Glamma, how lovely to hear from you and that you are feeling so much better and socialising!
New babies, lovely! I wondered when our next GRU baby would be due.

I only got an appointment to see the Dr when I was ill by my OH going over in person for opening time and speaking to the receptionist (firmly!)

Glamm - I'm so glad you are sounding more like yourself after feeling so poorly, but the sciatica must be painful. Probably going to the surgery to get an appointment is your best bet. It's a terrible situation, isn't it.

How fantastic to be having two new babies so close together. Exciting for all of us grans and great-grans.

Nanto - if you have any more rain, could you send it to us, please?

Gem - how lovely to bump into an old school friend like that. It will be interesting to catch up with the last 50 years together.

Oma - I don't mind the smell of the oil for the worktops, but ours is only in the utility. I might not be so laid back about it in the kitchen!

Plant - I hope the family have enjoyed their holiday. I'd definitely think about going privately if it can help with your psoriasis. I know it can come and go, but you don't seem to be getting any respite from it at the moment, and it must make you feel miserable. xx

The last of our guests left just after 10 this morning, and some neighbours invited us round for a coffee. We sat in their garden for an hour, relaxing and chatting. Neither of us has done much today! I've washed our bedding and that's about it. I'll do salmon for tea I think. Dog training starts tomorrow - it seems ages since we last went.

We had a lovely meal out last night. The pub we went to closed down at one point and now has new owners and we had a very good meal. Ikt's only a couple of miles away, and we'll definitely go again. We were going to sit inside but there was a small child with a huge, loud voice deafening all of us! It really was piercing and I don't think we were the only ones to move outside. The staff were terribly apologetic, but the little boy wasn't being naughty and his parents were being very sensible with him. We didn't mind moving at all, but I hope no-one complained - he looked a little sweetie and was laughing and smiling all the time.

Glamm, when I was visiting DB2 he was telling me his wife had problems with her eyes, he phoned the surgery but never got through, he drove to the surgery with his wife and told them they needed to see a doctor, they told him he had to phone for an appointment, that is when he lost it!!! They did get to see the doctor as he was there in the surgery and he got them in at the eye clinic. You will be looking forward to the GGC!

Gem, you will enjoy catching up with your old school friend.

Oma, the cable isn't up here yet! The poor men were here this morning but there are 2 garages they have to be in and no-one turns up!! I was chatting to one of the men yesterday, he was busy in his garage and told me he would be here this morning at 9am to open the door for them, he wasn't!!! I won't bother to stay home anymore, they will come one day.

I have had my hair cut this morning, the girl lives opposite DS1 so I called there for coffee and to see them before they go away again tomorrow. I got long cuddles from the girls!! GD2 is busy making bracelets etc, they bought a new set whilst in Groningen last week, she is really good at it as well, she certainly has some patience! GD1 was on her way to the gym and asked if I would go with her one day when they get back, so, I will see what it is like where she goes. I had a panic this morning at the gym, I start on the tread mill and my heart rate is usually around the 100, this morning it was well over 200 and I started to panic, I moved to another one and they young instructor came to me and asked what was wrong, I told him and by then I could see that the rate was normal, he had to laugh, he told me if it was above the 200 I would certainly know about it and that there would be something wrong with the gauge!!!! They are all being replaced this month so should be fine.

            Good morning everyone.

Nan2 I hope the appointment goes well for you this morning.

Lizzie, I can imagine your panic when you thought your heart rate was so high!!

Sensible choice for your party to move outside away from noisy toddler Daisy!

Aqua aerobics this morning, and we usually stay for coffee. No other plans today.

Nan2, I hope all goes well today, will be thinking of you.

Daisy, good job it wasn’t raining and you were able to move outside. Some children do not have a control button built in. It must be strange to have the house to yourselves again.

I have started the ball rolling to see a consultant about my psoriasis, it is not straightforward, her appts seem to be handled by another company, why can’t things be simple anymore.

Family had a good time in Normandy, they said it was so easy to get to see things, no queues. They saw the Bayeux Tapastry, I am hoping to see that in October when I go with them.

Lizzie, that must have been a fright for you seeing your heart rate so high.

