Good afternoon everyone, the time has just run away with itself today I have been up since just before 7am and pottered about not really doing anything productive at all.
Washed my hair and left it to dry in the towel it now looks like a burst mattress so I need to use hair straightener before I go out later,I am off to Specsavers for eye test nothing to do with the overall eye problem just a yearly check with my left eye being much improved it will probably be a new prescription so a change in specs I feel, with the cost of frames to go with it so possibly painful on the wallet if the strength has improved I will need new prescription sunglasses as well as

Lizzie48 I go away on 20th June for 7 days I have everything I need now all washed and ready to pack most of my stuff has been in my holiday case for nearly 3 yrs I was surprised that everything still fitted me with the exception of one swimsuit (bit tight around the bustline)

Off now to get dressed will catch up soon xxx glamma xx

I have been to the doctor, yes WG, we are lucky that we get to see the doctor, it isn't anything to worry about, it started after I had put my case in the car last week and probably twisted/knocked my bottom rib! It did feel like a bruised rib but lower, until the doctor touched it!

I managed to get wet in the first shower of the day!

GD2 has a black box on her car as well.

Glamma, hope all goes well at Specsavers.

Lizzie, hope your appointment goes well also.

Gem,hope you have a good visit with your mum.

We went to Farmfoods this morning to take advantage of the offer on Carte D'ior ice cream.
I bought 3 tubs. One of the flavours was chocolate brownie, which we haven't had before.
Also got some ice cream lollies, and chocolate. Got 2 bars of the Ferrero Rocher chocolate. 2 for ยฃ3.

Hello, everyone. I totally missed out on having a chat this morning. I don't really know where the time went, but a few phone calls and messages and an hour can slip by very quickly! In between I've been trying to get some more gardening done, then rain started about an hour ago. We had loads of stuff to pack away, and I needed to finish one pot I was planting up. Got soaked!

It's stopped raining now so I need to take Eva for a walk before her dinner. I'll pop back later.

Glorious sunshine but the breeze is a bit chilly. I think some showers are forecast.
            Hope you've dried out Daisy.

I want to clean, rearrange and tidy the cupboards under the kitchen sink.

Breaded haddock, new potatoes, green beans, carrots and parsley sauce on the menu today.

Good morning, Nanto and all who follow.

We've got sun at the moment, but rain expected later. Nanto - I dried out after getting wet in the garden, then took Eva for a walk in glorious sunshine and as I got to the point of no return on the circular walk the heavens opened, and I got soaked again. So did Eva, but she wasn't bothered!

Dinner sounds wonderful - my favourite sort of meal.

I'm off to knit and natter with GD1 today. I take Eva with me so she and Cooper get time to play. I've put some washing on - how it mounts up! And need to run the sucky up thingy round before I go. We got some stuff out of the loft on Sunday and bits and dust seem to go everywhere.

Lizzie - glad it was nothing serious, although it sounds painful.

WeeGranny - it must make things easier now you're back on the road. Your shopping expedition was certainly successful - nice things to shop for rather than boring essentials. Your DD must be so pleased to have you close by. Your GS enjoys his sports, doesn't he. Is he a bowler or a batsman?

Glamm - good luck at the opticians. I hope your pocket isn't hit too hard, but it's worth it if it means your eye is improving.

                Good morning ladies.
Very sunny here, but it looks windy and probably chilly! Sunshine and showers forecast here today.

I think it may be fish on our menu today too Nan2.

WG, I'm so glad that you are nearer family now after the very sad time you have had. You are certainly being very proactive in fitting into your new home

Lizzie, I hope your mind was put at rest by the Dr, and that the pain eases off!

It is so exciting in the run up to holidays after all this time Glamma

                Unpacking will always wait Plant!

Ooh not long for Clare, Oma. DD3 doing well, aside from the worry of when they will actually move house!

Daisy enjoy GD/GM knit and natter!

It was a lovely visit to my mum yesterday afternoon.
Library for me this morning and this is the last time I will work in the library until the new all-singing-all-dancing one opens in the autumn. We close on Saturday. I will be going in next week to help pack and label books, and may do the odd volunteer session at another branch over the summer, but basically will have the summer off as it were.
GS1 and marital arts class later.

                Have a good day everyone.

Good morning, showery here, a very heavy one as I cycled home from the gym.

Daisy, yes I was pleased it was the (lower) rib and pleased she got to listen to my lungs as well after the flu I had.

I am expecting a call from the internet provider, I can record on the TV box but I can't get to watch them at the moment, I had a young boy on the help desk yesterday, he just read what I had already done from the site so he is getting a technician to call me today, I told him I have to go for an appointment at 3-30 so I hope he phones before then.

WG you seem to have soon settled in your new home.xx

Daisy, enjoy the knitting withGD. I got a message from GD2 the other day, could she eat here one day then play a few games before going home! I told her she could and it is planned for tomorrow. DIL was telling me both of them are planning on doing it on a regular basis, it depends on their homework etc. GD2 had a paper round, she did it with a friend, it was a lot of work for next to nothing, a neighbour called at the house one day and asked if GD2 would like to baby sit for them, she went a few times to get to know the children and she went last week and it went really well, they are only 2 doors from DIL so if she is needed she can soon be there. I think she helps in the canteen at the tennis club on a Sunday as well.

Lizzie, pleased to hear your injury isnโ€™t serious, you are lucky to be able to see a medic so quickly.

Nanto, I love a fish dinner, I have a M&S Tuna pasta bake with asparagus, I know how to live.

Holiday getting closer Glamm, exciting getting packed ready.

