    Good morning ladies.

Oma, your DD is one day younger than my SIL2 Keep enjoying your holiday!

Nan2, good to catch up with garden jobs when its fine. We were doing that on Saturday.

DD3 and I are going swimming this morning. She wants to get more use out of her maternity swimsuit!
This afternoon I am going see T, ex next door neighbour. From there to collect GS1 from school, then tea and martial arts for him. OH is at golf club committee meeting tonight so I will be home alone.

    Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone. It's poured with rain overnight and today doesn't look very promising either!

Oma - pleased to hear you're enjoying yourselves. Did you wake DD up with your "Happy Birthday" chorus? I hope it stays nice for you.

Gem - a busy day for you. Enjoy your swim with DD3, and I hope T is ok. Is GS1 happy being back at school after half-term?

Nanto - it's surprising how the jobs mount up, isn't it! Our lawn is growing fast with all this rain, but far too wet to cut it.

I've got a date with the hygienist this morning, then I'll come back to collect Eva and take her with me over to DS1's for Knit and Natter with GD1. She's had a fairly good week-end, but still can't walk more than a few yards. She says she feels better in herself though, so we're keeping our fingers crossed that things are improving. OH is out wood turning tonight, but he'll eat before he goes.

Have a good day everyone - and as Gem says do say 'hello' so we know you're ok. xx

Good morning, it is dry here at the moment, I have to go to next village later to see which hearing aids are the best for me. Then a reception later this afternoon at the housing cooperation.

I have done some knitting the last few days, only DK and up to now my fingers are not painful so I will see how it goes.

I forgot to post this! Gem enjoy your busy day and your swim with your DD3!

Daisy, you are a busy bee! As I said it is dry here and quite warm.

Have a lovely holiday Oma, I hope the sun shines.

I envy you your swim Gemini, my psoriasis is getting better so perhaps not too long.

Daisy, I think I told you it was Sting who opened the Jubilee Concert but it was Queen. It is on UTube. I hope your GD1 continues to improve, enjoy your knitting.

It is my GS3’s birthday too today, he will be 23, I am going to see him later with his present.

For Daisy, have you got these Daisy or the "in-ear" ones.

The weather has been lovely today. Did my inside jobs early this morning.

I've cut the grass.Hubby got called away, his brothers car broke down.
Lost count how many times this has happened.
Fortunately i managed to start the mower.
Hubby just doing his tidying up at the back of the garage now.

Lizzie - I've tried behind the ear ones and can't get on with them. They kept falling off and I had to comb and fasten my hair over them to hold them on! Apparently it's the shape of my ears that is the problem - who knew you could have the 'wrong' ears! These are what I've got, and are controlled from my phone (very easy to do!). They are comfortable, in fact I forget all about them. The slight downside (apart from cost - I got a higher spec than the ones shown in the link) is the batteries last about 5 days and are a bit fiddly to change to start with, but I've got used to them. You can also get rechargeable ones if they are too fiddly.

WeeGranny how are you getting on with your new "ears"?

Nanto - it's been chilly here with just odd minutes of sunshine. Still I'm glad you got your lawn cut and OH eventually got to tidy up the garage.

Plant - very happy birthday to your GS3. I hope he's had a great day. Does your psoriasis improve with sunshine?

Oma - what have you been up to today on your holiday?

Gem - did DD3 enjoy her swim?

The hygienists was fine - they are still not using the water jet system though - still on the old-fashioned dig and scrape! Eva and I got to GD1's just before lunch and got a great welcome from her and Cooper - and DS2. We had a lovely time and she was feeling relatively well which was so lovely to see. She sees the paediatrician again tomorrow.

OH decided not to go wood turning this evening - I think the football was an attraction.

Good morning, thanks Daisy, the audiologists say that the in-ear ones will block out too much sound for my problem. The ones I will be trying are re-chargable. I can have them on a 2 month trial and see how they help my "echo" head!

