They obviously need your energy and organising spirit Nan2!!

Quite a nice visit to mum today, with not too much of the negative stuff.
There was a sing-song downstairs but mum didn't want to go of course.
A lady arrived at the same time as me to visit her parents on the same floor as mum. She brought her dog to visit his 'grandparents' 😊

Gemini, pleased your mum was feeling less tearful today.

Just back from bowls, played a good game today.

Gem, glad you had a good visit with your Mum.
Oma, thats the nicest thing i've ever heard you say about MIL.
            I'm pleased she was good.

When we were at the bungalow this morning, one of the neighbours put her washing out.
She put a load of darks on the line and one light coloured towel.
I remarked that the towel didn't look very clean. Everyone started laughing, and said there was only me that would notice it.
But i just said at her age she should know not to put a light towel in with a dark wash.

Nanto MIL was so up beat today it made a lovely change and a pleasure to take her out for a change

I would say exactly the same about the towel , my neighbours hang towels out that have clearly been in with the darks
They have that dull dirty grey tinge to them ,
I always say to B I wouldn't dare put them out if I was them

                  Happy Friday everyone.

Good morning, lovely and sunny here at the moment, rain forecast for tomorrow though.

I have to go for treatment at 10-30 then may have a bike ride. I got my duvet covers and got them altered to fit my duvet.

We get our new covid rules at 7pm, probably restaurants etc to close at 7pm.

Oh dear Lizzie, have you had a lot of Covid cases. Send some sunshine here, it is not a very nice morning, hope it improves.

Oma, I am sure your Mil enjoyed your company and her tea out.

I am having a slow morning, off to Waitrose later, desperately need some veg. Would like to get it at the farm shop but they are in opposite direction.

                        Will pop back later.

Good morning, ladies. It's raining here, which puts our plans for this morning on hold. There's so much tidying up to do and things that need moving round outside but we've both been very busy and today was the day to catch up! But it's raining. Hey ho - everything will wait.

I've really enjoyed reading back over the last few days "drop -in" posts. It's great to picture everyone's day-to-day lives and everyone is so interested in each other. Thank you all. xx

Lizzie, I'm impressed you have already got your duvet covers altered for your bed! I hope your DS1 doesn't overdo things with his shoulder on the mend. I wonder what delights of Covid rules you'll get tonight. The restaurants won't be very happy if they have to close at 7 o'clock.

Oma - what a good time you had with your MIL. Such a pity she can't be like that all the time, I'm sure she would be a lot happier. GD's arm is much better, thank you, although her dad says she's milking it a bit! How is B's cut finger doing? I told J about it and he went quite pale! I can't remember what instrument of torture he was using though.

Gem - well done on the new skills you're gaining at the library. It's amazing what technology will do these days. So pleased your mum was happier than usual. Does she ever go down and join in activities with the other residents? It's nice that they allow relatives to bring a family dog in to visit. I would have love to have trained Eva at a Pets as Therapy dog - she's so friendly and loves people - but they won't allow raw-fed dogs to be PAT dogs these days. It's in case they pass Salmonella on to the residents, despite the fact that there are constant reports of Salmonella in kibble - far more than raw. A lot of people withdrew their dogs when that rule came in - such a shame because they brought so much pleasure.

Nanto - I can understand why you are helping your BIL and SIL so much. How is BIL doing? After all it's not that long since he was in hospital and it takes a time to get over procedures like stents without the stress of moving house.

Even I (who would be the last choice for a Domestic Goddess team) would notice the light towel, Nanto and Oma! It's not hard to work out dark from light colours, unless of course it was an accident. Sometimes some pesky little item hides at the top of the drum and gets a second go-round with the next load. I try and remember to spin the drum round by hand to make sure it's empty - but if you forget anything could be lurking there.
Plant - did you get what you wanted at Dunelm?

Glamm - I'm pleased to hear you're feeling so much better. Did Jim get some of your casserole?

                              Morning all .
Tesco grocery delivery arriving this morning so apart from that not a lot planned.
Yesterday we went to the cemetery to lay flowers on OH's parents graves , our best friend' grave and my mum, gran and sister ( all in one grave) grave. As we only know the rough idea where my baby brother is buried we leave a flower in the huge tree that stands in that area . We then went to the memorial garden where dad is lay to rest and as we got there OH said its 11am so we stood silently next to his memorial plaque. It was then the sun broke through the clouds and a robin stood on a branch of a nearby tree and he sung his little heart out. Added to this leaves falling from the trees it was very moving. I had goose bumps .

it's rain/ sunshine/rain /sunshine here, now do I put the tumble dryer on or peg washing outside ?
Daisy it's socks that hide in my washing machine, honestly the little b*****s have the ability cling to the drum like limpets on rocks

Glamm pleased to hear that you are feeling a little better.
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Daisy he cut his finger on the band saw , He has this gadget that pushes the wood through but his hand slipped forward on it , we are going to buy one of those Chain mail gloves for when he is using it now ,
To top it all just before we went to his Mams yesterday, he was putting something in the boot of the car and came up on the edge of the boot lid and managed to put a inch long split in the top of his head

That had to be cleaned and a dressing put on ,
Honestly the man is a liability , im thinking of upping his insurance policy

Been to Asda and Sainsburys then went to Wilko ,
I wanted a hood filter , couldn't find them and not one member of staff to ask where they were ,
I gave up I will look another day ,
Got home and remembered we also needed a new Bath plug for MIL , I knew I needed something else but just couldn't think what ,
Remembered as soon as we walked through the front door , typical isn't it

Daisy I have had a Red sock stuck in the drum before , many years ago now and all B's work shirts came out Pink ,
Lucky for me they could be bleached but its that sinking feeling when you see it isn't it

Lizzie I have just read the Netherland's are going into partial lockdown .

Plant its a pain when things are in different directions and you cant be bothered to trail around .

Gem is S playing Golf today ? has she any more tournaments this year ?