Glamm, I hope you find some nice glasses and that they are not too pricy. Holiday getting close.

Now Gemini, donโ€™t go lifting those boxes, Exciting time having a new library after all this time. Pleased your visit to your mum went well.

Enjoy your knit and natter with your GD1 Daisy, I am sure the dogs will enjoy playing. Perhaps you should try crochet next.

We havenโ€™t heard from Clover recently, I hope she is okay.
DD asnd Sil have bought shares in a large house in Normandy and they have invited me to go there in October. They are hoping GD1, her OH and baby H will be able to go too. Looking forward to it, I would love to see the Bayeux Tapestry . I am going to be masking blinis today for DS and Dilโ€™s Anniversary party on Sat, I shall make them in batches over the next few days and freeze them, canโ€™t manage about 50 in one go. Sun just trying to pop out, I must get the day started. Have a good one ladies.

Was quite busy yesterday afternoon , B finished emulsion On kitchen walls so I cleaned the patio window frames and windows while the blinds were down , that ended up with me doing all the frames and windows inside upstairs and down ,
Not a job I intended doing but one led to another and I had some energy yesterday so got on with it while I could ,

Then I cleaned the bedrooms and bathroom , not a big job to be honest as they were clean already so just a quick flick around .D & J kept Storm overnight they said he settled fine so not bringing him back till tomorrow,

I was right about the sunshine and showers! It rained slightly as I left the library, then we had heavy shower a while ago and it was very dark. I hope OH was in the Clubhouse not on the course!
Sunny now so hopefully I will stay dry on school run.
No martial arts today as DD has booked GS into the Thursday classes for the next two weeks. I think it will be nice for him to have his mum or dad take him. as they haven't seen him at the class for months.

It sounds as though you are getting your energy back Oma. Try not to overdo it though!

Plant, that will be a lovely break for you in October.

Lizzie, I'm sure your GDs will always want to visit you.

I have just got in, nothing to see on the scan, what I have is a Patent tube problem.

The doctor said he can operate but it isn't always succesful, so, I have an appointment for hearing aids, he said it will be difficult at first with the tubes being open and he can't be sure if it will work.

I have waited all day for someone to phone about the TV box, nothing!!!!!!!

I do have tidy kitchen cupboards though.

That was a busy day for you Oma. Its lovely to get those jobs done though.

Lizzie, hope the hearing aids work for you.

Its been quite sunny today, apart from a very heavy shower about 11.30 this morning.

Sorry to keep harping on about this, but we have done quite a bit of socialising today.
Hubby's sister and her hubby came this afternoon and stayed for about 3ยฝ hours.
Just after they left, brother in law from the bungalow came for an hour.
We never used to visit at each others homes much. If we saw anyone it used to be at mam and dads.
Never really had time to talk much. I must say we are loving having the time to do it.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Nanto - I know you were both sad to lose your in laws, but I really am pleased for you and your OH that you now have time to enjoy socialising, seeing more of the rest of your family and getting out and about. It's your turn, your time. x

Lizzie - I do hope the doctor can make hearing aids work for you. I'm really pleased with mine. The batteries are so tiny but it's just a bit of a knack to change them. I've got 2 friends who have also got in-ear ones, but they are rechargeable ones. Mine are controlled by my phone which is amazing.Did anyone phone about your TV box?

Gem - did OH escape the rain and stay dry? We had a beautiful funny day at DS1's, but 8 miles away at home there were torrential showers! How is you knee? I'm sure your GS1 loves having Grandma watch his martial arts class, but also lovely to have mum or dad there sometimes.

Oma - you're making me feel tired again. Don't overdo the cleaning and make yourself ill again. xx

GD1 was quite bouncy today, but had been really poorly yesterday. We both enjoyed our knit and natter and I stayed a bit later to see GD2 when she got home from school. I have to say we did more nattering than knitting, but that's ok - we both enjoy it. I finished the little knitted heart and GD has almost finished her scrunchie. I've started a scrunchie as well so they can have one each. (That's the theory, anyway.) OH spent all morning on the garden - weeding, cutting back a neighbour's overhanging trees and sieving compost from the compost bin. I have to say, we've never had such good home-made compost as I've never got the patience to sieve the lumps out!!

Plant - how lovely having a trip to Normandy planned. Is it an old house your DD and SIL have a share in? It would be interesting to see the Bayeux Tapestry. Has it ever been on display in the UK, or a replica of it? I'm sure I remember something about it, and a programme on tv about how it's maintained.

I'm ready for bed tonight. OH woke at 5 am with cramp in his leg, and woke me, too. He went back to sleep but I was wide awake by then, and it was light so I was up about 6 o'clock, which is far too early for me!

Good morning, Nanto, you will be catching up on the socialising after caring for the in laws!

Daisy, the lady mentioned the in ear ones that are re-chargable and can be adjusted etc through the phone, they will have to see if they are suitable for my ears though.

Oma, your house must sparkle! Thinking of the advert years ago but can't remember the name, some cleansing product from years ago. I am thinking, was it 1001???

I finally got to speak to someone at the provider that knew what they were talking about, the boy from Monday evening hadn't even booked a call so naturally no-one called me, the problem is with their software and they hope to have a solution this week.

I want to do some shopping this morning and maybe get a bike ride in, GD2 here for a meal so I will go and get the strawberries. We both love those. She will come on her bike, I may go part of the way with her when she goes home as there is a tunnel and I am never keen on them in an evening.

Daisy, you will both enjoy the knitting and the natter!

I will go and get myself ready for the gym.

I have just read about the dreadful shooting in Texas! Those poor parents.