Rain is forecast here for later so I will go to the gym later on today, Our health insurance has a bus once a week in the village so I want to go and get the insurance sorted out for the aids.

Our hygienists still use the "dig and scrape", but, my dentist, he has been out dentist since 1983, he is now 65 years old and has transferred his practise to younger people, they are now busy with one of those modern dental clinics just up the road from me and hope to open in September. My dentist will still work there 3 or 4 days in the week he was telling me. I expect it will all be very modern then.

I hope there is an improvement in GD1 today Daisy.

Where is everyone??? Oma, I hope you are enjoying your few days away.

                        Good morning to all.

No sun here Nan2, it rained heavily most of the night and is very dull now.

GD does sound to be slowly getting there Daisy.

Lizzie, Where is everyone is a good question!!

I hope your GS enjoyed his birthday Plant.

DD3 looked very cute in her swimsuit. A bit like Mr Greedy We didn't do much swimming but to be able to get the weight off her bump and do a little was good, but it made her back ache after a while. Still awaiting a completion date for their house sale.
Back at the pool again this morning for me for aquafit! Then we are calling round to friends this afternoon for a cuppa and OH want to check how their triangular pergola was made as she wants to make one for the bottom corner of our garden.

Good Wednesday morning, everyone. We've had a lot of rain overnight, but the sun's shining just now. We're promised more rain for later though, so I don't think the garden will get any TLC today!

It's dog training this afternoon, and I thought this morning I'd make the first two layers of DS1's birthday cake and freeze them. But I looked at the oven and it's a sorry sight. So I've put the racks into soak and I'll give it a clean - horrible job but needs must! The kitchen generally needs a thorough clean, and the windows inside. All horrible jobs - I need a magic wand or a cleaning fairy.

Nanto - I'll let you know how GD1 gets on at the hospital this morning. She thinks they are doing another blood test, but her mum doesn't think they can do it at the local hospital - she would have to go to Southampton General. Anyway, we'll see what the paediatrician says.

Lizzie - I had to be tested to see if my hearing loss was suited to the in-ear aids, and luckily they work fine for me. Good luck with yours - I do hope they eliminate or at least reduce the echo problem. It seems to be swings and roundabouts when our trusted professionals hand over to the next generation, doesn't it. Our dentist took over this practice about 5 or 6 years ago and he's very good with all the latest technology, but they've gone back to using old hygienist methods since Covid. I'm sure they can't wait to re-use the water jet system as it's quicker and more effective. The person I really miss is our "old" vet. He's only working part-time now and not at our local surgery. It's still a really good practice, but not quite the same as having a familiar, friendly face.

Gem - your posted while I was typing. I'm sure the little swim helped DD3, even though her back was aching. Is she sleeping ok? I do wish they could get the completion date for their house - it must be very unsettling for them. Enjoy your aquafit this afternoon. How lovely to have a pergola in the garden - such a lovely feature. It is a bit quiet on here. I hope everyone is ok.

We hope GD has turned a corner as well, but she's been here before and then gone backwards again. She's got no school work this week, as it's lower school exams, which obviously she's not taking. She's a bit worried about that, but both her dad and I have said it's better to be totally absent than attempt a few papers which wouldn't reflect what she'd expect to do in normal circumstances.

Gem, enjoy the aqua, this is about garden plants! I went to supermarket in the village yesterday morning and they had a huge display of clematis plants, reduced to €2,50. They were huge flowers and the most gorgeous shades of deep pink, I was thinking of getting one but changed my mind, I walked round the supermarket and as I passed the display a young lady bought them all!!!!! She got both the deep pink and the lighter shades. As I walked to my bike she was putting them in a kiddie car, I told her how nice they looked, she told me she was soooooo pleased with them, they had just had a new fencing and were pricing the plants, which were normally expensive for so many, then she went to the supermarket and saw these. I don't think she even bothered to get the shopping she went in for!
