    Good morning all.

Nan2 enjoy your time to yourself.

GS2 and I are going to a farm/playpark this afternoon. He finishes school at 2.15 today so I had promised to take him. It's not far from where I live and the weekday term time prices are much lower than the school holiday ones, so today is a good opportunity. Sadly the forecast is a high probability of thunder and showers when we will be there!! He is so looking forward to it that I think we will have to go. There is an indoor playbarn with café, so we may be hanging out in there for the worst of the weather!

Oma, I'm so sorry about B. As you say everything gets thrown his way

Sting is fine now thanks. It was very sore all yesterday but OK now.

Oma, sorry to hear about B, life is so unfair sometimes.

Gem, enjoy the farm/playpark with GS2.

Hubby left just over an hour ago, so i've tidied round,
washed the downstairs floors, so i think its coffee time now.

Good morning, ladies the Ikea unit certainly wasn't cheaper, but, I must say it looks really good and M is really pleased with it.

Poor B Oma, is he coping ok with the osteoporosis ?

Gem, wasp stings can be so nasty!

Good Friday morning, everyone. Where do the weeks go!!

It's dry here but a bit breezy and none too warm - I've just had to go and put a cardi on.

Nanto - beans on toast are a good standby. I heard a talk from someone who works for the Trussell Group on Wednesday. They are a kind of loose association of food banks (among other activities) and in response to a question about how could people support them he said one route was by donating to the food banks - but no baked beans, please. They get tons of them!

Oma, poor B. If anyone deserves a bit of luck and good news it's him. Disappointing results from that bone scan, but how is he feeling? Was he aware of extra pain in his hips? I do hope they can do something to help him. Give him a (gentle) hug from me. x

Gem, I hope the rain holds off for you and GS2 this afternoon, but at least there is the option of the indoor area. What lovely news that there is a new baby next door. I do hope her poor mum recovers quickly. Yes, her parents must be wishing they were much closer, but MILs can be just as supportive.

Plant, I suppose any kind of infection can upset a baby's delicate digestive system. I remember my DS2 being so ill one night we called the doctor out (as you could in those days). Poor little lad was barely conscious, but the doctor took one look at him, checked his ears and pronounced it was an ear infection. He hadn't shown any signs of earache or anything, just a bit of an upset tummy.

Not many plans for me today - just portion up some dog food and mow the lawn if it stays dry. OH and his chums are working on the kit car - I keep hearing grinding noises. No idea what they are doing, though!

I still haven't managed to get Glamm connected to us again. Just off to try something else now.

just got card thank you 😁
yes he has been having a lot of trouble with his hips , unfortunately it’s because of the drugs he was on with chemo then the anti rejection drugs for the transplant .
The spinal one is due to having two spinal fusions in the past , wear and tear as he aged.

He copes and never complains uses his crutches daily and if he is really bad his wheelchair , so he’s used to it all now .
Dr has just rang again with appointment for Hospital and he wants to examine him himself too so that’s next month .

Strange how they can find a appointment slot when it’s at their convenience but not if you ring yourself isn’t it

              Gem
Hope the rain keeps off , how’s the tooth ?
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Daisy be careful mowing the lawn with a sore shoulder!

Oma, tooth fine. No pain when she did it or afterwards, and just fingers crossed the filling stays in place a good few years!
B is such a trouper, he's not a complainer is he?

Forecast is now slightly better for this afternoon ! Still a breeze and high probability of rain but no thunderstorms now. I notice on the website that the indoor play area closes at 3 on term time weekdays though How silly. We won't be there before 3, or not more than a few minutes at most. The whole place is open until 5.30, so closing that part at 3 is not very fair in my opinion!

Oma, was the onset of B’s mobility problems due to his being injured when he was in the army in Ireland?

Gemini, what a swiz that the indoor section of the play park will be closed whilst you are there.

I have an appt. With the nurse at the surgery in 20 mins, they want some more blood.

Yes Plant all due to his injuries that got worse over the years , along with lots of other issues . He hasn't had the greatest of health but he's a trooper just gets on with things 😁

Oma, B is amazing with all he's been through.

Gem, how frustrating that the play area closes so early! If it's threatening rain I hope everyone goes in there at 2.55 and they decide to keep it open a bit longer today! Glad your filling is ok. It must be a 'good tooth' week, as OH's wisdom tooth extraction has caused him no problems either. (Fingers crossed for both of you.)

I can do most of the lawn one-handed, and it's a press-button start, so not a problem. Trimming the edges is harder though.

Plant, I hope they don't want too much blood this time. You must feel like a pincushion!

I still haven't sorted out Glamm's access problem - I've got to leave off for now but will keep trying.

They are checking if my blood “D” count has gone down since they halved my tablets. I also have to have a machine on my feet in a couple of weeks to check if the blood flo is okay since I had that blood clot. I phoned a number that was on-line to book to get my toe nails cut, they are not a problem but I find it difficult to get in a position to cut them without difficulty. I had a text from the lady I booked with informing me that her charge was £60!!! For the first visit and £45 thereafter. I am going to cancel it, she is obviously too qualified to just cut toe nails.

Daisy, how is that kit car coming along?

Plant, I would cut your nails if I lived closer, what a price!!!

That's terrible Plant. I would shop around. The lady who cut my mum's before she went into the home charged £30.

                                Plant, that does sound expensive!

The kit car is making good progress - but there is still a lot to do. Some parts aren't available anymore so alternatives have to be sourced or made, but OH is very good at finding people who will make one-off items and they all seem to enjoy the story of the car!

I've had a frustrating day where I haven't managed to finish any of the jobs I started (apart from booking the hotel in Brum). Off to start cooking dinner now!
