Hello everyone. I'm sorry I haven't been around much for the last few day - about a week, in fact - but it has been rather busy.
I've read back over the last few days, but it's too much for individual comments as I have only a short time to myself and the internet is as slow as it can be!
We enjoyed the New Forest Show on Wednesday, but felt a bit sad that it was smaller and quieter than pre-pandemic and not so well-organised as usual. Still I'm sure it will get better for next year.
On Friday, another Sister-in-law and her adult DD arrived from North Wales/Chester. It was great to see them. We worked out we hadn't seen the daughter since her parents' 70th birthdays, 12 years ago! They went back home this morning. The SIL's husband (my OH's eldest brother) is very unwell and this was the first time SIL has been away without him, so it was quite emotional for her. OH's sister and BIL's 60 anniversary lunch was yesterday - lovely to see about 20 members of the family and a couple of old friends. Some of them came back to ours for a cup of tea afterwards, so the party carried on. We were all shattered by the end of the day, and nobody got up early this morning.
I've sneaked away for a while - everyone else is watching tv and planning to watch the football later. I have to confess total boredom with the whole thing!
I've surprised myself this week by producing a decent meal each evening and it's been so hot and dry that we've eaten outside a lot.
The downside to the glorious weather is - we start a hosepipe ban from 5th August! Grauntie - I hope you don't suffer the same fate. I don't know how I'm going to stop all the new plants keeling over if I can only use a watering can!
I hope everyone is ok - sending hugs. I'll be back properly in a couple of days. xx
