Oma - sorry I didn't see you 'overnight' post. Unbelievable how some people live and how do they expect anyone to be willing to work round dirty nappies etc. The chap who did our new bannisters said it's often younger and usually richer people who don't prepare for workmen. Odd isn't it!

I wasn't sure if I would like your panelling or not - but I think it looks fabulous - modern but classical. I wouldn't have panelling - too much dusting for Lazy-Daisy!! But it's transformed your hall and stairs. That mirror's beautiful - you've got such a good eye for the finishing touches.

Did Storm enjoy his fishy dinner?

Nanto - that lovely feeling of having plenty of meals in the freezer! I have plenty as well, but they're all clearly labelled "Pet Food Only"!

Gem - how is DD3? What colour did you have your nails?

Plant - what did you make for the Jubilee party? Yes, Lymington is lovely - we live about 5 miles away - but sadly there are a lot of empty shops at present, and those very old buildings soon look derelict if they stand empty for too long. It doesn't seem to be affecting house prices in the town though - I noticed one in an estate agent's window, nearly £800,000 for a nice, but very modest modern house in an area just outside the town. This morning it was freezing. There was a very cold wind blowing off the Solent, right up the high street. I was surprised how many people, mostly men, were in t-shirts and shorts! Brrr .....

I know I said we wanted rain, and today we've had it. Enough to be cold and miserable but not enough to give the garden a really good soaking. Still, better than nothing.

Eva made everyone laugh at dog training today. We were doing some exercises with the humans sitting on a chair and the dogs following instructions. So we all went to get a chair. I put mine down and Eva immediately jumped on it and sat down. I think she expected to be training me!!

OH is on his way back from DS1's having had a very useful day. A safety guard had broken on his Triton work bench and he's been unable to get a replacement for it, so DS1, who has a 3D printer, designed one in CAD and printed it out for him. DS1 also sorted out some things on OH's laptop and set up his photos in Google Drive. OH is very taken with 3D printers!!

Plant - sorry, I've just seen what you made this morning. sounds lovely and very festive. The little ones are so entertaining, aren't they. I can just imagine Baby H spotting her chance to try a coveted toy, bless her.

        Sun is shining.

Plenty to do today. Hubby picked a load of rhubarb yesterday, from our own garden.
So, need to do some pies and crumbles. They will go in the freezer.

Daisy,at least we know Eva won't go hungry.

Good Thursday morning, Nanto and all who follow later. The sun's shining here as well. Rhubarb crumble - yummy.

Last night OH's car broke down on the way back from DS1's. It seems to be just warning lights coming on randomly, and he needed his car this morning to take a friend to hospital. He's just phoned to say he's got to the friend's house ok. They are then going in another friend's car because he's got a wheelchair hoist. The sick friend's wife is ill so OH is going to take him in to the hospital, and the friend with the wheelchair access car will bring them back! He couldn't find his driving glasses this morning, but luckily has a spare pair. What else could possibly go wrong!

No idea what I will be doing today. I don't think there's much point in trying to plan!

            Morning Nanto / ladies

Daisy I laughed out loud at Eva’s antics 😂😂😂
Yes Storm loved his dinner , I usually give him raw fish but thought a change would go down well and I was right , he did a little happy dance as he was eating it , sort of a trot 😁

I must admit before we did the panelling I didn’t give dusting a thought , but I have a good long handled Flash duster so it will be used on them 🙄

B not long sold his 3D printer although good it hardly got used another toy he bought and didn’t play with .

Nanto homegrown rhubarb has a better taste than shop bought doesn’t it ,
We had a huge one but when we moved my SIL potted a big chunk of it up to have in their garden , at the time he wasn’t a great gardener didn’t take care of it till it recovered from being uprooted and it didn’t do to good .

Last year B made a lot of Rhubarb jam , my friend ate loads of it every time she came she went away with a couple of jars .

Off to MILs this morning with her food
Beef stew and dumplings with veg , Honey & Mustard Chicken with Broccoli and roasties , Apple & Blackberries crumble plus chocolate muffins ,
His Sister took a roast dinner with Carrot cake on Monday

His other sister does pies for her at the weekend , so she’s getting fed .

            will pop back later

Happy Birthday to Gems S xx

Nan2, maybe we should inspect our rhubarb if yours is ready!
Daisy, Eva obviously considers that she knows enough to train you now

Oma, lucky MIL! Thanks for OH's birthday wishes, and her card.

DD3 was fine thanks Daisy. She stayed for quick sandwich and chat with us before going back to work. They are frustrated at still no moving date though!
              My nails are sparkly blue!

We had planned a day out for OH's birthday today, maybe the coast. The forecast isn't brilliant and as she has been playing a lot of golf this week she wants a day at home! We will go out for a meal tonight though. Each to their own, I would want to go out if it was me! DD2 is popping round this morning with a present.

              Have a good day everyone.

