisy
That sounds a lovely afternoon , sometimes you dread going and it turns out to be wonderful 😁
Is Cooper still refusing to get in the car ?

Im off to see Hospital Diabetic nurse at 9 to see how I’m doing on the insulin injections, Im doing great actually no problems at all.
Then we of to the dreaded IKEA 😁
Poor B has no option but to come in today I’m looking for a desk with drawers to act as a dressing table , so he has to look.

I have a lovely dressing table now but it only has 3 small drawers not enough space for all my stuff , it ends up cluttering the top and I hate stuff out on show that doesn’t need to be .

I will pop back later xx

Good Monday morning, everyone. It's dry but cloudy here, so today could go either way with the weather!

Gem, a lovely photo of E's first birthday - I hope he enjoyed that lush cake!

Lizzie, the jam looks great. I wish I lived next door!

Plant, I hope you feel more energised today. I think we all have days when we'd sooner stay in bed though. Does the Penn festival cause a lot of disruption locally? It's such a shame when the weather spoils things, isn't it. The local one we went to yesterday was washed out on Saturday, but yesterday couldn't have been more different.

WeeGranny, this weather is so changeable it must be a nightmare for sporting events, and anything planned for outdoors. I'm sure your DS and GS will be very grown up, and save you from the need to go to the shopping mall. What is the weather like there?

Oma, the wildfires look terrifying. I can't imagine what it must be like literally having to run from the flames like that. As you say, the locals lose everything, not just their holiday stuff, although that is bad enough. You're doing very well with your injections - I'm sure the diabetic nurse will give you a gold star sticker. I hope you find what you want at IKEA. Tell B to be brave and grin and bear it to keep you happy. I hate stuff lying around too, but in our house it's a constant battle which I don't always win.

Nanto, what pretty flowers this morning. Thank you. x

                Good morning everyone.

Daisy I'm glad the good weather was with you at least and that you had nicer day than you expected! E loved the cake. He is given very little sweet stuff, so its real treat for him
His mummy had the same cake for her first birthday but she was distraught when we cut into the teddy. GS was unconcerned about his, more intent on eating strawberries

It's fine here Na2, I hope it comes your way!

                Have fun in IKEA Oma!

Aquafit this morning, no plans the rest of the day. I am trying to do 2 classes a week whenever I can Monday as well as my regular Wednesday. Some Monday mornings are booked with other things but if I am free I will go.

                Have a good week ladies.

Gem, enjoy your aquafit. It's such a good form of exercise, isn't it.

Your poor DD3 being upset when her teddy cake was cut. I can just picture E tucking into the strawberries while keeping an eye on his cake. I bet he loved it.

Oma, I hope B enjoys his trip to Ikea, treat him softly. Well done to manage your insulin injections.

Gemini, I am sure the teddy cake was delicious, GS will be blowing out the candles next year. Strawberries and chocolate are delicious. Well done for doing. two classes of Aquafit. I am really missing my class.

Daisy, sounds like fun at your music festival. There is a bit of disruption on the roads leading to the music festival but not close enough to effect us.

Feeling a bit more energised today, need to go to the P.Office to post a parcel, apart from that nothing planned. GGD2 was here overnight, her parents were ill with a sickness bug, DD was also ill but Sil fetched H and kept her here. Sil just dotes on her. Her parents have recovered and are fetching her later.

Lizzie, I have just made some gooseberry jam, friend gave me the gooseberries. Those blackberries look gorgeous, I haven’t picked any for years.

Nanto, I am fed up with the dull, rainy weather, although I did get a sit in my sunroom yesterday and promptly fell asleep.

B tried to wiz round in his wheelchair but I kept dragging him back to look at things ,
I then went upstairs for some napkins ( Well you have to don’t you 😁) and some food storage boxes for GS

He was pleased to get out , I then dragged him over the road to Asda 😁

Oma, B is very patient, but I'm sure he enjoyed your 'guided' tour of IKEA! Glad you got what you wanted. Has B got the job of assembling them>

Plant, it's dull and showery here today as well and not very warm either! Oh dear, sickness bugs are horrible. I hope GGD2's mum and dad and your DD are soon better. My MIL used to make gooseberry jam - yummy!

It's shame you cant go to your aqua classes Plant, I can imagine how you miss them.

We had a lovely visitor this afternoon
C next door with his new baby daughter. She is so beautiful and tiny (6lb 3 oz) She has her mummy's black hair and her eyes.
Her name is Sophia. Almost the same name as her mummy! It was so lovely to meet her. We didn't get a cuddle this time as she was fast asleep in her car seat. It was so lovely to see her though.

                              You keep safe too.
Its a long time since we have seen Gooseberry’s in the shops , used to love Gooseberry Jam and crumble .

                              Daisy
Yes he will put them together he’s good at things like that.

Nurse was very pleased with my readings , I had to write down each test I did twice a day before my injections and she said they were good ,
No more blood tests till September , the day after we come back from Birmingham.

Its actually stopped raining and looks. Quite bright for a change.
