    Good morning one and all.

Daisy, well done getting ahead in preparing today's meal. It really is far too hot for cooking. You're right, in these conditions we do have to adapt our routines.

Great news about the baby Nan2 There seem to be a lot of panicked parents these days with diagnosed conditions which are not there once baby arrives. Wonderful that all is well, but a shame they and you had that worry. Everyone can relax now at least!

Have a lovely Finn cuddle Oma!

We are going to see my auntie today. The original plan had been to go out for a Sunday roast. Once I saw the forecast I phoned her during the week and said we would put the lunch out on hold and just visit today. She suggested we have lunch in the restaurant where she lives, so we reached that compromise. It's not gourmet food, and the portions are small, but it's fine. The main thing is it's nice for auntie have someone to share a meal with.

    Happy Sunday everyone.

Daisy, that sounds like an ideal day in this heat.

Gemini, I am sure Auntie will enjoy your visit and having lunch with her

Oma, I hope your doctor can find a solution to your hair and thrush problem. Thrush in the mouth sounds very unpleasant. What colour is B spraying your dressing table? Have a lovely cuddle with Finlay.

Nanto, That was good news about the baby, all is well now I hope and they can stop worrying.

Good Morning ladies! I am still here, just haven't been posting but have been reading all you news.

House is getting there. Carpets now down in lounge, my bedroom and stairs and landings, so lots of upheaval. Fitted wardrobes and painter due in October, planning to et large shrubs removed from garden and open up the borders. Attic boarded and ladder fitted, electrician sorted out my problems ( fingers crossed), water meter fitted, plumber coming back to service boiler and get rid of Hive system,(sorry Clover) he reckons they're good if you're working away or out of the house all day, but not if you're like me, at home where I can control things manually. Jobs are gradually being ticked off. Next week, BHF are coming to take away some old furniture, hopefully, and I'm speaking to someone about solar panels.

Doggo is here at the moment while the family are in the States! He manages to find the coolest places in the house during this heatwave! Walks early morning and in the evening when it's cooler, but they're much shorter now he's an old boy!

DS will be back for a couple of weeks next month which will be lovely! I've also got my holiday to Italy to look forward to.

Finally got all the paperwork to finalise OH's 'Estate'! Goodness knows how long things would have taken without a Will. I am going to make sure things are going to be much easier for my family when I pop my clogs!

Have done all the jobs I intend to do today, apart from fill in the aforesaid forms! I have been glad of my impulse buy of an inflatable hot tub during this spell...not that I've needed to heat it!

Enjoy whatever you're up to ladies. Sending best wishes to those who haven't been feeling great. Take care xx

p.s. CLover, hopefully you'll be on tablet form for Chemo. I'd suggest you contact the Lymphoma Association, if you haven't already done so. We found them very helpful with lots of good information about the different kinds of lymphoma.
Believe you can and you're halfway there.

Oma it certainly must be the thing to be painting my friend when she was here this week repainted my kitchen walls they where magnolia and she painted them white it has made such a difference to the kitchen everything so much brighter.

There is no air at all and its very clammy I have opened all the windows but it has made not a bit of difference Oliver has taken up residence behind the shed its a change from the bathroom sink.

I went off to bed last night and forgot to water my front baskets a thing I always do this morning they looked a wee bit droopy so I gave them a good soaking and put them on the veranda just looked at them and thankfully they have recovered

Off now for a chat with my next door neighbour & treat ourselves to an egg custard & a nice cuppa x

          Bye for now Glamma

Hello everyone. It's another hot and sunny day here - about 30 at the moment.

Nanto - that's such good news about baby T. It was awful you all had that worry hanging over you, and I do think the medical profession seems to stress worst-case scenarios, but we all still worry.

Oma - I hope you are enjoying lots of lovely cuddles with Baby Fin.

Gem - it was sensible not to book a full Sunday roast in this weather, and I'm sure your Auntie will enjoy your company just as much, no matter what or where you eat.

Plant - how are you feeling today? I hope you're taking it easy. Have you still got the glut of plums?

WeeGranny - wow, have you been a busy lady!! You have certainly made things happen and I bet your new house feels like your home. I'm also glad you have got the final paperwork for your OH's will. It certainly is much, much harder without a will, and I don't envy anyone going through the morass of legal mumbo jumbo we had when my cousin passed away. Doggo sounds a very sensible pooch, and I'm sure you will miss him when his family gets back from holiday. How lovely your DS is coming over soon. He will see such a change in the house.

