    Good morning ladies,

Nan2 and Oma, your weather sounds better than ours!
Breezy very cloudy and seems chilly here.
Another golf competition for OH today, in Harrogate this time.
I am going to see my sister this morning, and will call into a couple of shops on my way back.

      Good morning everyone.

It's damp and dull, but quite warm. Perfect growing weather for the lawn, and the weeds, but too wet to garden. Perhaps later! I've got a load of washing in - I hope the rain holds off until it's dry.

Nanto - I just fancy that cup of coffee! I do love reading your daily menus, and it makes me try and think about our meal. I was expecting OH home for dinner last night, but by the time he and DS1 had finished the jobs they were doing it was dinner time, so he ate there. I'd cooked beef mince ready to make into something or other, so we can have that today - probably cottage pie as there are potatoes that need using up.

Oma - that timescale is epic! No wonder you tire yourself out. Slow down a bit and give yourself some little rests in between jobs.

Gem - I hope the weather improves for OH's golf competition. How is she doing this season? Is your sister better now?

I want (well, feel I ought to) defrost the dog's fridge/freezer. It seems to ice up very quickly and if I tidy it up I can move some dog food into there so I can defrost and clean the chest freezer. With DS1's 50th birthday just a month away I need to start getting party food organised.

Good morning, Oma, I was even tired reading that!!!

Gem, I hope your sister is better now, is it a long drive?

Nanto, do you plan your meals beforehand? You must do.

Daisy, I hope the weather improves for you to get your gardening done, it is sunny here now, not as much wind as yesterday.

It is a bank holiday, it surprised me to see the supermarkets open.

Both GD's came yesterday on their bikes and we enjoyed the meal and the games afterwards. I enjoyed having them both!!!

Oma, slow down, you don’t have to do everything before 9am. I am still sitting here in my pyjamas having my breakfast. I haven’t got a dog to walk.

Gemini, I hope you find your sister well and I hope the weather improves for the Golf for S.

I have a hospital appt for an echocardiogram this morning, I hope I pass. Bowls this afternoon if it stays fine.

Lizzie, it's Tadcaster, so about half an hour drive. Quicker these days as I always picked up mum first making it a longer journey.

Good Morning everyone the week's are certainly passing quickly another day of visits from DGD and DS1 so feeding the birds and squirrels are on the agenda this morning she goes straight into the garden to collect the food for her little jobs.

I spent a lovely day in Liverpool with DD & DGD we went for some last minute bits & bobs for our holiday and just by the way had to go into M&S food hall for some treats as you do.
Also bought 2 x t-shirts which where not available on line but they had plenty in store DD and I bought the same t-shirt and I said if we both wore them at same time we would look like book-ends There was nothing interesting in Next all the new stock was dark colours and quite uninteresting to be honest.

How do I start a new topic in YEO I have some sad news to post and really need some good advice as I've got no one else to discuss with and really need a bit of help with.

The weather here is so dull today drizzly rain so no washing on the line today looks like it will be ironing only and finish what is in the basket.

Enjoy the rest of the day xxx glamma xx

I visited my sister, who seems well and took her some chocolates which she will hopefully enjoy later. On the way back I went to Farmfoods for Carte D'or ice cream. I got some mint choc chip and strawberry, but sadly there was none of our favourite vanilla.
After lunch I am going to walk to the village for couple of birthday cards.
Sunny and windy here at the moment

We had a few spots of rain this morning. Fortunately i'd got the bedding dried.
Been breezy all day,but the sun is shining now.

Gem,glad your sister is back to normal. How old is she?

Funny old day here, cloudy with threats of rain and the wind was quite chilly.

I went and had my chin dehaired and had a manicure as well. I really should have my nails done more often, it's worth it for the massage alone! Talking of which, I'm having a holistic massage on Saturday. Feeling not quite right at the moment, so maybe that'll perk me up. Think the past is probably beginning to catch up on me. I don't seem to have stopped for ages.

Lovely news from DD earlier. He's coming back sometime in the Summer which will be lovely. Seems a long time since I've seen him.

Hope it all went well at the hospital Plant. I must say I'm impressed with my new surgery. I've got a face to face next month and today I had a message to book an appointment for a pneumonia vaccination, got that next Tuesday!

Have a good evening ladies xx

WeeGranny - in the last few months you've coped with three of life's most challenging and stressful events with the sad loss of your OH, moving house and having an accident. No wonder you feel 'not quite right'. I'm sure the holistic massage will be bliss and set you up again. Plus looking forward to DS coming home in the summer which will help as well. Is he moving back to the UK, or coming back because of his job or for a holiday? It's one worry less when your GP surgery is helpful like that.

Nanto - my washing dried as well. It's now all waiting for attention from the hot hissy thing!

Glamm - you are getting very organised for your holiday, but not long to wait now. I usually like Next but who wants dark dreary clothes for the summer! Enjoy the M&S food hall goodies. I'm sorry there's some sad news. If you have trouble starting the thread in YEO let us know and I'll start one for you under a general sort of title (in YEO).

Oma - you certainly wizzed round this morning. I hope the rest of the day was more relaxing. Storm knows how to chill out!

Gem - does your sister have a sweet tooth? The ice cream sounds lovely. I hope you've got plenty of strawberries to put it on.

Plant - how did you day go - was the weather ok for bowls?

Lizzie - are you using the same pattern for the second denim skirt?

Just after I'd posted on here this morning my friend M rang, asking if I'd be in this morning and could she pop round for a coffee. Well what would everyone else say, "sorry, I'm defrosting the freezer" or "yes, great, I'll get the coffee on and see you soon". Full marks if you guessed "yes/coffee"!! So we had a lovely morning catching up on everything. It wasn't quite warm enough to sit outside though. OH was in the shed wood turning. Our next door neighbour was using the other lathe so they had a good social morning as well.

After lunch I sat down for five minutes - and fell sound asleep. But we got a couple of hours in on the garden and I've managed to cut the lawn a bit shorter this time. We moved the bird feeder, hoping to make it harder for the squirrel who keeps dropping the feeders onto the ground. We failed. Less than 5 minutes later it was back and leaping from the fence to the feeder, no problem! We treated ourselves to a glass of wine out in the sunshine which had finally appeared. I put dinner in the oven - just to reheat and went to spend some time with Missy next door (the Sprocker) as her family were out. She gave me a great welcome - and Eva's face when I got back was a picture. Normally we'd have Missy here, but she's still recovering from an operation on her leg and isn't allowed to play yet.

Sun is shining, but by heck its a very cold wind.

A few jobs to do,ironing being one of them.

GD1 said she might pop in, after she has been for her scan.

WG, i'm not surprised you aren't feeling right. You've had a very unsettling few months.
                              Hope the massage helps you.

Daisy, you must have needed that sleep.

Chips, egg and beans for dinner. I know we had it last week, but hubby won't complain.

                              Have a good day ladies.
