Good Bank Holiday morning. The sun is shining through some clouds, so fingers crossed it stays dry for whatever plans you have this week-end.

Plant - after your very busy few days, I'd leave the chores and relax. But if you must - a bit of pottering in the garden would win over the housework!

Gem - poor DD3, she must be very unsettled not knowing where she will be living when baby arrives. Enjoy your get together tomorrow. How is your knee now? What are you planting in the containers?

Oma - Clare must be so fed up. I hope they don't send her home, apart from anything else having to travel back to the hospital when you're having strong contractions would be awful. Maternity services are so different from our day, aren't they. When I had DS1 my waters broke just a couple of days before my due date, and they sent an ambulance to take me to hospital, on a Sunday evening. It was routine to stay in for 10 days after the birth, and my MIL was scandalised by this because she was in for a full 2 weeks after each of her 5 children! I'm sure the actual medical care is much more advanced now, but the care for the well-being and comfort of the patient seems to have disappeared.

Nanto - it will be nice ot have your hair done for the week-end.

Today seems a bit odd - it's a Bank Holiday, but a lot of things seem to be 'business as usual'.

I'm going to make the most of the weather and do some gardening, but I'll have to catch up with housework sooner or later!

Good morning, Oma, I had never heard of it before the urologist told me about it, he has been my specialist for at least 26 years now, he was a student when I first met him, he is now in charge of the team!

I do hope Clare hasn't to go home.

I have just been to the Makro for a few things, I wanted new bra's, they only had the one in my size so I got it.

It is lovely day so I will have a bike ride later and call and see the friend.

Daisy I agree it doesn't seem like a bank holiday.

Keeping fingers crossed for Clare, Oma.

Too nice for cleaning and ironing Plant.

Lizzie I hope you had a good bike ride.

Well I managed to get a Jubilee helium balloon for mum. It's a good job I got there early as she only had 3. It's keeping cool in my dining room now, going to mum tomorrow.
I delivered about a quarter of the newsletters. Too hot for any more today!

I am going to take my lunch and Kindle into the garden and make the most of the nice weather 🌞
You can guess where OH is. It begins with g and ends in f.

Later I will do some planting. Daisy, we have Nemesia and several bedding plants. OH always does the hanging basket at the front, plus tomatoes etc. I do the majority of the tubs for front and back.

Clare is in labour they may put her on a drip later so fingers crossed , it’s not a long labour ,
I worry because I remember being induced with my DS and it was a very long painful labour , 27 hours and full labour for almost 20 of those hours it was horrendous experience, I do hope they don’t let her go as long and intervene.

Its so different now but I have heard it can still be a long labour when induced even these days .

Oma, my sister had far too long a labour with her first. It shouldn't be allowed to happen.

I got veg etc on my bike ride Gem but didn't get far as it was colder that I had anticipated. DS1 phoned, yet again whilst I was on my bike, he said " well, I can only think you are always out on your bike mum"!

I have an appointment in the hospital for heart etc etc ready for the op, July 13th so I will wait and see how long I have to wait for the op.

I do hope things do not drag on for Claire, Has your Bil calmed down now Oma

I have delivered my GD to the local station, it looked busy, perhaps some passengers are going up to London for the Jubilee. I have watched the fly past and the family on the balcony, the children were so good. I should do some gardening but perhaps I will wait until it is cooler early evening.

Just checking in to see if there was any news about Clare. Hope it isn't too long a labour. Both of ours were born at home, so I have no personal experience of a hospital birth. First time I was only in labour two and a half hours. Second time I was just over 5 hours.

Nanto - that's amazing, two relatively short home births, although I don't suppose 5 hours seemed 'short' at the time. I can remember thinking the second time that it was nowhere near as hard as the first, but sternly told myself to remember it still wasn't a walk in the park!!

Oma - Thinking of Clare. I hope things are progressing. I think using a drip speeds things up - but I'm sure procedures have changed a lot since our day'.

                      Morning Nanto
Martin just rang they gave her a epidural at 1 am to give her some rest she’s now 8 cm so fingers crossed sometime this morning .
Just had MIL on phone worried it’s taking so long . She wanted to ring Martin but I persuaded her not too I said he couldn’t take calls because yesterday she was talking about women and baby dying she had been watching a programme about it ,
Well that’s the last thing Martin wants to hear isn’t it 🙄

Does it feel strange getting Fish and chips now in-laws are not with you , it was a favourite on a Friday wasn’t it .

We doing Bangers and Mash can’t remember last time we had that 😁

Off to Sainsburys and Aldi this morning then down to Garden centre to get DD a voucher it’s her 49th Birthday on Tuesday and that’s what she’s asked for as she loves her garden .

Its a bit dull and windy but not cold ,
Hope everyone is ok today xxx

                        I think its cold here.

Hope Clare manged a bit of rest.
Pleased you managed to dissuade MIL from ringing Martin.

We don't have fish and chips as often now. I think we had too many, and got a bit fed up with them.

                          Good morning everyone.

Oma, if Clare is 8cm then surely baby will arrive today? We are all waiting for the happy news.
Nan2, we love fish and chips, but only have them once a month or less. As you say, they are less of a treat when you have them all the time.

This afternoon we are going to see my mum and join in the Jubilee cerebration there. There is a garden party at the home, but I have asked for a wheelchair so we can take her out to see everything going on in the village. DD2 will be on a stall, and the other DDs will be coming over, so she will get to see the family.
DD and SIL2 have invited us over for a family barbecue afterwards. It would be too much for mum so we will take her back first.
OH and I will be picking DD3 up as they have a flat tyre.

                          Happy Jubilee Day everyone!

Did quite a bit of gardening yesterday, cleared the small ironing pile and watched the trooping of the colour and the flypast on television. I dropped GD off at local station at 11am and popped into Waitrose, very quiet in there but was told it was very hectic earlier. It was quite busy at the station, I suppose some people were on their way to London for the celebrations. Lots going on tomorrow on the front common, I would love to go but don’t think I could stand for long.

Oma, I am pleased to hear the news about Clare, I do hope it will not be too long for her and the baby. Good job you managed to persuade your MIL not to phone Martin, just what he needed at this time.

Gemini, that sounds like a lovely family day. I hope your mother will enjoy the celebrations.

Good Jubilee morning everyone. The sun is shining here, but rain is forecast later!

It was an early start for us - Sainsbury's delivery at dawn (8 o'clock!), and I've cleaned our fridge out and organised the "alternative" street party for Sunday for our cul de sac. The main street party is daunting - so many instructions on what you can and can't do - but we didn't want to clash with it, so we're starting about 3 o'clock when that is winding down. I wish I'd got bunting, etc now, but it's not essential.

Plant - you had a very productive day, yesterday, and I'm sure there are a lot of people heading for London. Have you thought about getting one of those portable seats that Gem had for Florida? You could sit down whenever you wanted to then, and I think Gem said it was stable and quite comfortable.

Gem, I love your festive Avatar. I hope you all enjoy today, including your Mum, and the weather stays dry. It all sounds good fun - apart from DD3's flat tyre.

Nanto - I can't imagine getting fed up with fish and chips, but I suppose I would if I had them too often. OH isn't keen, so it really is a rare treat. Did your OH get the gate finished at the bungalow?

Oma - poor Clare, I bet she's exhausted. You can never predict how giving birth will go, can you. I'm glad they were still able to give her an epidural though. Any news yet?