Glamm, pleased to hear you are feeling better but sorry to hear you have sciatica. Sounds like a good idea to take your shed down to make more room for you to sit out and good that someone else can make use of it. I bet your tapas went down well at the party.

Gemini, I am very envious of your Aqua. One day I hope I can get back into the water.

Good morning everyone. It's a bit cooler here this morning, but due to warm up later. Hopefully today will be the last day the workmen from OpenReach are digging up our cul de sac. We seem to have been living in a cloud of dust for over 12 months, with one thing and another.

Dog training starts again this afternoon, and OH has a funeral to go to at mid-day. I also need to do some jobs in the garden and try to prepare as best I can for the hosepipe ban which starts on Friday.

Lizzie - what a scare. Thank goodness it was the machine at fault.

Plant - I agree. Nothing's simple any more, but I hope you get to see the specialist about your psoriasis very soon.

Gem - enjoy your aqua class. How is baby?

Nanto - I didn't realise your appointment was today. I hope it goes smoothly for you. xx

We went to Aldi and Asda this morning then B connected the hob ,so now the kitchen is functioning again .
I wanted a Birthday card for my Elderly neighbour , his Birthday is on Friday .
The cards were really only for young men or sporty men , nothing for a man in his mid 80s , I will have to look elsewhere tomorrow ,
Why is it difficult to get cards for men .

Good Morning everyone, what a lovely day it is here on Merseyside just a slight breeze which is drying my washing nicely so the job for tomorrow will be ironing I am determined not to let it ever mount up again !!

Today I am being picked up and taken to Liverpool by DD & her partner for shopping in County Road,Daisy will know of it the shops are outstanding so many different types of shops including one off designer shops and my favourite of all Charity shops where you can buy all sorts of bargains yeepee.

Great news this morning as I have been able to get an appointment at my DRs for tomorrow afternoon I was shocked when the receptionist said I could go in for a face to face appt rather than a telephone consult.

I'm still debating as to the new colour on my hair its such a dilemma I may just go ahead and do it and see how it turns out I have settled on a mauve colour rather than pale pink.I go to my hairdresser next week for a trim so will do it after that I think ?

Off now my lift is here when we have been to the shops I am off to DDs for dinner tonight with DGS whose birthday it is tomorrow so we will enjoy the celebrations with him and hopefully have loads of cake xx

                    Talk soon Glamma x

Glamma, hope you have a lovely day.

Back from the hospital. I asked the doctor why i had to see him, when i saw Mr S in june.
He said its because a lot of of patients have been passed to him from Mr S.
Said he wanted to see me now,as things are.He was happy and i don't go back for another year, unless i have any problems.
Tha doctor was a lovely man, and if he ever gets fed up of being a doctor,he could be a stand up comedian.

Glamm, I wish we could see our doctors as soon as that.

Oh that is a relief Nan2! Drs with sense of humour are a blessing

I'm glad you got an appointment Glamma.

It certainly can be hard to find cards for men Oma. I often buy cards with animals on, if the man likes animals.

Baby is fine Daisy. I will update the thread.

Sunny but windy here. I did a washload of towels after my aqua class, as they will dry in no time.

                              Evening all.
We have been to visit friends in Sussex for a couple of days, but home now.
We went to the ‘Prairie Garden’ today, it was fantastic. I can never get plants to grow in such big clumps like they do. I have come home with the promise to myself to make a bigger effort! I certainly came away with a few new ideas.
Plant, glad to read your have set the wheels in motion re. skin probs. It must be quite miserable when it’s uncomfortable.
Still not a drop of rain here, but no ban as yet. We are trying to be careful anyway.
I have a mountain of washing for tomorrow, which means a mountain of ironing but I don’t mind that. Send yours here Glam!
My friend is a fan of ‘earthing’ and has sent me home with an ‘earthing blanket’ for OH to try to cure his aches and pains. This is a new thing to me and sounds a bit whacky but she promises me it does work. Has anyone else tried it? I will report back in a few weeks!
Have a good night’s sleep all.

I don't know anyone who has one so i coulg have read something in the past.
I'n curious now, to see if they work.