Glamm - isn't it lovely to have a change of colour in the kitchen! What a kind friend you have. It's ages since I had an egg custard - and now you've mentioned it I could polish one off right now.

Had a lovely time seeing Fin,
Lots of cuddles and lots of smiles , he is such a contented baby
sleeps from 10pm till 6am so they getting plenty of sleep with him .
Hes taking bottles well , Clare was a bit disappointed she was unable to breast feed but as she had difficulty sitting straight after his birth it wasn’t possible ,
They tried everything nursing pillows etc it just wasn’t right but he is thriving on bottle milk .
Nothing wrong with his hearing or eyesight either
He watches everything and as soon as you speak he stretches around to see you .

              WG
my goodness another one full of busy ,
Your DS will see a big difference when he comes home 😁

              Glamm
No matter what colour I have painted walls I always go back to white
Oliver has the right idea hide in the shade ,
B loves a custard tart too , Im a bit iffy with the texture , I always get a funny tickle at back of my throat
I don’t eat scrambled eggs for the same reason .

              Plant
He is just re painting it white , it had some scratches on that wouldn’t come off that’s why he sanded and re painted it .
To be honest it wasn’t that bad but he wanted a job to do now everything else is done 😁

Its really hot at the minute no breeze ,

we called into Asda on the way home and we just bought some pre packed sandwiches for lunch ,
Ploughmans for B and Salmon & Cucumber for me ,
A bit disappointed with the taste and Quality but it was something quick and we couldn’t be bothered to do anything else .

WG thanks for your thoughts. I did initially contact the Lymphoma Association but afraid I’ve rather been burying my head in the sand until things started to progress so I’ll have to look them up again. Glad things are coming together with the house etc. It seems never ending at the time doesn’t it? I’ll see how I go with “Hive” for as you say it’s most useful if you’re mostly out all day.

Oma how delightful little Fin sounds. As you know that is my GS’s name though he is just Finn, not Finley.I hope the doctor can help with your current problems.Something hormonal do you think?

Nanto, talking of babies I’m sure you are so relieved nothing wrong was found with your little one’s kidneys

I hope everyone is coping with the heat. It was 30 degrees in my bedroom last night in spite of curtains drawn all day. It faces SE so gets all the afternoon sun.

Clover - I know several people who love their Hives - and a couple of them are home all day.

Oma - little Fin sounds gorgeous, and I'm so glad he's sleeping well and generally being very considerate of his mum and dad. Goodness knows they had enough worries from Clare being poorly right up to having Covid after Fin was born. xx

I had another siesta this afternoon - it's definitely the way to spend this hot weather! I only had to do the rice and make a salad for dinner so it was very easy, and it was great to see my friend. We sat in the garden until nearly 9 pm.

                      Good morning everyone.

We had a nice lunch and visit to my auntie. She loved the sweet peas we took her and commented on their scent every time she walked past them.

Audiology appointment for OH this morning. The new hearing aids she waited years for are no better than the old ones. I keep telling her to get private ones. If she has no improvement this time I think she may take my advice, as it is getting her very frustrated .
I am volunteering at a branch of the library this morning. Helping with a children's craft morning.
I may be going to DD3's later. Waiting to hear from her.

I hope everyone has a good week.

Oma, baby is mostly fed on the left breast, with only the occasional bottle. The right one slightly better with the antibiotics but the improvement is really slow going and DD is still unable to feed him on that side. It's nice here today, a little cooler and not due to rain I don't think. I hope your DD and SIL have a good day

Good idea to get out and back early Plant.

Good morning everyone, actually cloudy at the moment. I have been to the gym but will give the class a miss, far too warm!

Oma, Fin sounds like a very satisfied baby.xx I am never keen on those pre-packed sandwiches, fine if you are really hungry though!

I have been to DS1 on my way to a shop in their village, had a few spots of rain on they way home, more forecast for later on.

I was just talking to a neighbours daughter, she is having such a difficult pregnancy after 9 miscarriages! The poor girl still has 5 weeks to go and is so swollen and can hardly walk, she was saying she has to go to the hospital this afternoon and she hopes they can ease the pain for her.

Gem, if your DD is on antibiotics and breast feeding doesn't that affect the baby? Just a thing I was wondering.

Good Monday morning everyone. It's slightly less warm today, but Eva was still choosing to walk in the shade. I've got washing in. I forgot to take a load of bedding off the line last night, and it wasn't even damp this morning!

Someone at the door - back later. x
