Oma, you were so involved with the boys when they were small, I'm sure you must miss those days. I love it when GS2 and I do things together. If we lived closer to each other, there is a lot I could include you in

GD's period started this morning. What bad luck why could it not have waited until tomorrow? No fun being a girl sometimes She says she doesn't want GS and I to miss out so we are still going swimming. The cafe overlooks the pool so she can read or log into the free wi fi there. Not the same though. We are all going out for lunch afterwards.

Unfortunately periods come when they want, bad timing sometimes.

Like Oma, i'm all done. Fridge cleaned inside and out,all washable floors been washed.
      All downstairs polished and hoovered.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Gemini, I am sure your GD will enjoy seeing you and GS swimming and reading her book. Enjoy your lunch.

I was very late waking this morning and am still not dressed. DD has just been in with baby H, she remembers things she likes to do in my place and does the rounds. DD has now put her down to sleep. GD1, her mother is now working full time, not sure how that is going to work out as her Mil is seriously ill and she loved to have her.

Nanto, I hope you get to see that baby today. Loved the graphic.

Will pop back later when I am showered and dressed.

Good morning everyone, much cooler here and a shower promised anytime.

Oma, I used to do so much with the girls, I realise that with growing up they don't want to go with me to the children's farm etc, but, I miss it, I have got used to it now but the first 2 years I found very difficult! Then I thought, I was lucky to be able to have done so much with them. Luckily I have found my gym to occupy me.

I am so tired after the corona, one day I am fine then the next it hits me, that is today, tomorrow I hope it is over again.

I was at the gym this morning and later this morning there is an "older" group, the eldest lady is 89 years old today and was treating them all to cakes and coffee. I have seen them all doing their thing and think it is fantastic at that age to be able to take part.

Gem, enjoy your swim with GS2, shame about GD not being able to take part but that is part of growing up as well.

I went to the Lidl this morning, I was thinking about what I wanted and the young man from the veg asked if he could ask me something, I told him he could and he asked how I had managed to lose so much weight! He is often waiting to go into the shop at 6-30am as I pass to go to the gym so he sees me going that way. He thought I had had an operation but I told him no and told him what I had done, he needs to lose some weight and said he is going to try harder, he also said as I walked away that he was full of respect for what I had done. Which I thought was very nice of him.

DIL's eldest GC will be a year old on Monday, time certainly does go too quickly.

Good morning, everyone. Nanto, perhaps you could send those helpful ladies on to me after they've been to Gem's. It will be lovely if you can see GD1 and have some baby cuddles as well.

Gem - it's a busy day for you. Enjoy yourselves. Is S in a competition today? Good luck to her if so. What bad luck your GD's period starting today. Sometimes Nature has no sense of timing. I hope it doesn't spoil her day too much.

Oma - I'm sure you're ready for an easy day! When are you taking your MIL freezer shopping? Even though I was so tired I didn't sleep very well last night. It's unusual for me, so I can't grumble.

Plant - I can imagine baby H going round playing with all the things she likes. It's hard working full-time with such a young child. I'm sure it will work out - you're such a lovely, close family.

The usual Friday morning rush was a bit chaotic today - Sainsbury's were later than usual, but when they didn't come earlier I dived into the shower, and then they arrived. I was just getting dressed when the phone rang. I always worry when the phone rings before 9 am, and it was the wife of a friend of OH's to say he'd had a fall and the paramedics were there. OH was going to visit him this morning.

I've got some washing in, and am trying to summon some enthusiasm to do some housework. I often wish I had the 'get up and go' gene like Oma and Nanto.

Lizzie - you posted while I was typing. What a lovely young man - I hope he manages to lose weight as well as you have.

I'm sure babies grow up faster than they used to! But it's lovely to enjoy each stage. I love the ages my GCs are now (19 to 8) because each stage brings a change in our relationships - all good.

It was nice of the young man to say that Daisy. That is so true Daisy, at all ages of the GC we still have lovely relationships with them.xxx

Yes, how nice of him. I need to know your secret although my weight is a bit higher than I like it could come down a stone.

She has decided to wait with the freezer as the problem has stopped ,
we think it just wasn’t turned up high enough in the hot weather
Hope OHs friend is ok poor man
I think you need to get some energy back after all those visitors before you worry about housework ,
B always says it will be there tomorrow worry about it then 😁

Is GD ok about her periods? , Bad luck they had to arrive today but it had to happen and at least it’s in the holidays and not at school ,
She has time to get used to them , what we women have to go through 🙄
Hope you have all had a good day despite Mother Nature doing her worst xx

                        Lizzie
You have worked hard losing weight , I don’t have your will power I’m afraid 😱

I do miss all the activities with the GC , I looked after both GS full time from Babies till they went to school at 4
Gs1 after school till he was 12 , he still comes every Monday from college for tea and he’s almost 18 now ,
Infact he came everyday last week and Monday Tuesday , Wednesday this week 😁

Sadly we couldn’t look after GD when B had Cancer

Its the day outs and taking them to the cinema etc playing games reading all those snuggly times and sleepovers ,
Seem so long ago now 😢

It’s a funny day Bright sunshine then rain and windy then calm , doesn’t know what season it wants to be .
Im not fat just 6ft too small

I'm sure it's lovely to see baby H when she comes in Plant.

This wasn't GD's first period, she started several months ago. They are not that regular yet, so we didn't realise it would start today. I gave her some money and helped her log into the free wi fi. She bought a big chunk of rocky road and was happy in the cafe with her phone.
GS and I enjoyed our swim and splash. We all went to Costa for lunch then to Aldi for ice creams of their choice for the freezer. GS also got a dinosaur and GD cosmetics too 😊

Gemini, that sounds a full day with your GC. It must be slightly difficult to find something for them both to enjoy as there is a big age gap.

Oma, it is lovely when the GC still enjoy your company, I love my GS’s to pop in but I don’t feed them now. I see GD1 a lot of course but it was lovely to see GD2 last weekend. Would you be able to take your GS2 and GD out or would mother not allow that.

GS2 is 14 now and not into days out with us now ,
I don’t think we would be allowed to have GD during holidays ,
DIL being a teacher has them off and always finds something that they are supposed to be doing so we don’t ask now .

GS 1 has just gone , he called in from work then decided to have a shower while he was here and have Tea with us 😁
gone to pick his girlfriend up now .

It’s feeling a little chilly at the minute a bit blowy , might be a more comfortable night

Gem a nice piece of Rocky road and free Wi-Fi makes up for swimming 😁

Oma - OH's friend had a fall just over a week ago and broke 2 ribs. Having another fall today has left him very shaken and he's on strong painkillers. He's quite frail but OH tries to see him every couple of weeks and has taken him for hospital appointments when the friend's wife was unwell. I'm glad the freezer problem has gone away - for now at least.

Plant - I think your GCs love popping in to see you. x

Gem - I know your GD is a little older than our GD1, but it's scary to think how quickly they are growing up. I don't think it will be long before GD1's birthday list will be clothes, cosmetics etc instead of origami paper and Modge Podge!

It's been a bit cooler today, but I've not felt like doing much!