Gosh Oma, your Mil does eat well. Lots of lovely treats. I don’t understand 3D Printers, can it produce a handsome carer for me?

I intend to play outdoor bowls this afternoon, weather permitting, it rained most of the day yesterday but I doubt it was enough to really soak the borders. We don’t seem to be able to grow rhubarb in this garden, OH tried and I have too but it just produces skinny little sticks. I am trying to do my packing for next week but not doing very well.

Daisy, the warning lights on modern cars are very helpful but worrying if you are on a journey. Sorry to hear Lymington is suffering, like most towns, with empty shops.

Gemini, Happy Birthday to S from me.
What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Oma - looking at your MIL's menu I have a question for you. Please can I be your MIL as well? I can't imagine you not thinking about dusting, Oma, but your Flash thingy sounds useful. Oooh, I love rhubarb jam.

Gem - so pleased to hear DD3 is well, but she must be getting anxious to move sooner rather than later. Enjoy your meal out tonight. Perhaps S would feel differently about a day out if the weather was better, but after so much fresh air on the golf course this week a relaxing day in is probably just the job.

Plant - I've never had any success with rhubarb - either in the garden or on the allotment, and OH isn't keen. Packing for holidays in this country is always a lottery. Layers and a bit of everything, I suppose. I think many old Georgian and pre-Georgian towns have the same problems with building that don't meet current H&S and accessibility regulations. I'm sure Chester is the same.

Plant - 3D printers are getter better all the time, so you never know! Oma - DS1 is on his second one. It's much better, quicker and more versatile than the first one. The part he made for OH's Triton work bench was brilliant, but one bit was just slightly too wide. OH is going to see if he can sand it down to fit, if not, P will adjust it and print another! I've no idea what model or how much DS1's was but it looks a bit like this:

(I probably should add that copying parts of patented items is illegal. OH has tried to get the part he needed both here and in Australia and they don't do them! So given your request, I think you will have to design your own unique handsome carer to print. )

Yes Daisy that looks identical to what B had , when he first bought it we got lots of weird and wonderful things then he got bored with it and it was just collecting dust 🙄
You wouldn’t want to be my MIL Daisy she’s a pain , although she was on good form this morning only a few moans about stuff but soon cheered up .

Plant as Daisy said it’s difficult packing for this country , we could have summer in the morning autumn in the afternoon and winter at night 😁

Gem hope the Birthday Girl enjoys her meal out , shame she doesn’t want a day out but you could always go another day ,
Hope DD gets moved before baby arrives ,

Lizzie how are you today xx

Hallo everyone, I am fine thanks Oma, getting ready for my few days away! My neighbour has just been and we had a chat on the balcony, she does my plants whilst I am away.

I went to visit my friend in the home this morning, they were all having an exercise class, oh dear, to see so many sat there like that depresses me!

I got some strawberries along the way and dropped them off at DIL's.

A friend of my son has a 3D printer, DS2 was telling me all that he can do with it.

About growing rhubarb, I thought it grew anywhere, apparently not. You must have one huge freezer Nanto!

Gem, I hope that you both enjoy the meal this evening. When does DD3 hope to get moved?

I am sorting blouses out, most hang like a sack on me, some I can alter, others not, I was at the dietician the other day and I can gradually add more to my meals. The B&B will be a good start!

Good morning. I did intend coming on here last night, but w ehad visitors.

Daisy, sorry to hear OH's car broke down.

Lizzie, enjoy your few days away.
I have a chest freezer in the outhouse, and the fridge freezer in the kitchen.
Can get quite a lot in both of them.
Our rhubarb doesn't take any looking after. We just leave it to do its own thing.

Gem, hope OH had a lovely birthday.

Good morning, I am almost ready to go, I won't leave until after lunch, I will get my bike fixed on the carrier then call in my garage for them to check it as it is the first time I have done it with this one.

It is a lovely morning, windy though, I hope the wind drops, then again, that is was an E bike is for!

                              Good morning ladies

Lizzie, have a lovely break! DD3 hopes to move asap! The original date given was two weeks ago. Some hold up now with the owners of the house they are buying.

Nan2, ditto with our rhubarb, it just grows. We are in Yorkshire aren't we, known for it's rhubarb

No GD today as she is invited a to friend's house after school. As its only GS2 to collect I am going to call in on my mum first rather than go on Sunday as planned. One lot of petrol then!
its a fine day today but breezy.
We enjoyed our meal last night and OH said she had a very good birthday

Nanto, you need all that freezer space with all the cooking you do.

Lizzie, I must have missed where you are going on holiday, I thought you were coming to the UK.

Gemini, I do hope the move for yours DD3 and he OH comes soon. Pleased your OH had a nice birthday. As your mother doesn’t know what day it is, it is a good idea to save petrol.

I have to go to the bank first this morning and then onto Waitrose, I have two vouchers to use. Trying to make sure I have everything needed to pop in my case later, have to be off at 8.30 tomorrow to meet the coach.
